Working With Stacked Div Tags Using Appear / Fade?
Aug 4, 2010
I have created a web page using tabbed spry in dream weaver. I then have an accordion with thumbnail images that I then want to make div tags appear / dissappear on clicking. The problem occurs when I want to click on something that is below a div tag I've shown. can't click any of the links on div tags under the top ones as they block them.
Is there anyway of making the div tags totally disappear so taht the urls can be clicked
aletheacarey dot co dot uk /hereyougo/new%202.php Click collections > firefly then the top thumbnail then the second then hide second and try the top thumbnails close button to see what I mean.
Can't seem to make it work, I have seen many examples but they are all just for 1 div tag. When i trymore than one it doesn't work anymore.The first one works, if i have more than 1 then the other don't work.
using the following jquery $(document).ready(function(){ $("#toggle-text").click(function () { var divvalue= this.value;
I want to create a horizontal stacked bar chart that it will support zoom in/out and mouse over events. I also want some times instead of colors to be able to use patterns. For the first part it seems that only dojo can produce those charts. In addition, i haven't seen any javascript library to support patterns in any kind of chart.
As the subject suggests, I'm interested in having a "picture/information" page on my site. I want a simple list of 5 to 10 thumbnailed pictures when the page loads in which each one is stacked on the other. I would like each to expand with a bigger picture and text information about the picture via user interaction. I have two options - I don't care which one I use:
#1. Once loaded, I would like each thumbnailed picture, once clicked, to expand and show a bigger picture and text information about the picture. I wouldn't mind using this option but this option is more of a hassle and causes more clutter/less interaction.
#2. As I thought about this, I think a better option would be to expand to a bigger picture and text information using a mouse rollover instead of a click so that, once a user moves the mouse back off the bigger picture and information, it reduces back to the thumnail. This would allow for a better organized and better looking page. This effect, I would assume, is almost like text links changing color using mouse rollover.
* Which option would you suggest using?
* Is option #2 even possible?
* I would prefer using option #2.
* I've experimented with this code (however, it used option #1, not #2, and it requires clicking an entirely different button to do so): Code:
function showMenu() { for(i = 0; i < max; i++) { setTimeout("document.getElementById('contextlinks').getElementsByTagName('UL')[0].style.filter = 'alpha(opacity="+i+")'",100); } }
This is supposed to increment the alpha opacity of the UL inside the DIV contextlinks by 1% every 0.1 seconds (for a fade effect). However when the function is activated, the opacity is set directly to 100% rather than increasing bit by bit.
What I want to do is to have the div "test" to disappear with a fading effect and removed when the "CLOSE" link is clicked or when the user has viewed it for 8 seconds. I tried everything but my site just seems to hide and remove the div "test" instead of fading away. Is there a solution to this problem?
So I am creating a page with unordered lists housing a large range of numbers. I want to dynamically create anchor tags and write them in before each UL. In FireFox it works just fine, however; in IE7 the anchor tags won't work.
I'm pretty sure this is a Javascript issue, despite the subject line of this message.I'm using Javascript to create a popup window on my site. Users click on the link and get a popup with supplemental information about the item they clicked on. Works great. The html link to open the popup looks like this:
<a href="javascript:popup(xMoreInfo_popup)" onMouseOut="clearEl();">Click HERE for more information</a>
...where "xMoreInfo_popup" is a variable that tells the "popup" function which information (html code) to display. This then connects to a Javascript function that looks like this:
var popupWin var wholeWin function popup(term) // write corresponding content to the popup window
[code]....
Now to my problem. This works as expected and just perfectly in IE. If the user clicks on the GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL link, it autoscrolls down to the supplemental information. In Firefox, however, it behaves quite oddly. Instead, when the link is clicked, the popup window displays the html from the original parent, rather than the information in the popup window! Now I can click on the original "parent window" link in the popup window, then it shows the popup information again in the same popup window, but autoscrolled to the proper place this time.
I want to use animate function(changing the top value of UI tag)for the ui tags with a speed of 6000.Well the top value does change for the UI tag but it the animation is not visible meaning that it moves very fast.Instead it waits for 6000 ms and then at the 6th sec it suddenly changes the top value without giving the animation effect. This problem i m having only for UI tag below is the code
$('#van-one li a').mouseover( function() { $('#van-one li ul').animate({top:"25px"},6000,"linear"); } );
Does anyone know why this isn't working? The toggle function works perfectly fine with PHP loops, but when I insert the table td tr tags, it does not hide the loop when the page first loads...It just shows the results in the div which it shouldn't be doing.
Here's what my code looks like...
JS
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function toggle(element) { if (document.getElementById(element).style.display == "none") {
I Use the regular expression to find the html tags present in the input box, It works properly in IE & FF but in chrome it works fine when use first time for an input box but not again, below my code...
I found this script for a navigation fade-in/fade-out and I want to modify it so it'll only trigger the fade-in/fade-out functions of the span class is NOT set to active. Here is the javascript:
Code: $(function() { $("#nav ul#menu li span.active").css("opacity","1"); $("#nav ul#menu li span.active").hover("opacity","1");[code].....
It's the part of the code beneath the comment CONDITIONALS BELOW that I want to be able to only trigger it if span is not set to class .active.
have this Multiple Image Viewer very similar, -in fact almost identical- to the one in the main page of economist.com It uses the following code and its woriking nice,
Code: function switch_product_img(divname, divnumber, divtotal) {for (var i=1; i<=divtotal; i++) { var showDivName = divname + '_' + i;
This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language
This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).
I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.
<a href="#"><img.... /><div>the info</div></a>
I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.
I am php developer,[URL]... a fade in fade out effect (image + text) which is working very nice but Can i do this like with text on top(not on an image)and image below it like header : text below that an image
example <table> <tr><td> header for image</td></tr> <tr><td> image here</td></tr> </table>
Can you pls suggest any other script to display an html page or pages like this just the way i had defined above in fade in fade out ....
I'm having problems with my text appearing aliased and turning blue when it fades in and out. I've tried using the Newsticker plugin and the Easyticker plugin, and I'm getting the same result in IE7 and Firefox 3.6. I'm using jQuery 1.2.6-min Specifying a background color doesn't fix it. The examples on the plugin websites look fine, but when I try and implement the effect myself, my orange text becomes aliased and fades to a light blue color before dipping to white. Same thing happens on the fade in. attached is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.
I'm learning javascript, and was wondering if it was Possible to have buttons/links that you click, the whole page fades out, and then fade's in, with different stuff. here are my ideas for just changing the stuff
Text: 1. having a javascript src file to start, and then when the button is clicked, that is formatted to white, the text layer is moved down, and a new javascript file is loaded?
This is probably a basic question as I am a beginner with Javascript/JQuery. Here is my code for the head and body elements, what am I doing wrong as nothing is happening. Is it my element id? I just want the whole dive to fade when the page opens and to fade in over mouse over. Here is the code:
Images are displayed one after the other with fade in and fade out .There are 20 images in slide show ....I want to show "Locading ...." message till all the images are loaded ...or display some GIF which will indicate the images are being loaded...
I would like to implement a fade in fade out effect on hover in the 'Our News' section, so when I hover over a news item the grey background of that box fades in slowly, how can I do this?
Is it possible to trigger the action of a form with a submit button that's outside the form tags? If so, how should this example be rescripted to make the input tag work outside the form tags?
