Dialogue / Input Box That Enables Right-Click & Emails Info

Way back in the day I did some old school HTML....but after many years not touching a web page I've kind of been thrown straight into the fire with some "wish list" items I'm trying to figure out. I've done plenty of searches and somewhat have an understanding of some of the basics of what I need to do...but I'm not the least bit comfortable with Javascript (I'm just assuming that this the language most applicable to what I'm looking for - and after the experience of my one day crash course with PHP I knew I needed to turn to some experts.
Okay I have a rather large web (about 150 pages) of historical transcriptions created with XHTML (with PHP headers and footers embedded). Generally speaking, I don't much like web pages that have right-click disabled and various other protections in place.....but I'm also the sort to obsessively cite my source material and give proper credits....as a researcher who's hard work has been plagiarized and passed off as the fruits of someone else's labor, I wholly understand why many are inclined to put such walls up.
Im trying to create a video gallery, with thumbnails below a main content div, which when clicked display the relevant video in the said div. This isn't a problem and I have managed to do this... However, I also need to display descriptive text (different for every video) in a seperate div, and the first video also needs to autoplay when the page is loaded (rather than waiting until the user requests a video by clicking a thumbnail)I've made an example of where Im at so far and its viewable here...

The div 'a few lines of info about vid here' is currently just static but this is what i need to change each time a different video is requested by the user I will be using .movs but I've embedded youtube for now although I don't think that makes any difference. Im presuming it will be a case of having text that is hidden until the thumbnail is clicked...?
I want to add the functionality of displaying an info card (which is basically going to be a dialog box) when the user clicks on the name of some person. I'm not sure how I could keep references of each person's data or how to traverse the data.people collection from inside the click handler. Do I need to hold the data inside hidden fields? Or can I send the data.people[i] as an argument of the click handler?
The form allows users to enter there details, and when they click on the signup button the following is suppose to happen
1. Thank you note for signing up is displayed, including details they just entered 2. The details entered are stored in an array 3. When you want to view all signups you can click on a signup button and all details are shown 4. The form resets and clears all input fields
I have a form that allows input and functions that validate input, store input, and shows the input and html for the design layout. [code] The two buttons are called signup and members [code]When i run it i can enter all the details and click on signup all the details are still there and then i click on members and it shows all the details i have just entered along side the string signup but it also displays the words 'undefined', so I think there are problems with the array.
i'm building a website at the moment with a user registration form. something i struggle with everytime is the best way to give feedback to the user (e.g. further instructions for a particular field or error messages).I saw a very nice execution of this recently at this site. /user/register - this looks to be a custom job, but i'm curious is the open-source or even paid plugins that do a similar thing.
I am working on a project that requires me to insert info in input boxes (2 input boxes to be specific, firstname, and last name are the two) and transfer that info into a <select> field when the button is clicked. So, let's say in the first input box which is first name I type Tom and in the second input box which is last name I type Smith. When I click the button I want the first and last name to appear in the select field as an option. Now, i tried researching about adding/removing options for the select field, but nothing on getting info from input boxes to put it as an option in <select>.
I'm just starting up in web design and I have an interesting challenge that I'm hoping can be solved w/java script. I have a site with an application form. When the form is to be submitted, the form data needs to be emailed to the correct person to handle that particular application. However, that can't be determined by anything specific in the form. It can only be determined by the link that they clicked on to get to the form. I really don't want to have 22 identical forms with just a different EmailTo addie, which is what the previous site developer did. Someone please tell me this can be done w/java script? If not w/java script
I have a form with one checkbox which if checked enables a another field named (checkbox_text) which by default is disabled. Once the user checks the checkbox and then keyes in the value for the checkbox_text and submits the form, PHP validates the form by posting the form to itself. And if the validation fails, form is returned. The issue is that the checkbox no longer is checked and the entered value for checkbox_text is greyed out. So now if I submit the form again, checkbox and checkbox_text fails the validation.
I'd like to create a quick and dirty validation method for a form. It's not meant to be very secure.
The way I picture it working is this - there is an input field that asks for a password. If the user types in the password correctly, the "submit" div tag will change from "none" to "block". , which will display the submit button. I just am not familiar with JS enough to know if that's possible.
I am trying to use window.opener to grab some innerHTML of and ID in the orginal window. It works great in may tests going from HTML page to HTML page. I need it to work from and HTML Email in Outlook as the opener window. I receive the error that "document is null or not an object". Is this not possible? HTML in Email...

I have a couple of forms which use JS validation and if the validation checks out the forms action is a new php page which sends the form (see code below). It all works fine but occasionally blank emails come through. After researching some people say I shouldn't use client side validation. Is there an easier way by tweaking the code I have rather than changing it all completely?
I have this piece of javascript code, which enables me to get my Picasa photos without link back feature, in my webpage. The issue is with the hardcoded RSS url feed. I want this to be dynamically passed as a variable to the java script.I use a PHP code, where this javascript is coded.
In the below code, if I say var samples = <?php $url_code ?>, the javascript does not recognize.
My aim: To click on a link (or what looks like a link to the user), and rather than the file linked to opening in the browser or what ever, the save dialogue comes up so they can download it instead.
I would like this to work with images - "click on the thumbnail to download a larger picture" - kind of thing. JPGs specifically.

I want to show a process dialogue to the client till my process completes on the server. As long as my process dialogue appears, client should not be able to edit the page (or page become inactive); How to do this?
I would like to present the user with a confirmation dialogue box when they click the delete button on my webpage The button is not part of a form but instead is a buttton graphic with the following code:

My issue is with saving the file. At the moment, in the above code, it opens the save dialogue box, and populates the filename field with the first line of text in the document. What I want to be able to do is populate the filename field with a variable filename created by the function. I've tried the snippet below, which works with the dynamic filename, but it autosaves the file to "My Documents" folder without prompting. I have two prompt dialogue boxes that ask the user the enter their name and their employee number.I am experiencing two errors. The first is, if a user enters their name incorrectly, using numbers for example, there is an error message that asks the user to re-enter their name using a string. If the user ignores the error message and enters a number a second time, the program accepts the entry, which it shouldn't.
The second error has to do with the employee number prompt. The prompt asks the user to enter an employee number that is equal to 6 digits, the program however accepts any number, less than or greater than 6 digits, which it shouldn't.I don't want the user to get away with entering anything incorrectly.

I have two js scripts running on my project at the moment, one is uses mootools and the other uses jquery-1.2.3min, both work but not if they are on the same page.The mootool adds the pop out effect to a form box and the jquery enables the nav switch for 2 boxes that contain different form fields for a search engine. Now I've been reading up on the two and have decided to favour jquery which means I have to reproduce the same effect in mootool but with my limited knowledge it's proven rather hard.The mootool code:

and thats my problem: if you click on a link (going to info.html) in the textbox ".details" and go back (via the back button in your browser) it doesnt hide the ".details"-box. how can i hide my ".details" everytime the page is loaded, even by the backbutton?

Note that in those <td> there's an input field in each <td> and I want those input to have their own names with increment ID (e.g like name1, name2, name3.).
I'm trying to add a textbox to my div -- the code to add does work but when I add in the if statement to make sure that there won't be multiple inputs, the code does not work...
1. How do I debug my own scripts? I've been learning slowing but I don't know the quick way to catch an error and print to page.
I wrote a function, to change a input value to show a key, which PHP later recognizes and makes addition changes too. However I can't seem to get this simple function to work, can you see anything wrong with it?
