I have the code for the form, it asks for the quantity of certain items to purchase and displays them. The next exercise I needed the Quantity to test for Numbers only. I need it to give an alert if there is a NaN entry and stop the program otherwise it continues on with the calculations.

I have this great piece of code that only allows letters in a form, however, it waits for you type the number and then gives it a null value (i think). If I wanted it to totally block any number keys (etc), how would I change it? AND, is there a way I could do this to only allow numbers?

I have a page with 2 product forms to add to shopping cart each form has the same fields.
when someone changes one of the dropdown boxes depending on the size it is to change the price to a certain value. This works ok whan you only have one form but now that there is two forms. When you change the second form dropdown box it changes the price on the first product.

Where the inputs sum1 and sum2 are text fields you put whatever numbers you want in. That works fine. Great. Now what I'm having trouble with is modifying the code so that it will add one form with an input number with a form that spits out a randomly generated number.

This is what I'm using for my random number generator. So basically I want to be able to put, say, 5, into the input text field above this. And then click on the d20 button to get a random number, say, 15, and then have the first code add the inputted 5 with the randomly generated 15.

E.G. <input type="text" value="old_value" />The same situation occurred if I used $('#my_field').attr('value', '') to clear the field.The same situation occurred if I actually changed the value of the field rather than just clearing it.To work around this problem I ended up using the $('#my_field').removeAttr('value') to clear the field before it was submitted.

The pages are based on tables, so the parts that change are all cells.
1. Can I define text instead of an image in the array? i.e. can I have the image change to say an apple in one cell and the next cell have text explaining what an apple is?
2. Would it be possible to put a countdown timer for when the image/text is going to change?
Ive got a small image of a power button and when pressed the inner section on the button changes to yellow, but when its pressed down Im also trying to get part of my H1 (main header logo title) to change to yellow.

I understand Im not really supposed to be using inline JS, and I know Ive got to create a function for the onmousedown event to trigger changing the H1 text, so am I under the right impression that the JS so far written is redundant and will have to be re-written so thats contained within a script placed just before the closing </body> and an external script for invoking the main function ?
I am writing a script and everything works fine, except when I calculate my figure i want to display only 2 decimal points.

I'm having difficulties arithmetically manipulating form element values.
I've entered data into the form, and I fetch them using a js, as:
p7Left = Number(document.form1.elements["p7_left"].value);
p7Right = Number(document.form1.elements["p7_right"].value);

scoreLeft = Number(document.form1.elements["left_score"].value);
scoreRight = Number(document.form1.elements["right_score"].value);
Then I add these as follows:
scoreLeft = Number(scoreLeft + p&Left + ...... +);
This does what I want; without the operator 'Number' I get a concatination
of the various variables (as expected). Is there some way of globally
defining all variables as numbers instead of strings?
