Stop Users From Double Clicking On The Page Or Disable Double Clicking?
Sep 3, 2009I have a page that submits to a db then re-loads its self with new information. Unfortunately it goes wrong when the user double clicks on a one of many text links that provides the info for the display on reload. How do I stop users from double clicking on the page? Ideally I think I would like to call some sort of js function from body onload as I presume this would then cover the whole of the page, but have no idea if this is possible or how to go about writing it.

Mar 5, 2010I'm finishing up an e-commerce website, and I can't quite figure out why the shopping cart feature is acting all screwy in Internet Explorer. It works fine in Firefox, but in IE, when you add a product to the cart it doesn't display the little pop-up notification, and when you click on the "my cart" at the top right the product quantities are incorrect about 70% of the time. For some reason IE keeps doubling the quantities; I think one of the scripts may be double refreshing the page I just can't figure out where.

I'm getting a confirm popup, but I want it to happen twice (double confirmation) if pressed OK.
So the first time:
Are you sure you want to delete it?
if pressed cancel --> nothing happens
if pressed OK --> another popup with:
Are you 100% sure ?
if pressed cancel --> nothing happens
if pressed OK --> return true
Can somebody help me with that ?
Double Escape
Jan 14, 2007I am having trouble with some code on my site. I have an arcade with game links that have tooltips which display thumbnails. The tooltip code for each link is in the title attribute. I am using javascript to write the code for these links with tooltips so that if javascript is disabled the title attribute displays something different. My problem is some of the tooltip thumbnails contain an apostrophe (') in their src code. I use a backslash () to escape this once but I need to escape it again. Is this possible. The reason I need to escape it twice is one to escape it from the javascript and another to escape it from the src tag (src='Thumbs/image'src.jpg').

Double Combo In Form?

the error message comes up put once you click ok you can still submitt the text even if its forbidden.... any way around this, such as deleting the text within the textbox when the error box is shown?
Double Drop Down Listbox ?
Mar 22, 2010Iam trying to Script a Double drop down list box in client side Javascript. I have 2 list box the 1st one has got category and the second one has subcategory. The second listbox should automatically fill in from the 1st one.
Am using Dreamweaver to select document.drop_list.SubCat but my Dreamweaver doesnt reorganize the ".drop_list". After i type document. it gives me a list of things but ".drop_list" is not included in that.
Detecting Double-press Of A Key
Dec 31, 2010I want to detect the double-press of the space key. However, I want a single press of a space key to have a different function. The double-tap of space should only count if the taps of space are no more than, say, a half second apart.
For example: The user hits space once, and javascript begins performing one action. 1/3rd of a second later, they hit the space bar again, and since that is within our threshold of 1/2 of a second, the action that began because the user hit the spacebar once should be cancelled, or undone (which I can write later) and the action when the user hits the spacebar twice should begin.

where layer_id, item_id, and position are all defined elsewhere. I've been trying to get the images to append, and then run this line theDiv.parentNode.removeChild(theDiv) when you click on them consecutively(click to append, click again to remove, so three consecutive clicks would have the image shown and four would not), but all I've succeeded at so far is breaking the script's functionality.

May 11, 2011I have two javascript onloads in my form which seem to be cancelling each other out. The first- onload="checkMyBox"- works fine, which means the calendar stays hidden until the ckeckbox is clicked. However the second script that is supposed to show text ("I am an organized person") only after image is clicked does not work. It always shows the text.
I tried playing with it, and realized that if I erase the first <body onload="checkMyBox('c2','div1')"> the second onload works, meaning that the text will stay hidden until I click on image.

Double Posting In JSPs
Jun 9, 2005Is it possible that when I submit my form using the enter key, it would double post to the JSP where the action attribute is pointing to. I've been wracking my brains for hours how to trap it. Seems like my javascript that does the submit is doing it once but it's posting on the JSP twice.

Sep 8, 2010I ran into this issue yesterday, and no matter what I try I can't seem to get it work correctly.
I need to parse out single quotes from a field, and replace them with double quotes, so it doesn't blow up later, like it did yesterday.
I've tried using regex, but I'm sure its not the correct syntax.

Script Does Not Recognize Double Digits / Fix It?

Apr 29, 2011I know how to edit the CSS, and minute parts of the JavaScript code (for example; speed of the drop). The problem is, I had a massive amount of help making the Javascript side of the menu, and do not know how to edit it...
I want the rules to still apply, where only one can be expanded at a time (one of the first drops, and then only one of the sub-drops). I noticed in the code, I can edit it so there can be more than one drop, but that would mean, the whole menu could be expanded :(
Also, I want my sub-drops. to have different span colour than the main drop. but trhe links and such, (everything else about it) can be the same....

JS Character Counter To 'double' Certain Characters?
Mar 14, 2010I'm trying to make this tool for some fellow librarians who answer questions via text messaging. As you see beneath that page's text box, the catch is that the PC-to-SMS client treats the forward slash as two characters.
I'd like if possible for the JavaScript character counter to recognize slashes and automatically add 'two' to the character count, instead of just one, for each forward slash.
(BTW the reason for 155 instead of 160 is that the client adds a shortcode to our outgoing texts.)

Double Click On A HTML Element?
May 30, 2011In one of my webpage, I have a text field, upon double clicking on that text field, a look up table gets opened so that I can select a value on it.
There is no other way to open the lookup table other than double clicking on it.
How to double click on a text field using javascript. (In fact, how to double click on any HTML element). I cannot change the functionality of the web page to resolve this issue since the webpage was developed by me.
All I have to do is, I have to double click on the text field using javascript.
