JQuery :: Animate Onto Screen Works, But Animate Off Screen Happens Instantaneously?
Dec 27, 2011I have a div that has a negative top margin and a negative right margin. The right margin is because I want to have the div slide onto the page from the right. The top margin is because without it my page height is the height of the visible elements plus the height of the off-screen div.On a button click, I move the div down and then animate it onto the screen from the right. On button click again, I animate the div to the right, off the screen, and then move it up. I also toggle its width & padding so it will appear to grow/shrink as it moves on/off screen. At least that's what I am trying to do. The animation onto the screen looks good, but going off the screen, it appears to happen intantaneously, instead of animatedDoes anyone know how I can fix this?

JQuery :: Make An Image The Height Of The Visible Screen?
Mar 10, 2011I have an image that I set to have a width of 100%. I want its height to be no greater than the visible height of the browser web-page area. This could distort the image, but thats OK. To makes things difficult, the image is in a div, and I want the div to be higher than the visible area. So I can't just set the div to height of 100%, and then within that set the image to a height of 100%. I know there is a javascript way of getting the height of the entire screen (screen.height) but that includes the extra areas of the browser such as toolbars etc. I know there is a 'offsetHeight' attribute, but I think I would have to use that on the BODY tag, and the BODY of the page could be several screens in height. So is there a solution to this? If there isn't then can I detect the aspect ratio of the screen?

Oct 21, 2010I've been trying to find a jQuery that will have buttons float from left to right onto a page, then grow a little / shrink back to normal size on mouseover.
I've found lots of things that are predominantly for drop down menus - that's not really it.
Using my (limited) javascript skills I've modified a script that moves buttons or divs onto a page but it looks very dull. Powerpoint-like even.

All the buttons need to do is jump to another page - the background image does not need to change at all / slide out or anything like that.
So basically what I'm looking for is a pointer to a jQuery thingy [!] that will do the above while looking a lot snazzier

Strange Border Appears In Js Image Flip
Jul 3, 2003I'm creating a tabbed menu navigation for a site. I'm using javascript to to give the tabs a mouseover effect. I also have a function that decides whether the tab has been selected or deselected by the user, and uses that info to determine which image file to use in the img swap.
The page works fine in IE 6, however in Netscape 6.2, when I mouseover the tabs, a thin border quickly flashes around each image as it swaps. It looks like the placeholder that's displayed for a broken image in IE, only with only the border and no red "x". I'm not sure why this is happening, as all the images have been preloaded.
The markup is XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Here's the js I'm using:

Mar 25, 2010I've tried the tutorials but I have never worked well with those -- I've always found it easier to actually be working with someone. But anyway. Basically, I need something sort of like this [URL] -- you click the thumbnail and the image appears in that predetermined spot. One thing, though: the images have to layer over each other. Like, you click image A, and it appears in the spot. You click image B, and it appears on top of image A. It'd be even better if when you clicked Image A it appeared and then you clicked image A again and it disappeared, but I'm going to try to start small.
I've gone through the tutorials and have a sort of ish understanding about what some of the parts of the codes do, and I've been told I'm a fast-ish learner, so I think I'll catch the hang of this quick.

It can be the default colors used in a basic drop down menu. I figure javascript would have more options though.

Jun 13, 2011I have some jQuery that inserts rows in a table, and currently just set the font colour of the new row to a highlighted colour for a second or so, to show the added row.I would really like to be able to make the new row grow from zero height to its normal height, rather than just appear, as this woudl look nicer. Similarly, when I delete a row, instead of fading to zero opacity, then being removed abruptly (which causes the rows below to jump up),I tried this using show() and hide(), which I thought would do it, but they don't. They fade the opacity correctly, but change the height in one jump.
