Check If A Form Field Contains The Words Jpg And Png
Aug 4, 2007
I have an image validation script that im working on. This is what i have so far...
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function validate_form ( )
{
var imgcheck;
valid = true;
if ( document.editavatar.avatar.value == "" )
{
alert ( "Please Enter an Image Url!" );
valid = false;
}
return valid;
}
//-->
</script>
How can i add to that so that it checks if the avatar field has the words png, jpg, gif and bmp, and if it doesnt, valid will be false. So in other words, if it does contain png, jpg etc it will return valid.
I have some problems with validating form in javascript.
I have a following HTML code:
What I want in validation is to check all the field in form (check for required fields etc). I want to show user error message in div tag with id='poruka'.
Part of code of function ValidirajFormu:
So, validation works OK, but message is not written in div tag. Only if all fields are correct, form is submited, but there are no error message.
I want to validate a form. In the form is a text field named 'extra[]' where the user inputs a number. The number is what I want to validate.
However, the 'extra[]' field is dynamic and does not always appear in the form.
If it appears, there may be only 1 occurrence of it which means it's then not an array but there may also be multiple occurrences of it.
I have a script that validates (and work as it should) if the 'extra[]' field occurs multiple times and is thereby an array, but I can't figure out how to validate the 'extra[]' if there is only 1 and to not throw an error if it's not there at all. Code:
A non leap year can be divided by 100. But a leap year is divisible by both 4 and 400.This seems so simple yet I can't nail it. I'm taking an accelerated Javascript class and I was able to do all the problems up to this one. It's confusing me, or it may be that I've been up since 2 working on homework and getting ready for another test.
Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html>
I have a form with a text field and a submit button. I don't want the form to submit if the text field is filled in correctly. for example a email address typed in the text field area. I'm working with spry validation but i guess i need to add some kind of onSubmit event, with javascript. I have some idea but not sure what to fill in by the "if statements" in the script.
I'm having users fill out a form where there are multiple rows of data.
Some of the rows can have duplicate data for some fields.
So say on line 1) i have first name, last name as an input fields and some other fields as well, c, d, e, etc.
When the user gets to line 2) if they want to have the same first name and last name as line 2, can I have them check a box and it will automatically populate these fields with the info they just typed in line 1? I can't figure out how to do this.
I have a web form with several fields. If I copy & paste from a RTF document into a field, the javascript validation and field length are bypassed and cause the form to fail.
I am new to JavaScript and was wonder how I would go about creating a form to allow the user to enter various words, one at a time. These words are added to an array and displayed in the page using the textarea form element. Each time a new word is entered, it is added to the array, and then the array is sorted in alphabetical order before the words in the array are displayed in the textarea, one per line. I have tried lots and lots of different methods to accomplish this, and I can get it half working when I use the alert function, but I need this to display on the page in a textarea rather than in an alert box, I tried to get it to write to the page using a document.write function, but like I said I am new to JavaScript and unfortunately cant get any of it working.
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "[URL]"> <html xmlns="[URL]"> <head> <title>JavaScript Page One</title> </head> <BODY> <CENTER> <FORM name="history"> <INPUT name="command" type="text" value=""> <INPUT type="button" value="Add to List" onclick="f_store(document.history.command.value)"> <INPUT name="history" type="button" value="Show List" onclick="f_print()"> </FORM> <P> <SCRIPT language="JavaScript"> function MakeArray( n ) { if( n <= 0 ) { this.length = 0; return this; } .....
i know i should have 2 fields for a first and last name in my form but i dont - or has - a java script valadation rule to only allow a one letter character (letter in between spaces such as a middle initial) in a text field if at least 2 words are also included (2 words of at least 2 or more characters)
so if the user input ' John H ' an error prompt would display until one more word is added/at least 2 words are found
right now im using the below coding to allow at least 2 words in the text field but would like to see if its possible to enhance it so it will only block a one letter word if there are less than 2 other words in the form - right now if any words is added with less than 2 characters it will display an error... if anyone knows of a better form of code that needs a minimum of 2 words added and still allows single characters such as middle initials to in a validation script i get lost on validation process'
I have an .asp page for my customers which does just accepts e-mail information and passes this information to another .asp page. But before passing the info, a javascript checks whether the entered e-mail does match some certain rules. Rule1: If any input has been made at all, Rule2: If an "@" sign is there, if the"." is there and so on. upon pressing the submit button, the first rule works but the second rule does not. Could not figure it out why.
[Code]...
It is the function control() which validates the e-mail field. But it just validates whether the e-mail has been entered or not. The second check (with the @ sign) is not being made.
i think this will help people a lot, cuz i couldn't find any simple answer by googling 3 hours...i need a very very simple jquery form field reset.here is the picture what i need:
HTML Code: <script type='text/javascript' src='http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.6.4.min.js'></script> <script>
I'm having some problem with checking with the follwoing code:
if (appForm.q15a[i].checked==true && appForm.q15cert.value==""){ alert ("You must enter value!!!!") valid = false; }
What I'm trying to do is have the user enter some data based upon if the radio button is true and the text field is empty. What could be wrong with the following code above.
I have the following hidden field within a form:<input type="hidden" name="test12" value="test12" />I also have the following function which does something if that field exists:
i have an if structure checking to see of the fields have been filled in. On the text fields though there is no value so how can i check to see if nothing there which would mean aint been filled in. i tried
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function convertHaH() { var mylist=Number(document.getElementById("percent")) document.getElementById("remainder").value=100-mylist.value; } </script> </head> <body> <form> First percentage: <input type="text" id="percent" onchange="convertHaH()"> <p>Remaining percent: <input type="text" id="remainder" size="20"></p> </form> </body>
This code works great, it will populate the second box. But I would like it to check if what was entered is a number if it isn't then an alert box shows stating they need to enter a number between 1 - 100, else it populates the second box.
My Javascript doesn't display an error when the "bid" field is blank but I want it to.Everything else works okay but I'm not a Javascript programmer so I don't know where to begin.
function checkBid(fieldName,minValue,maxValue){ var numberfield = fieldName; if (chkNumeric(fieldName,minValue,maxValue) == false){
I am doing some basic form validation stuff and I have two fields (phone, fax) that I need to check if the characters enterred are numeric, but still allow + and () characters to be enterred. If anything else has been enterred to display an error message.
Can someone point me to a resource ( I searched, but couldn't find an obvious one!) or give me a rundown on some code here to help me out?
I have a form that is basically a table from my database.I have checkboxes on the left and only those checked get updated on submit.Im trying to make an function that is called with an onChange event that will check the box if any of the fields in that row are altered. The id of the checkbox is checkeds[i] where i is the row number.The function is firing, but the box isnt getting checked.
Okay, new to this magical thing called Javascript and LOVING it. Don't know how I avoided it all these years. :thumbsup:
Running into a stupid issue and I am sure it is just something I am missing. I have a hidden field in my page with the default value of HELLO. I am trying to make a change based on the default value, but I obviously am doing something wrong because it won't display my hidden field value. [code]...
The following form validation script works, currently if one of the five fields are completed, a message appears the remaining field(s) must be completed etc. Although the information the user has inputted in the first field is cleared. How can this information be available, if there is one problem in the form it doesn't make sense that the user must re-input all the information again. I look forward to hearing your response,
my javascript code is only validating one field at a time (as in it validates on field then submits the form, instead of going through the entire thing and then returning it as true and submitting it...) I'm not sure what to do to be honest, I've looked up google to no real avail.. my variables are declared in a seperate file to the actual even handlers and I have heaps of comments through out it, so please don't judge lol i'm still learning Quote:
//Event Registrations (Variable Declarations) found in validation_chkr.js //Validate Entire Form using validate_join() function validate_join()
