I'm having some issues with my HTML/Javascript page. This is my code:
<script language="JavaScript">
function testaResultado (form) {
var resposta = form.txtResposta.value;
if (resposta.toUpperCase() == "GOOGLE") {
[Code]....
When I type "google" on txtResposta (text object) and click on btnOK button, the pagina.html page is showed, ok. But if I press the [ENTER] key instead of clicking on btnOK button, the page is reloaded and pagina.html is not showed.
I'm trying to figure out a way to put this in all js code with the onclick event handlers and the parameters. I have 3 links that switch the style of my page. Right now I have them working with inline event handlers. Here are my code snippets below.
I have identical code in my index that works, so I'm just guessing the error is somewhere else, I know IE is not the best target to aim for - but I really want this to work in the windows default browser....
Here is the php page... <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>[code].... and here is the javascript that works in the index but not here... function Abort() { document.location="AddFamilyMember.php"; };
When I load the page everything looks ok, but click on the abort button, and all that happens is that the little error symbol pops in the lower left of IE. The names of the two files are "AddFamilyMember.php" and "AddFamilyMember.js".
I am using 2 ajax functions in the program. One for login and one for logout.The login one is showUser which is working correctly by using the form onsubmit method, however the logout button (IN BOLD) onclick method is not working.
I'm really struggling at the moment calling these two functions. The one function checks that all the fields are filled in and the other to validate the date in a certain format. The function that checks all the fields works but when I try to call the second one it stops working.ere's the code:
I have a message system that I want to prevent double posting. So when a user sends a message i would like to disable the button. But its done using AJAX and will load without much time. But enough to cause double clicking. So now the button needs to be enabled once Text is put in the Form Field.
I created a "cancel" button for my form at the clients' request, I accidentally copied a submit button and added an OnClick event- a very simple javascript.history function. It did not appear to work at all- it kept submitting the form. I changed the submit button to a plain old button and it worked fine.
Can anyone explain how the browser works with a javascript onClick event ona submit button? Does it automatically submit the form no matter what onClick event you use?
This is a follow up with a new question from a post I did last week. [Code]... I have an experimental website where I have music recordings. url removed When you open the site, each page uses a piano keyboard graphic to navigate between pages. If you click on a key that says "Jukebox" it will open a small window and continuously play tunes. The way the jukebox works basically is, when you click the jukebox key it calls an html file which contains the information needed to play the first song. When that song is finished it calls another html file with the information to play the second song and so on. Each html file contains an embedded Windows Media Player in it.
I would like to give visitors the option to use the QuickTime player. So I can have one key in the keyboard graphic that say “Jukebox – for Windows Media Players” and then another key in the graphic that would say “Jukebox – for QuickTime players”. I would like to use both keys to call the same html file. So, in the file I would like to:
1. Determine which key was pressed in the graphic. (how to send a parameter from the keyboard graphic file indicating which key was pressed) 2. With that parameter I would then like to invoke the appropriate player. (how to receive that parameter)
I've spend about 2 days writing this javascript code and it works great in IE only to find out that it does nothing in Safari/FF.
Here is my code:
<script type="text/javascript">function calculate() { var thetotal = 0; var silver = 0; var gold = 0;
[Code]....
Basicly what the script does is using some variables in my form will calculate a total price in real time when you click the "Calculate" button. Works great in IE, but in Firefox/Safari it won't do a thing..
I am wondering if it is possible to navigate anchor links using a button onclick event. I want next and previous hit buttons to navigate the already existing hits (#hit1, #hit2, etc.).For instance, I have:
<script type="text/javascript"> var numHits = {HITS}-1; function nextHit(){[code]....
I have seen working examples with the href tag (e.g. <a href="#" onclick="func();return false">), but nothing with buttons. I also can't seem to get the working href examples to work on my server.For instance, I cannot get this code to work, it just goes to js_required.html:
<a href="js_required.html" onclick="doSomething(); return false;">go</a> function doSomething(){ alert("test"); }
I have a web page with two forms, when I click the button on one of the forms, the onclick event goes to a javascript that emails the first form and then the second form. This is correct, this is the way I want this to work. It's simple, it's easy, it works!
However, it only works in FireFox and Internet Explorer, it will not work in Google Chrome browser.
I've spent many hours trying lots of various ways to implement this so I'm not interested in speculating about possible solutions that might work, I've already tried too many of those.
Also, it needs to work this way, not combining the forms, etc.
Does anyone have any tried and tested solutions that work with Chrome? code...
I am have an MVC app that generates a list of rows, of which one of the columns is a button. Here is the rendered HTML for the buttons: <input id ="btnUpdate21" type ="submit" value ="Approve" synchId ="21" /> <input id ="btnUpdate22" type ="submit" value ="Approve" synchId ="22" /> .....
Following is my selector that I use to bind the buttons to my click event: <script type ="text/javascript" charset ="utf-8" > $(document).ready(function () { $('input[id^="btnUpdate"]' ).click(promptForSynchDate); });
I have been trying to access the button Id, though what I really need is the attribute synchId, to use inside of a modal. I have so far been unable to access either one of them. My modal works fine. But the value of either attribute is always "undefined".
Here is my click event handler: (I stuck the alert in there just for debug purposes) function promptForSynchDate() { $(document).ready( function () { var test1 = $(this).attr('id'); alert( 'test1 is : ' + test1); $( '#approve-synch').dialog({ .....
Doing web page with ASP/VB.NET. Have text boxes for UI on page. Two command buttons - Submit (for db update) and Cancel. I need the Cancel button to prompt the user to verify cancellation. Need OK/Cancel buttons on alert. If user selects Cancel-no action. If user selects OK then I want the text boxes cleared of user text input and focus returned to first text box. I think this may be the code but do not know how to apply it.
function Clear() { var res=window.confirm("Please confirm cancellation-text boxes will be cleared"); [code].....
Is this code valid or invalid for the events I need? How do I set it to fire when user clicks the ASP Cancel button?
Trying to click (onClick) an animated gif image of an on/off switch to start a second animation which is located on a different location on the web-page (a 7-frame animation of a generator with moving parts) immediately followed by a random image selection function placing an image in a 3rd location on the page (next to the generator image). The random images are supposed to look like the result of the generator animation---the item that pops out of the generator.
We thought the process to achieve this would be an OnClick on the on/off switch-animated-gif to start two javascript functions (generato animation function & random image function). To further complicate matters, we are doing this website in iWeb. Were using iWeb SEO Tool to add the javascript to the header and HTML snippet in iWeb to place the HTML code. Not sure were actually doing the snippet right though---is it supposed to relate to the images---or is it separate? When the gifs are place on the iweb page, they work in the browser upon page load---the on-click & the random image function are NOT working...so we know weve done something(s) wrong.
Were thinking that were probably missing some code that describes where the 3 different image-spots are on the page (image #1 is the on/off switch gif, image#2 is the generator gif, image#3 is the generator output.png)....or just arent coding the string of functions correctly---or maybe our strategy for achieving this is just no correct (?).Here is the code we have tried that didnt work.
[CODE] script language = JAVASCRIPT> <!-- Hide script from old browsers function gif_animation(){
My question is : When I press the submit button, after the onclick function is executed, will the form be submitted too following the execution of onclick function?
As it's a charity, there are some variables such as whether or not to claim Gift Aid from the tax man. Therefore, various table inputs need to be optional. My initial thought was a longwinded dropdown of the various options. For example, if they want us to claim gift aid, the option to fill in name/address etc needs to become available. I just need to know how to disable the form section.
I would like to set up an image gallery so that when customer clicks on their chosen image, the image caption populates into the associated field in the form below the gallery, on the same page.
I am not really a coder, I only know this and that
