View 4 RepliesI'm trying to use the ajax load() method to load a file from a parent directory, e.g.
$("#divTests").load("../tests.htm");
But that doesn't work. I can load a simple html file from the same directory as my html file or a descendant directory, but not an ancestor directory. Nor can I load from an external server.
I'm doing my testing on my PC and I'm not running a server (apache or otherwise). Just using it as a simple client. Is that possibly the problem? Or is there something else I'm missing? If that is the problem, is there a workaround?
I like using PHP to dynamically set styles according to what directory the page is in. I'm doing a project where PHP isn't an option, so I'm trying to do it with javascript. The following isn't working - anything obvious wrong it?

I'm working on a project for work and I'm having some issue trying to distribute to program the smoothes as possible, on idea I had was using Javascript, Im kind of new at this so ill explain to you what Im hoping to do. Basically Im looking for a onload= function when the .hta opens it would get a file from lets say G:\path\path1\path2\file.hta to C:\path\path1\folder So it would take the file and copy past it in another folder from a different directory. If a popup message could popup saying completed

Is this possible with javascript?
I've made a code that finds the factors of an inputted number. Here's the script code...
However, when I factor it, It will go to a blank unformatted page to list the factors. How can I list the factors on the webpage itself like a div? I tried using a <div> and innerHTML but it only lists one factor.
Is it possible to use javascript to get a list of files from the current
directory where the html page that contains the javascript is being called?
The reason is that I want to find all ".jpg" files in the current dir and
randomly display one. Right now I am manually putting each file name in an
array element, very hard to maintain.
How can I get a list of all the css classes applied to an element?
document.getElementById("someelement");
someelement.?(classlist)... blah
I have a property site and would like users to be able to click a button or tick a box to enable them to save a listing & then when they have finished searching they can then click on a 'view saved properties' button and each listing, or a link to each listing will be displayed on a seperate page so they can then go back to all their saved listings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a script I am trying to manipulate. I can do some basics with it but really need to work something out.
It is basically a calender script where I can select multiple days. I really need to be able to reference the id's of each day(div) selected and basically list how many have been selected.
I'm guessing this might not be enough to go on so I may need to post all of the code but this is the part that makes me able to select the days (divs):
Code:
initBackendEvents:function(){// Init Events for the days of the Calendar.
$('.DOP_BackendBookingCalendar_Day', Container).click(function(){
var day = $(this);
if (!day.hasClass('past_day')){

If you hover over the 'Shop' menu in the main navigation, all of the second sub menus appear under 'Illustration', 'Apparel', 'Lifestlye', but then jump back when you hover over each sub menu. I would just like list the 'Illustration', 'Apparel', 'Lifestlye', menus to appear when you hover over the parent 'Shop' menu but then reveal each second sub menu in turn when you hover over their respective sub menus. Can anyone help? Hope that makes sense
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a form with a huge selection of checkboxes (certifications), arranged in a table (#certs). To make it easier for the user to check what certifications they have selected, I would like to add a list immediately following the #certs table that updates dynamically based on their selections.
I put a paragraph under the table with a span - ID certs_list. I was able to add to this with the following code, but if the checkbox is clicked multiple times, it keeps adding the same value over and over again. How can I simply add to the list (item 1, item 2, item 3) when a checkbox is checked and remove it if it is unchecked?

i'm a listing a member list with jquery autocomplete and i am currently trying to add a minlength of 3 but i doesn't work and i don't really know why. Here the code

I'm making a webpage and the user can choose multiple checkboxes. After they do it, I want to list them, but I want to be able to separate them with commas and know when to put the "and" between the last and second to last item. I'm not trying to get free code, but I can't come up with any ideas of how to do this without doing an incredibly cumbersome if statement.

I'm working on a site which lists a group of products and when you click on an "expand" button it loads the rest of the product details and displays the rest of the product information directly below the div that was expanded.Each product summary has a div with the id of "#moreinfo" that expands to show the product details. The link that causes the expansion is this one: ".product5 .moreinfo a".However, only the first div expands when I click any of the products. It does display the correct product info, but always after the first product.My jquery is below. How can I make it expand the correct '#moreinfo div'
$(document).ready(function() {
var hash = window.location.hash.substr(1);
var href = $('.product5 .moreinfo a').each(function(){

I've implemented [URL]... in to our website, and it works great. What I'm trying to do now is take the events on that calendar and have the next upcoming event display on the sidebar of the pages. I put the listing of events in its own .js file for easier reading

var styledCal = new JEC('CalendarContainer', {
tableClass: 'styledCalendar',
linkNewWindow: false,
weekdays: [ "Sunday", "Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday", "Thursday", "Friday", "Saturday" ]

I have an external page with some rudimentary html in the source code missing many tags.. a bit like the below. On a page hosted elsewhere I need to take the html from this external page and add and remove certain parts of it and add some styling such as line breaks before ^FIELD01. I've looked at jquery and AJAX but cant find anything to suit my needs. I think what I am struggling with most is having this page in a variable to then be able to edit it.
Code:
^BEGIN SEARCH FORM

Unfortunately this does not seem to work, entirely. It does trigger the click event but it messes up the post for some reason. I have played around with it for the last 45 minutes or so and it seems like the click event trigger is what is messing things up, if I comment it out it works fine. Could anyone tell me why they think this is? note this is an over simplified version of my actual code, but the structure is the same.
On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:
function setSubTxt(){
var par = document.getElementById('parentDiv');
par.innerHTML = '<iframe src="'+subTxt+'" style="width: 375px; position: fixed; height: 365px; left: 400px; top: 145px; border=none;" name="subIframe" frameBorder=0></iframe>';
frames['subIframe'].window.location=subTxt;
document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial";
[Code]....
the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.
