I am trying to follow this article on doing a POST request with AJAX and PHP and it works fine, but as soon as I switch from the default submit button to an image I get an error. why switching the submit button to an image would affect it. [URL]
I have a submit button and once I press it I want it to add a post value to my website. For example my website is www.something.net/test.php and once I press it I want it to refresh the site and becomes something like
[URL] In other words I want it to use POST and then using GET I can get the value of the POST. I have posted this under javascript because I believe I have a problem with the javascript I use. Here is the javascript and the button I use
Javascript
function reload(val) { //var val=form.accept.id; self.location='test.php?ca=' + val ;
I have acollection of local variables populated via Flash movies and scripts, and now I need to submit an ajax post (can also be get, but prefer post). I have tried:
The problem with this is the encoding of the localParam1 and localParam2 sometimes breaks the normal & delimeters. An even more problem is I sometimes haveupwards of 25+ local variables that I need to submit. These inline +s makes it feel, and look, like one huge hack - not to mention the encoding. One last restriction: I cannot use any jquery plugins due to the company's policy. So, I'm looking for something small and light as a solution - not a plug-in. Isn't there an easy way to do this? ONe thought I had was to create a new <form> on the page, and insert the variables as new <input /> fields - and then finally submit the entire form. Again, a big hack + css
I would like to submit a form depending on the success data of an ajax post.
Below is my jquery code; as you see #theform is the main form and before submitting the form I need to check the availability of the the date and time and the room using$.ajax. However it doesn't submit the main form if the date, time and the room is available.
required=["txtCal_Event_CalendarID","txt_TreatmentRoom","txtTreatmentID","txtTreatmentTypeID","datepicker1","datepicker2","timepicker1","timepicker2"]; emptyerror="Please fill out this field.";
I have a problem where if a form submission (set up to submit via AJAX) fails validation, the next time the form is submitted, it doubles the number of post requests - which is definitely not what I want to happen. I'm using the jQuery ValidationEngine plugin to submit forms and bind validation messages to my fields. This is my code below. I think my problem is that I need to unbind from the validationEngine plugin when the form fails, but I can't figure out how to do this.
I have a script that uses jQuery to POST data through AJAX to a PHP script, that uses that data to create a dynamic JPG image. The PHP script returns the binary image data as output using the PHP header image/jpeg command (so far so good).
Now I want to display that image in the client, but I haven't been able to find a proper solution for this yet. After reading up a bit I understand a possible solution would be to have the PHP script encode it in base64 and return the string to the client as a data URI. However, that solution won't suffice because it is not supported by IE < 8 and still limited to 32K images in IE 8.
For the moment, I am writing the image to a tmp dir on the server and return a filename to the client. However, there must be another way to solve this more elegantly through. how I can use jQuery/JavaScript to display the returned binary image data in the browser?
In the following code, I have 2 questions regarding submit button with image.
1) Does this code <input type="image" name="populate" src="populate.gif"> behave the same as an HTML submit button with image populate.gif? When I click p1 or p2 button, it will post the page to process.asp.
2) When I check the checkbox, I want the image in submit button change from populate.gif to validate.gif. Unfortunately, the code InputForm.p2.src = "validate.gif"; doesn't work. But InputForm.p1.value = "validate button"; is working for a regular HTML submit button. Code:
Here is what I want to do. I have a button to insert text into a textarea using JavaScript. What I want to have is the button show an image instead of text. Here is the coding so far...
I have four pages.two html, one js and one php. First page is loginTab.html. There is a tab called "Tab One" when user clicks on it there is a script inside this html page which calls function and loads an external login.html form using ajax. in login.html there is a form and include external js code for ajax functions. What it does is when the user enters email and password and clicks submit then it triggers another ajax function which send a query to php file and compare those variables there with mysql db and returns the message to a div which is in login.html. The problem here is when I enter email and password and clicks on submit button it does not display anything. I am providing all of my code below
loginTab.html <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]"> <html xmlns="[URL]"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <script> window.onload = initAll; var xhr = false; .....
I load into a div on index.php page via AJAX another php page. Once that page loads, I lose all the function of that page. For example, I click on the search or submit button and nothing happens.
I am trying to create a site using mostly PHP and MySQL and I have integrated some AJAX functions into the site to load new PHP pages into a DIV called "dynamic" on the index.php page without having to reload the entire page. This is working great.
However, when I use the menu with the following hyperlink <a href="javascript: addContent('sample.php', 'dynamic')"> calling the AJAX code to load the sample.php page inot the the DIV dynamic, the sample.php pages loads into the DIV but the PROBLEM is that the submit, and or search functions on the sample.php page stop working.
I believe that this has something to do with using the AJAX code because it is Asynchronous. Perhaps I need to use live or event delegation.
Since I am new to webdevelopment and trying to learn best practices if anyone knows a good way to load PHP forms into a DIV on perhaps a index.php page and then have the form controls still work.
Also I have been using NuSphere PhpED for an IDE which has helped me step through PHP and MySQL code to solve problems real well. However, I would like to get a recommendation on a IDE to use with Java Script and AJAX. Part of my problem with resolving this issue is that I can't step through the code to see what is not happening..
I am having the following issue, when I try using an image to post Icannot get the validation to run. When I click the button the formsubmits and nothing is checked. I've been searching all over the web One way of coding doesnt work and the other does. I have included both below.
$().ready(function() { var container = $('div.container'); var validator = $("#CustForm").validate({
I'm adding a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online form to a webpage. It looks like pretty standard html and Javascript. The Microsoft website creates the code automatically and it provides the html code snippet. I provides a standard dull grey button. I'm simply trying to change the standard grey button to a nice looking orange image.
I have the form looking great...only problem is that it doesn't work. I tried it with the standard button and it works fine. When I try to substitute the image, CRM doesn't get the submitted form information. Here is the applicable part of the code:
My form isn't returning any results when submitting the form if the user hits the <spacebar> or the <enter> key on the keyboard when tabbed over the image submit button.
In part of my form, I have 3 inputs (one textarea and two text inputs),I am validating their value format using AJAX (each input triggers error message on its label in case format is wrong). Also I have one button, "NOT submit button" (type = button).Now, when clicking on the button it must enter the value of those three inputs in my database in case they are true then all inputs values must be cleared. In case AJAX validation is wrong and in case the user clicked on that button, the value of fields must kept as it is.
Actually I can not use submit button because I have it for the whole form and what I am taking about is a part of the form and it's not possible to make nested forms as I know it violates html rules. It's easy to make it if I am taking about submitting button as I can view session values on fields after submission in case ajax returns error.I can clear inputs from Javascript, but it will be cleared on both cases if AJAX validation true or wrong. Each input field has AJAX Error message that will be triggered when the input format is wrong.
Am calling Webservice in one ajax post, In the success funtion am calling another another method in same webservice through another ajax post method. First ajax post is getting called and returning the string from the webservice method but the inner ajax call is not getting called. I have placed the code here.
On my form I have 3 submit buttons which handle different things.I am looking for a way to stop or continue form execution with a confirm box on the third submit button and the third only.I can't use onsubmit because that will trigger on all three buttons.
In the following .submit function, I am attempting to grab the value of the selected option in the facilityCodes dropdown list when I click the submit button and then during the submit function,select the facilityCode again in the dropdown list when the page reloads and then disable the list so that the user cannot change it.However,the situation is when I reload the page after the submit button is clicked the dropdown defaults to the first option and the list is enabled.I apparently am not understanding how.submit works so that I'm selecting the option I'm defining in my code below and then disabling the list AFTER the page reloads due to an error on the page. My question is how can I accomplish this?Here is my code:
$(function() { $("#ARTransferForm").submit(function() { var msgsCount = 0;[code]....
The following will submit the form data to popup by clicking the submit button. I want it will submit the form automatically to the popup, there is no submit button in this page. Basically this page should not show up.
I'm using mailchimps signup box (they don't have a decent forum to ask on) on my website and want to adjust the submit button and change it to a normal link. Here's the button that submit's the form:
I have a page with many forms that I need to change from a post to an ajax call. That part is working, no problem, but now I want to disable the submit button while it's waiting on the server response and then re-enable it when the response comes back.
I can't figure out what my selector should be to get the submit button of the form that's being submitted. What should I be using instead? Also, if the call errors out, I'd like to just post the form as usual.
I have a form without a submit button. It gets submitted programmatically with document.form.submit().
What I need is to be able to disable this form's submit capability on page load and then reenable it at some later point. Remember there is no 'input' button element.
Code: What I've tried so far is like this: savedSubmit = document.inputs.submit; document.inputs.submit = None; then later: document.inputs.submit = savedSubmit;
