Sep 27, 2006I'm trying to run some code when a H2 element is clicked on an unordered list below it. The problem is, the code runs whether the h2 has a ul below it or not.

So, if I have something like this:
<h2>Subtitle</h2>
<h2>Subtitle 2</h2>
<ul><li>List</li></ul>
Clicking "Subtitle" runs the function on "Subtitle 2". I don't want the function to run unless the next element is an ul. How can I verify that the next element is an unordered list and if not, don't run anything?
Get Select Element And Its Values In A Node?
Dec 28, 2010I'm trying to read a select(dropdown) box from an HTML form along with all its options. My core requirement is to be able to read a select element with all its option and store it in some variable/node using one JS function. Use another JS function to pick the node and convert the values from node back to the options of select box.
We can probably make use of jQuery as well, provided it is supported by IE6.

page which may or may not have a <div> holding a bunch of thumbnails, and I
want a function to check for the existence of the <div>. Doing:

Generates an error.... I was hoping it would just return false or

Jun 5, 2010[code]so now if url is xyz.html, the i'm getting the content of that page through AJAX and loading it to a DIV element(x).....and then accessing the div elements "name","category" etc.,but if urls point to heavy pages, it's slow process to do this work. so I WANT TO CHECK WHETHER THOSE DIV ID's EXIST IN THAT PAGE OR NOT WITHOUT LOADING THEM and then GET THEIR VALUES IF EXISTS.

This always throws up the error: document.getElementById(Divs[nodes]) is null ive tried putting the xmlDoc in a variable then checking if its null but no luck, also tried the same method against "undefined" but no luck either.

I have set up my jQuery script to index drop down menus and visible inputs, and uses that index to determine whether keydown of tab should move focus to the next element or the first element, and likewise with shift+tab keydown. However, instead of moving focus to the first element from the last element on tab keydown like I would like it to, it moves focus to the second element. I want to make it so you can click on a pinpoint that's plotted on the
map and all mouse events are passed to the map so that the user can
click anywhere on the map (including the pin points) and drag/zoom the
map around.
For those of you who haven't used Virtual Earth:
Basically, there are a bunch on absolutely positioned Div elements. I
basically want to pass all mouse events from one absolutely positioned
div element to the absolutely positioned div element directly beneath
it.
