Combine User Input And URL To Load Page

I'm working in iWeb (I had to say that first). I need to create (using JAVASCRIPT) a text box with a button. When the button is clicked, the contents of the box are added to the URL (the url is in the code, probably a variable, for this example it is mydomain.wordpress.com/) and the url produced loads. For example, if the text "Hello" was printed in the text box once the button is clicked the page mydomain.wordpress.com/Hello is loaded.

I have a character countdown that tell you how many characters you have type in the text area. But I am having a problem, I can't see to show a text or the number the character the user when I load the page. I want it to show Characters Type: 0 when you load the page, and not having to press a key to show it, here is the code I am using...

I want to use javasript to create a new html page named from a text field in a form. Then I want to use javasript to copy all of the form fields to the new html page that was created using javascripting. I am creating a user are using a Javascript password login. With most of them the page is the user name or password. So this is why I am looking to do this. I use web 1000 a free host and they will only let me use javascripting.

I'm just starting up in web design and I have an interesting challenge that I'm hoping can be solved w/java script. I have a site with an application form. When the form is to be submitted, the form data needs to be emailed to the correct person to handle that particular application. However, that can't be determined by anything specific in the form. It can only be determined by the link that they clicked on to get to the form. I really don't want to have 22 identical forms with just a different EmailTo addie, which is what the previous site developer did. Someone please tell me this can be done w/java script? If not w/java script

This code works fine in Firefox and Opera, I can see that it put focus
on the correct input in IE, but by the time the page has loaded
completely it loses focus.
The first time you enter the page it works fine in IE too, but if you
click a link which gives the input a value after reloading the page the

I have a single webpage that contains information on all 50 U.S. states. There are 50 links at the top to jump down to the state you want, and at the bottom of the information for each state a Back to Top link.
I'm making the Back to Top link into something more complex, and it will require three or four lines of code.
So that I don't have to repeat the code 50 times, and create a burden when I need to edit it, I want to place it in a .js file and call it x. Then below the information for each state I'll simply have:
Does calling code from a .js file 50 times slow down the page load? Which method would load faster?

Here is the HTML: [URL] I'm trying to uncheck the selected radio button, then set the value to 1 (Yes), basically overwriting theinitialvalue to 1. I've looked at prop(), val(), and attr(), and just don't know where to start. Should I select $('#set_q157 input') or$('#set_q157 input:radio'), or each individual radio?
Do I need to each them, and check if its checked, then change its value, or is there a way to select all three inputs as just one radial button? It would also need to work if the input has not yet been checked.

I have some javascript code that does some GET and POST requests that are required. Sometimes it doesn't fully execute for the user because they close or click onto another page before the javascript is completely done. Is there anyway I can let all of the javascript load first and slow down the actual page load of the website.

I have to come up with a user authenication page the logs the user in and also gives them access to do the right things. I have attached the code and the access file and have got started on a few things.I first need to create a login page with the fields username and password have that check the access database and then proceed it to a page to do the following depending on the user access. For The Login button to even be enabled the username and password must have a value in it. I have no idea how to do that

I just joined the forums (literally) and just started coding (mainly with CSS and HTML) about 3-4 weeks ago. I'd really like to get into JavaScript to make cool things happen on my website. With that being said, I've come up with a pretty cool idea but am not sure how to go about my problem.
Enough with the chit chat. What I'm trying to do is add text to a user's input. For instance, if they write "Hello", the function should automatically add "World" to the output. I'd ideally like for the output to be searched on Google (think search engine) with the results displayed on a new page.

I'm adding the ability for the user to input his own values into 6 input fields, some or all of which may be left blank. I have already an array populated (thanks to Paul Wilkins) with default values. How do I get the user's values into that array so the calculations will be performed on it?I got this far, but was unable to understand the problems brought up by JSHint.com.

I want a js that will have the user select from a drop down list a venue, then enter their username in one textbox, and password in another, so they're taken to /venue/username/password.html. Eg. I'm new to javascript and am failing at something quite basic. I'm trying to route users to a specific page based on what they input in a text field. I need to list some zipcodes (in the javascript?) and if they enter a valid zipcode, they are directed to one page and if it's not on the list they will go to another. Please could someone let me know what's wrong with the code?

I have the following JS which puts a transparent blanket over the page and centralizes a <DIV> in the middle of the page. The problem I have is that sometimes the content of the page is quite long, and thus this popup <DIV> will get centralize against the content and not the current view port. The blanket only layers the transparent element on the viewable part of the screen/browser, so I am putting in a overflow: hidden style, so I need to ensure that the popup (and the transparency layer) is only on the current viewing window and not based on the content size (otherwise with the scrollbars taken away I will not be able to get to the popup.
So what I need is to display the transparency DIV and popup within the current viewing window, whether the user has scrolled half way down a page then it should show here - if that makes sense

I'm having an issue with the status bar in Mozilla and Netscape showing that
it is still waiting on the page to load even after it is finished. This
problem does NOT occur with IE.
In summary, I am using a onLoad event in the BODY tag to communicate back to
another server each time a page finishes loading. I do this by using a "new
Image()" and setting the .src property to the server. The .src includes a
value in the querystring so I know what request it was that finished
loading.
The challenge here is that the status bar still shows "Transferring data
from www.mysite.com..." despite the image being loaded. It never clears and
leaves the user with the impression that there was a problem loading the
page. My web server logs at the mysite.com show that the browser does
indeed make a request for the image and I get the querystring just fine and
it returns a status of 200 so the image is being found and served ok.
I've tried everything I can think of to solve this and really could use your
help please. Bottom line is that if you use the "new Image" statment from
within the OnLoad event of the Body tag, Netscape and Mozilla never seem to
update the status bar to show "Done" despite it succesfully loading the
image.

Right now I am using the javascript 'prompt' to enter a photoid and the
script that I am using uses document.write
to put the proper image on the page ....i.e. PHOTOID =".jpg"
What I want is a simple user input text area and when submit is clicked a
placeholder image beneath is exchanged for the proper
image based on the user's input.
example: User enters re4555 and the image re4555.jpg replaces the image
nosel.jpg
that I have created which basically says 'no image selected'.
