Looping Through Object Fails

Apr 25, 2011

I have a list of input1's and inputs2's. The input ones are an accept button and the input2's are a deny button. However, I set up an alert to tell me the name of the input 1's but I am only told the name of the last input1 in my list.

I would like input1.name to show me... something like accept[3]. Where 3 is the uid of the user being accepted or denied. The name works when I look at the source code, but fails when I try to create the alert.

How can I achieve this result?

Code:

So what to do here, thats the question:

- You want to get the data of the button that has been pressed, if such function exists.

- Then use AJAX to send the form data to some file that probably doesnt exist yet.

- Give the PHP a responce, and echot he response to replace the buttons.

JQuery :: Evaluate Component Of AJAX Response After Injecting HTML Component In Page?

Nov 1, 2010

You have an AJAX request and the response is mixed HTML + JavaScript. The javascript is referring to elements in the HTML component. Currently the JavaScript gets evaluated first thing when success is triggered and the HTML is returned as a parameter. Obviously this is not going to work ( in this scenario anyway ). As a previous Mootools user I was used to Request.HTML's responseJavaScript parameter and evalScripts option. None of there options are available in the $.ajax implementation.

P.S. I know I could make the javascript a file and load it separately. I know I can make my response JSON and have the js and html in separate properties of the JSON object. I want neither.

I have a JS HTML editor (not a WYSIWYG) that I downloaded and it works fine, except that any input with quotes causes it to break. If the quotes are escaped with a , I get an "unterminated string constant" error, with this showing where a button should be

JQuery :: Eval Fails In Ajax Call?

Dec 4, 2010

I'm working on a weather api. A call to an internal PHP page GETs XML and returns JSON. However, I cannot get it to evaluate as an array:

(function($){
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: baseUrl + "weather_data/get_forecast",

Firebug (FF 3.5) displays the response in the JSON tagged perfectly parsed, but the code above fails.

JQuery :: Dojo Parsing Fails After Ajax?

Jul 19, 2011

Maybe it isn't really best practice (as it turns out) to use both jQuery and Dojo in the same application, but there are things I like about both libraries (for example jQuery is faster with animations, while Dojo has interface objects I like better). Nonetheless, best practice or not, I use both and that seem to create some complications.

The first time I load content via AJAX with jQuery DOJO seems to properly parse the checkboxes, datetime pickers, etc. which are sent with the new HTML. However, it seems the second time the parser won't react. I'm calling dojo.parser.parse() every time I load content with jQuery's $.ajax call. So basically my code looks like this:

Code:

$.ajax({
url: 'ajax.php',
success: function(data){

[code]....

It's like when an ID has been treated once by Dojo it doesn't want to do it again. there's a way to let Dojo know it has to parse the same IDs again?

JQuery :: AJAX Call Fails On Same Origin Domain?

Aug 1, 2010

I'm doing a JSONP query of a Wordpress database. Example call:[URL].. This code returns the expected data when executed on my local server. It also returns the expected data when I upload it to one of my remote servers. But it fails when run from the root of the domain it's calling, [URL]... no data is returned. (Behavior is the same for latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome.)

I think there's something really simple going wrong here but don't know what it is. The only clue I have is provided by Firefox: When run successfully, all of the GET's appear in the JS subpanel of NET. The failed calls, launched from the domain containing the database, are listed in the XHR subpanel with a status of "301 Moved Permanently".

JQuery :: Ajax Form Submit - Multiple Post/get Requests Caused When Validation Fails?

May 6, 2010

I have a problem where if a form submission (set up to submit via AJAX) fails validation, the next time the form is submitted, it doubles the number of post requests - which is definitely not what I want to happen. I'm using the jQuery ValidationEngine plugin to submit forms and bind validation messages to my fields. This is my code below. I think my problem is that I need to unbind from the validationEngine plugin when the form fails, but I can't figure out how to do this.

Json Object Size?

Jul 3, 2007

i have this user interface for a client that i have to mod (The UI is a link crawling monitoring for his website), the present one uses php database connection for every single action that is done on the UI (select link to be monitored, show link stats etc...) what we want to do is to have the links retrived from the database stored in a json object while the client is playing with the links on the UI (making all kind of editing actions) and then when he want to store all the modifications/actions he has made then the data stored in the object are sent back to the database...

One of my coworker's (he's a java and O.O. programming specialist) objection to that is that there are too many links (data) to put in a simple Json object... and it will be then difficult to store all the actions made on the json object because there will be too many info/data for it to handle etc...

JQuery :: Convert Object To JSON

Aug 14, 2009

In addition to fetching JSON you might want to POST it back to the server, but there is no postJSON method. You cannot use the generic ajax method, either. What is missing is the complement of "eval" to turn a JavaScript object in to JSON. The JSON.stringify function from www.json.org (see json2.js in JavaScript section) does the trick, but it would be nice if jQuery incorporated that out of the box, to save some hunting time.

Using the jquery ajax method to set the "type" to "json" and the "content-type" to "application/json" send and recieve JSON, but you must use JSON.stringify to convert your outgoing object to JSON. P.S.. a lot of forgiving parsers have resulted in a lot of articles on JSON being wrong. would I like to mention that here. Property names are JSON strings. JSON strings have double quotes. Therefore, property names have to be surrounded with double quotes. Single quotes are not JSON strings and not legal (JSON is not JavaScript).

JSON Appears To Be Reordering Object?

Jan 15, 2011

I have a PHP file that pulls down data from a MySQL database, filtered based on a tag ID. That data is then returned using PHP's json_encode function to the client where it is translated back using JSON's JSON.parse function. Seems to work absolutely great! Except... it seems to reorder my object completely by itself...

Here's an example:

When my query ends with ORDER BY posts.postid ASC, I get the following JSON:

Code:

{"type":"tags_posts","tagname":"json sort test","posts":{"100":{"reltags":{"201":"json sort test"},"subject":"JSON Sort Test 1","message":"JSON Sort Test 1","posteddatetime":"2011-01-15 07:25:34","authorid":"1","authorname":"azcn2503","commentscount":0,"postedip":"193.132.232.210","postedipgeo":"GB"},"101":{"reltags":{"202":"json sort

[Code]....

As you can see, it has been reordered somehow and looks exactly the same as when it is ordered ASC.

Is there something in the JSON file that I just can't see? I've been coding for a while now and could be going blind...
