I am new with java and now i have an assignment to convert an improper fraction like 9/5 into a mixed number 1 4/5. I got how to convert it but if i have 4/5 and the output should give back 4/5 not 0 4/5.
Is there any way I could solve this problem? (I haven't learn "if then" yet? Just start from beginning
When I used toFixed() method on a number, I thought that this method round a number to a specified approximation, but I got a surprising result, the number became string! 15.23689.toFixed(2) ==> "15.24". So does it convert the number into string?

I'm trying to create an array sort of thing to convert the country name's to continent, and set it as a cookie. I spent all that time writing a PHP script for this same thing only to find out that my webhost does not have the maxmind apache module. I also don't know how to get the value of the country from a javascript function.

For example, I have <span id="convert">1</span> somewhere on my page. Notice the "1", I want to covert "1" into let's say "John" every time the "1" is within a span tag with "convert" as the id. I also want "2" to be converted to "Pete". And "3" to be converted to "Bob".

If I use 0.1 they work good both;

I'm trying to convert the number 'i' used by the for loop to a string so it can be used by the getElementById() method to select the stars to be highlighted. But my intellisense is telling me there is a problem with that line. I tried

I've used jQuery ajax and .post a lot, and several times within the very application that i'm having issues with, but I've never run into this issue before.I've got a table of items and categories, sorted by a sort number. in the same cell that the sortnum input is in, there is a span with a status id that differentiates between items and categories so i can modify the correct records in the correct database table.First, i select all of the inputs and then sort them by the value of the input. next, i loop through the inputs, creating two arrays: one array contains the type of entry, and the other contains the id of the entry.
After the loop, i join each array into its own variable, sortlist and typelist. Next, i perform a .post passing the two lists to my server.The problem is, on the server side, those two variables are getting a "[]" appended to the end of them, and since i'm working in coldfusion, the only way to get data from them is with evaluate. I can get by using evaluate(), but i'd rather not have to.So far i haven't found a way to get the value of this variable. has anyone else ran into this issue and found a solution?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOK so Ive been using jquery for a little bit now and love it. I am a ColdFusion developer. I have a need where I would like to present the user with a list of categories and the user can drag and drop to sort, but then I need to post this new sort order to the database. So I see there are a ton of cool drag & drop plugins for jquery. I understand how they work and I can get it to work as far as spitting out DIVS or spitting out ULs that can be sorted, but then what? So now they are sorted on my screen and not really part of the form. How do I translate that into something I can do a post to the database with? Do I do an AJAX call every time they drop an item and try to extrapolate the sort order on that item after they drop it? Do I populate a hidden form field with the constantly updating sort order list? MAybe a list of ID's? How does everyone else go about this this task? I'm sure there is more than one way and I'm sure this is a common task.

Anyways, somewhere there is an error inside the string, probably because the single quotes cancel each other - but I can't seem to combine them to fix it. Let me know if you see anything, or have tips.

It seems that if I use jquery in https and do an ajax call out and then update the dom with the resulting html I get an HTTPS unsecure content warning. Now the content is all https and there are not http calls any where so I'm wondering if this has been seen before. I've dug very deep looking for the issus and if I take jquery out of the equation it doesn't give me an error. But I've standardized jquery as part of the site and don't want to mix straight old javascript with jquery, if I can avoid it.

As you can see I use the "." dots for the splitting of the string and I pre-insert them into the "Value" of the textbox, but is it possible to do this without them being deletable or even better, have it so that for every number added the script inserts a dot?
We are using the jquery droppable plugin on our portal. We have a situation when drag n drop brings in the IE 8 mixed content warning dialog. There is a AJAX load request which is fired when there is a drop. Does this plugin have support over SSL? Is there any way to fix this issue. I did use Fiddler, HTTPWatch Basic and also the FireFox Net tab and the AJAX requests are indeed https://.

1) I want 2 text areas (input and output) + "convert" button
2) if I type in the input area the letters "ea" I would like it to be converted into "a", so that If I type "cambrea" and press "submit" the output text will have "cambra".
3) if I type "e " which is (e+space) I want it to be converted into " " which is "space" example: if I type the word "spine " it should be converted into "spin , note that there is a space after "spin ".
4) If I type any vowel before "o" it should render "o", example: gambuo becomes gambo.
would this be possible? I'm not very familiar with Javascript even though I can modify it.
