I'm trying to do the following thing. Create a dynamic selectboxA0 when a button is pushed. Then, when a value is selected in this selectboxA0, there will be dynamically generated another selectboxB0 with content which is different for each option of the first selectboxA0. When the button is pressed another time SelectboxA1 is generated (which will in his turn generate SelecboxB1).
The code I use is the following:
function addProduct(){
var url = "includes/php/catalog/loadcategories.php";
$.post(url,
function(data){
$('<tr id="catalogid'+invoiceProducts+'"><td>Product-categorie</td><td><select name="category'+invoiceProducts+'" id ="category'+invoiceProducts+'">'+data+'</select></td></tr>').appendTo('#invoiceTable');
$("#category"+invoiceProducts).change(
function(){
var currentCatalogField = $("#category"+invoiceProducts).attr("name");
if($('#product'+invoiceProducts).length > 0){
var currentProduct = $('#product'+invoiceProducts);
var category = $('#category'+invoiceProducts).val();
var selectbox = true;
productSelect(category, selectbox);
}else{
var category = $('#category'+invoiceProducts).val();
var selectbox = false;
productSelect(category, selectbox);
}});}, "html");
invoiceProducts++;
}
The problem I have is that everything revolves around a counter (var invoiceProducts). Therefor when I select a value in SelectboxA0, the value of SelectboxB1 will change (instead of B0). Any way to solve this thing, by for example making the object pass itself when it calls the onchange function so I can get the number out of the name/id attribute or something. A
I have a page where I use <DIV> to control the visibility a text input area. The text input is made visible only if the Other radio button is selected. That all works fine.
The problem I'm having is when I press the forms Reset )<input type=reset>) button, the visibility of the text area is not restored to the state it was at when the page first loaded so I end up with the text area being displayed even though the Other radio button in no longer selected (reset did clear it).
I thought I could solve this by using a <FORM onReset="forcehide()"> event handler but I can't figure out how to get the object id of the div. The div is defined as follows: Code:
I have a script which allows me to select random users from one select field to another and works like a charm, but... I want to be able to get random users from one select field to multiple (lets say 2) other select fields...
So lets say that I have 5 users in the first field (select1): James Bill Jennifer Bob Karen
Now when I press a button: <input value="" type="button" onClick="randomusers();" /> 2 users a moved to select2 and other 2 users is moved to select3.
My current script is as follows: Code: function randomusers(){ var given = 2, used = {}, randnum, opts = $('#select1 option'), olen = opts.length, hiddiv = $('#hiddendiv'); function ran() { // generate a unique random number random = Math.floor(Math.random() * olen); return used['u'+randnum] ? ran() : randnum; } for (var i = 0; i < given; i++) { // get the correct quantity of randoms used['u'+ran()] = true; } var players = opts.filter(function(index) { // remove all options that are not one of the randoms return !!used['u'+index]; }).appendTo('#select2');}
i want to make a form. the form will have three text fields and with two buttons. what i want with this form is when the user enters the first three fields and if he wants to add more then he will click on add more button and on the same page three more fields will appear below the first three fields. the user will then enter these three fields then if he wants to add more then he will click on add more button. so three more fields will appear below the first six fields. user will enter these fields. he will be allowed to enter upto eight or less than eight times. once he finishes with this then he will click the second button to insert this data into db.
Am having difficulty creating a dynamic <select> element using direct assignment to the element's option array (ie. someElement.option[i]=new Option(someText, someValue);) that will work on Palm devices runing Blazer 3.0 or Web Browser 2.0.
The browsers SEEM to be JavaScript1.1+ capable and the script that I have works on every desktop-based browser, but not the PDA ones....
I'm trying to create a webpage where users can click on a dynamically generated set of questions:
<?php do { ?> <p><?php echo $row_rsQuestions['question_text']; ?><?php echo $row_rsQuestions['question_type']; ?></p> <?php } while ($row_rsQuestions = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsQuestions)); ?>
and by clicking on a particular question, there will be an update for their particular listing of personal questions in a MySql database. I know how to create the database update part, but I think that I would need to javascript to:
1) tell my page that it's time to update (i.e. add a particular question as soon as they click it)
2) pass along the correct variable to the database update portion of the page.
I have a php script that lists some items which can be checked or unchecked. Now, I am trying to make a javascript that writes a comment field in a certain "span" - comm_'.$i.', where $i starts from 0 - if the check box is already checked (info retrieved from the database) or if the user checks the check box (when the user unchecks the check box the comment field should disappear). The problem is that I am unable to make it work properly (when I check or uncheck a box it doesn't work at all), I mean it only works for the element above, so if box_1 is checked it can only create the comment field in comm_0.
The error I get is - this is similar to the errors I get when checking and unchecking a check box: Message: 'null' is null or not an object Line: 64 (this would be line comSpc.innerHTML = 'something1';) Char: 4 Code: 0
My application reads an array of URLs in Javascript and displays them in a table. I need to create mouseover events for each of the links (just an alert message for now.) I have tried this a few ways, but for each one the mouseover event fires for each link before anything else is loaded on the page, and when the page is loaded, no link is displayed. Here are the two ways I've tried:
So, I need a way to push JavaScript commands from the server over to the user. The way this currently works is by using iframes/php. I have an iframe with it's src set to "loader.html". Then I have a "control panel" with multiple links to php files. Every php file here writes JavaScript code to loader.html, so for example alert.php writes <script>alert("hello");</script> to loader.html and the user is alerted.
However, this method is rather rudimentary and I was wondering if there was a more efficient way of doing it.
I've got a little jquery bit to add some behavior to linked mp3s. You see this here: [URL]. Basically, jquery adds a speak icon and a player when the link is clicked, and the link title flies off and fades to the right: [code] jQuery('a[href$=mp3]:not(.amplink)') .wrap('<div class="mp3_span">' + '</div>') .addClass("mp3_title") .attr("title", "Click to Play") .before('<img src="' + anarchy_url + '/images/114.png" title="Click to listen" class="speaker" style="margin:' + mp3imgmargin + '"/>') .each(function awesome() { .....
This works more or less how it would like it in all browsers except ie7. There the block that is created for the expanding text pushes everything down, even though the link are given a position:absolute declaration.
I can't seem to do no matter what css I apply, and, of course, I' rather not hack the jquery script. So again - how can I keep the text animation without having the following elements getting pushed down?
I'm trying to add the lightbox plugin to a page and when the image is clicked the overlay and corresponding image are pushed to the bottom of the page wit the image below the overlay. The gallery div is nested inside a couple other divs and when the gallery images are clicked the overlay and lighbox divs are pushed to the bottom of the page instead of being absolutely positioned over the existing content. If anyone has some ideas on how to fix this I would like to hear them.
Is it possible to create a toggle button, say using javascript?At moment I have a a default div showing a graph a user clicks on a button and the div is replace with a second div showing a second graph Can the user click on the same button to switch back to the original graph?
I'm trying to create a javascript function that will allow the user to press a button within the html code that will add a text box right above the button. If the user presses it a second time it should add a second text box right under the previous text box. Any ideas?
You may find it more helpful to provide a back button for your users to allow them to go back where they originally came from. This will also make it easier to program your HTML pages.
I am dynamically creating a table rows and inerting radio buttons which are also dynamically created. Everything works fine in Firefox as expected. But I am not able to select radio buttons in IE. It does not even throw any errors. I have searched over the net but could not find anyhelp. Code:
I'm trying to create a custom meta box on Wordpress with multiple text fields.The idea is that there is initially one text box, then you can click the button 'Add New' and a another text box is added. This needs to be via Ajax; using Javascript doesn't physically create the HTML and I have to use a PHP foreach loop to get all of the values from and combine them into an array in order to be saved.
Currently via PHP I've created a foreach loop that creates a text box for each value from the custom field (etc, 3 text boxes). I want to create a button that when clicked, it will add another blank text box as part of this foreach loop. When the post is saved, it will get the values from the 4 text boxes and save them back into the array.
I have 3 button controls on my asp.net web page. This r html controls one of them I have set to default on form load. Using javascript how do I set the other 2 button to be clicked when it has focus & enter key is pressed.
I'm trying to build an online form which has different recipients. So i'd be something like: Weather user select any of the optiions (where multiple recipients are) depending on that selection that's where the output will go to an specific email address.

I'm trying to create a new validation rule to check if a button has a class. I try to explain the scenario. I have a button that makes an ajax call to check the availability of a product. When the app loads the button as class "to_check", when the button is clicked an ajax call is fired, a server script return the availability of the product and basing on this answer I change the class of the button from "to_check" to "ok" or "ko". Now I want to validate the button to se if the availability is being checked and is ok, then I wrote this:
Now I want to add this rule to the button with the metadata plugin inside the class name with this syntax: <pre id="line175"><span id="__firefox-tidy-id" style="background-color: rgb(221, 221, 255);"><<span class="start-tag">input</span><span class="attribute-name"> type</span>=<span class="attribute-value">"button" </span><span class="attribute-name">name</span>=<span class="attribute-value">"verifica_disponibilita" </span><span class="attribute-name"> .....
I'm creating a web page that randomly shows images when when a button is clicked. I appear to be having 2 main problems with it so I'll begin with what seems to be the easiest one to tackle.as the user scrolls down the page I need to keep the button statically, in the top right corner.here's the relevant code:
Every time I create a radio button set and append it to an element in internet explorer I the radio button doesn't allow for it to be checked. It works fine in mozilla.
Here's a slimmed down example that produces the lock.
Code: function addRadio(e){
var i = document.createElement('input'); i.type = 'radio' i.value = 1; document.getElementById(e).appendChild(i); } Whenever the element is appended in IE it doesn't allow itself to be selected.
I have a list of radio buttons. Each radio button has a dynamic name. Is there a way to check if they are all selected? Because most radio validation scripts uses a static name. code...
