AJAX :: Submitting Multiple Radio Buttons With One OnClick?
Jan 15, 2010
I have a form that has multiple radio button groups to allow the customer to build a custom product. I just want to figure out how to send all the CHECKED radio buttons (name="flexikits[1]", name="flexikits[2]", ect.. ) when the customer changes just one of the radio buttons. The goal of this is so I can update the price for the KIT right then.
I am easily able to set the onClick for each radio and have it send that particular radio button, just no clue how to send more.
Code:
function showPrice(str)
{
xmlhttp=GetXmlHttpObject();
if (xmlhttp==null)
[Code].....
My best guess is there is javascript that I can replace for "this.value" that will send all the checked items in the form called "cart_view".

I have a set of radio buttons each with an onclick event that has a numeric value. When the button is clicked an input box called "Total" is updated with the new value. The problem I'm having is that if a radio button is checked and one clicks on it again then the onclick event is triggered.
Is there any way to prevent the onclick event from triggering if the radio button is already checked?

I have the following javascript code:
Code JavaScript:
for (var i=0; i < myRadio.length; i++) {
if (myRadio[i].checked) {
myChecked = 1;
[Code]....
This works fine when I have more than 1 radio button. However for just a single radio button it does not work. I don't know how many radio buttons I will have since they are being created from a mysql query.
I'm very bad with javascript, so how should I amend the code so that it also works with only one radio button? I just need to check if they are trying to submit the form without selecting any radio buttons.

I'm trying to create a questionnaire style series of radio buttons which are hidden and then a different set of radio buttons displayed depending on the previous answer. eg
Q1 Is it a man? (if select yes then display)
Q2 Is he called John? (if no then display)
Q3 Is he called Gary? and so on...
I've been testing using the code below but wondered if anyone had any ideas on how this could be done easily?

I have created a site that uses the ajax coding to go to the php page retrieve session data from a stored text file and return an array to the javascript. I then parse through the data in the array and fill in the text fields of the form using something like document.getElementById(fieldNameID).value; which of course works great for textboxs and dropdowns but now I have a set of radio buttons and they are also saved in the text file and when it is being returned they are not checking the right one. I am not sure what I am missing here is the code that populates the text fields Code:

I am using this code using AJAX. The probelm is no matter what choice is selected I always get the result grade=5.
<form>
<li><input type="radio" id="grade" name="grade" value="5" accesskey="5">Great</li>
<li><input type="radio" id="grade" name="grade" value="4" accesskey="4">Good</li>
<li><input type="radio" id="grade" name="grade" value="3" accesskey="3">OK</li>
<li><input type="radio" id="grade" name="grade" value="2" accesskey="2">Poor</li>
<li><input type="radio" id="grade" name="grade" value="1" accesskey="1">Oh, oh</li>
<li><input type="radio" id="grade" name="grade" value="0" accesskey="0">What is this?</li>
<li><input value="Study now"
type="button"
>
</li>
</form>
-------------------------------------
Now that a grade is entered it should be picked up by this text:
function createQueryString() {
var grade= document.getElementById("grade").value;
var queryString = "grade=" +grade;
return queryString;
}
-------------------------------------
function getNewTotals() {
var url = "getUpdatedSales.php";
url = url + "?dummy=" + new Date().getTime();
var queryString= createQueryString();
request.open("POST", url, true);
request.
request.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
request.send(queryString);
}
-------------------------------------
Why do I always get a result of grade=5?

I'm trying to get a radio button validation for different sets of radio buttons that simply contains Yes & No buttons.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
Question 1: if Yes, then (Alert 1) if No, then (Alert 2) (if Yes, then Question 2 appears) *Up to here I'm happy- can't figure out the rest*
Question 2: if Yes, then (Alert 1) if No, then (Alert 2) (if Yes, then Question 3 appears)
I need the Alerts to be swapped from this point*
Question 3: if Yes, then (Alert 2) if No, then (Alert 1) (if NO, then Question 4 appears)
Identical for Question 5, and for Last Question 6 Alerts swapped back again.)
Here's the script that I managed to piece together:

I am trying to setup a form with radio buttons. Each radio button has an OnClick event. When a radiobutton is clicked the current set of radio buttons will be replaced with a new set using document.createElement("input"). Each new radio button needs the same onclick event addedas in the initial set of radio buttons. I first tried:
element.setAttribute('onclick', MyFunction(value));
This, however, will somehow automatically trigger the onclick event! I searched on the internet and found this as the solution:
var new_onclick = function() { alert("this works!"); };
element.setAttribute('onclick', new_onclick);
This will give a "Object" is undefined error!

I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes.

I want the "play" button to perform ajaxSubmit (Form plugin) submitting a bunch of fields on the form in which these buttons are contained. This will start a simulation based on the passed in parameters.I want the other bottons to send signals to the server to control the simulation. They don't really need to send parameters. I presume I can just do this with something like jQuery.post().
Here's my problem. All of the buttons in my toolbar just submit the form, presumably because they are buttons declared within the same <form></form>. (I copied the code for these buttons directly from the jQuery UI demo toolbar.)My initial thought was to use the Form plugin somehow detect which button was clicked or something like that, but I can't figure out how to do that.How do I make the play button submit the form, while the other buttons do different jQuery.post() calls? Or is there a better way ofachievingthe result I want?

I want my radio buttons to become submit buttons as well. So when a user clicks on a radio button it submits the action and refreshes the page accordingly. As of now using only using onclick="this.form.submit()" the page only refreshes with no change. Here is a copy of the entire form. It is a custom shipping options form (I did not create it).
<!-- Custom shipping form -->
<form action="" method="post" name="update_shipping">
<table width="300">
<tr>

<input <?php if (!(strcmp($_SESSION['shippingmethod'],"1"))) {echo "checked="checked"";} ?>

I am using jquery with the cookie plugin and I have multiple image buttons that can hide/show multiple elements. My question is how can I add a cookie to this code to remember whether each separate element is opened or closed?
The code,
$(document).ready(function() {
// choose text for the show/hide link - can contain HTML (e.g. an image)
var showText='<div class="expanddown"></div>';
var hideText='<div class="expandup"></div>';
// initialise the visibility check
var is_visible = false;
// append show/hide links to the element directly preceding the element with a class of "toggle"
$('.toggle').prev().append('<a href="#" class="togglelink">'+hideText+'</a>');
// capture clicks on the toggle links
$('a.togglelink').click(function() {
// switch visibility
is_visible = !is_visible;
// change the link depending on whether the element is shown or hidden
$(this).html( (!is_visible) ? hideText : showText);
// toggle the display - uncomment the next line for a basic "accordion" style
//$('.toggle').hide();$('a.toggleLink').html(showText);
$(this).parent().next('.toggle').slideToggle('fast');
// return false so any link destination is not followed
return false;
});
});
HTML,
<a class="togglelink" href="#"></a>
<div class="toggle">

I've a page that has 2 forms. If the user clicks the bottom form the validations appear and everything goes red but the Top form is a required field but it doesn't as it's a separate form. How can I validation form0 and form1 together to show to the user the required fields. When the user clicks form0 it goes over to a pagedLIst, the user returns and textfield gets populated with the product that as selected. heres my form
<form name="cases" action="cases_process.php" method="post" onsubmit="return validate(this)">
<input name="uscan" id="uscan" value="n" checked="checked" type="hidden" />
<input type="radio" name="uscan" id="uscan" value="us" class="radial" tabindex="1" /><label>United States</label>

everything works up until the if(uscan == "n") so idk why it cant find what the value of the field is, because ive tested it and it seems to know even know what the value is.
