Change Content Without Refresh?
Dec 9, 2010i would like to build a page which is nav and content, I would like the content to change without refreshing the page, also ideally fallback gracefully to non java say to standard go and view new page on click if javascript is disabled, and also have the content only load in when required as the content is heavy and I dont think just hiding divs will be a good solution? any ideas, I'm thinking a javascript PHP solution is required

Jul 4, 2009I am having a html file with show/hide functionality using javascript. If I click "more link" then I can see more links with "hide" link at the bottom. On clicking hide link its getting hide. My problem is, if I click "more link" and I refreshed the page. Again all the links get hidden. I want those links should be hidden only on clicking the "hide link". Not for every page refresh.

More Than One Simultaneous Image Change On Page Refresh?
Jun 14, 2010my dilemma at the moment is that I have produced a site where the client would like the logo colour/image to change on refresh which I have achieved by scouring the net for codes and altering them. Now, the client wants the shapes behind the sub-headings to match the current logo colour/image on refresh as well. This would mean if the logo changed to the blue logo, I'd need all the sub-headings to be blue, and vice versa for another 3 colours.I'm struggling to understand how I can achieve this. At the moment, I have a javascript inside the code of the index page allowing logo image change on refresh but need the sub-headings to change in sync too.

Apr 1, 2011I have a php webpage that has a single input box. When ever an item is entered and the Submit button is pressed, the entry is added to a database. Additionally, the database table contents are read and printed directly below the input box and the submit button on the same page, using AJAX. Now, I have decided to add additional functionality to the page. I want a delete button for each entry displayed in the table below. For any button that is pressed, I want to delete that entry from the database.
Here's the problem: I want the database table contents that has been printed below to reflect this change. I can achieve the delete, but in order to show the change in content caused by the delete, the table below must either be replaced or updated via ajax. How can I achieve this? I have been trying to follow these examples using jQuery and Mootools respectively, but I've been having no luck. [URL] I don't want all the fancy looks, I just want the core functionality.

Refresh Parent From IFrame Makes Refresh Loop In FF Only?
Jan 2, 2009I have this code in a page that appears in my iframe if requested from parent:

So, the person clicks a link from the parent, it does a php process in a hidden iframe, which then tells the parent page to refresh. The only problem is that it puts Firefox in a constant loop of refreshing. IE and Chrome work fine. They refresh once and stop.
Though the src code opens the iframe like so: <iframe src="" style="display:none; height:1px;" name="hdplus" id="hdplus"></iframe> Firefox seems to refresh the page with the memory of the child page being in the iframe, constantly looping the child request to refresh the parent.
Why won't Firefox just accept that no page should load in the iframe, as stated in the code? I need to stop this loop, which means I need to get firefox to reset the iframe as it reloads the page.

I'm reasonably familiar with PHP (I use a lot of it to do simple things). I'm a Web desinger and do custom CSS Websites (I'm fairly new to that too couple of years or more working with CSS and I've never done a table based layout.

But when the button is clicked, nothing will call the showCaption() function again, and I can't figure out how to call that function as the images advance. I have tried a lot of things with a lot of weird results, one being the tne next caption will display in a blank browser window, without the Webpage! I'm not sure why that happens, but I have a clue.
Is there an easier way to do what I want to do? I only want to show a few lines of text that will describe each image. Seems simple enough to me, but I'm just too new to make it work.

parent. I can not seem to use anything like
window.opener.parent.location.reload()
as by the time I execute the statement the parent has closed and all
connections closed and I am not even sure that would work!
Is there a way to reference a window to refresh it other than by using
window.parent or window.opener.

Jan 31, 2006i would like to refresh an image source, which is alreadz stored in user's cache. one waz would be append some ?time at the end of img's url, bur next time user come accross the picture, the old pic from the old cache would've been loaded..so, i need to force somehow the browser to send a request (it does not send requests for images stored in cache by default)... like f5 (or refresh button)

Jun 23, 2010I am trying to change my cursor to a help cursor for a webapp I'm helping to develop. It partially works, except when an element has a CLASS attribute. For example:

1) Is this okay? Is there a better way to do this?
2) With doing this, any divs/inputs that do have their cursor attribute set will lose it. What's the best way to store this info so it can be reset?
