The Open Window in Javascript is not working properly in Firefox but is working in IE. What could the reason be?

After spending hours trying out many different examples that supposedly work with IE and FF, I've decided to post here :)
This is the code I'm using to catch the down arrow:
function is_int(event)
{
var Key = event.keyCode ? event.keyCode : event.which ? event.which :
[Code].....
And called using the following on the text input of a form field:
onKeyDown="is_int(event);"
This works in IE but still not in Firefox (3.5.7). Surprised as it has the .which in there - I thought this is what FF needed?
I am try to detect the mouse pointer by
var event = window.event;
var x = event.pageX;
var y = event.pageY;
This is working fine in IE, but in
Netscape/Firefox where event return undefined.
Can someone tel me how to detect mouse pointer
in Netscape/Firefox?
I want to execute some java script code when I close the browser.In firefox clientX and clientY are getting as "undefined"..

The problem is that this code is working on Google Chrome but not in Firefox and IE. Why is that and how can I resolve this issue.I am using Firefox 3.6.11 and IE 8.0.XX.Also I tried to open a new window using <a href> option with the same URL and its working but the only problem is that I want to pass my next JSP an argument which is only possible with function or script.
I googled it but couldn't find much information except that there is some security problem. For that I have disabled the 'Pop up Bloker' on both Firefox and IE but still not working.When I click my button there is no activity with 'Firefox' but IE gives me error as follows;
Message: Invalid argument.

i am using a link on clicking which a new pop up window should open like

var f_date=document.getElementById("f_date").value;

it is workin fine in ie6 and ie8 but in firefox on clicking it nothing is happening.
I have a<button>element inside of which I have 2<span>elements. I have 2 attached jquery click event handlers for each of the span elements so I can do whatever I like for each click. This is all working fine in Chrome and the click event is captured in the correct order: first on any of the span elements and then the event bubbles up to the parent button element. The problem is that in Firefox the click event does not fire for any of the span elements, just the button event handler logs the event as being fired.[URL]..

I am working on a Javascript application and i am facing a strange behavior of the application in IE. I am creating a table at runtime using DHTML and registering event for the table row click. When i deploy this application on web server and browse the application, the events fires in firefox and chrome but in IE the events are not fired. If i browse the application from the server with localhost, the application triggers the events and fails when i use machine name.

Firstly I know this issue has been addresses a lot already but as a newbie to HTML and Web Development I am unable to get the idea. according to documentations and solutions proposed on different forums a popup or child window can be only closed using window.close() if it is opened via window.open() function.

I have just downloaded the JavaScript HTML WYSIWYG editor TinyMCE. It works well except when I click on the link button or any other button that opens a window to add an element, nothing loads in the window.I have downloaded multiple up-to-date versions and non of them work. The examples on the TinyMCE website work for me. Also the examples that I downloaded work in Internet Explorer 7, Safari (for windows), Google Chrome, and Opera.It just does not work in Firefox. I even disabled all my add-ons and reinstalled Firefox.When i went to upload it to a server (the version I downloaded) it worked in Firefox.How do I make it so it will run in Firefox locally?

I need an event that checks if the size of a DIV has changed. The "resize" event works in IE but not in FF. Or, more precisely, The "resize" event works in FF but NOT for resizing DIVs. Is there an event that works like the "resize" event but also can be used in with DIVs in FF?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am doing some showing and hiding of unordered lists for menus. I like CSS and so I swap the id of the unordered list to either show or hide the <ul>. The code works fine in Firefox but not in IE6. I start with the <ul> hidden using <ul id="SubMenu1Hide">. I attach the evens to the onmouseover and onmousout events. The bug happens in IE when I rollover the element with the event attached it does not show or disappear.
The <ul> seems to stay hidden like it is the default, it will never appear. Here is the weird thing. If I start with the id="SubMenu1Show" the menu shows as it is supposed to, stays visible when I mouseover and then disappears when I mouseout. It then continues to work as it is supposed to, appearing on rollover and disapearing on mouseout.
I want the submenus to all stack on top of each other on the page and be hidden by default then only show when you mouseover it's main menu heading. Here is the code:

I have come across a problem that seems common with firefox and the use of event. I have a simple javascript function which trys to determine the element that an event was acted upon:
Code:
This is called on click of a input:
Code:
This seems to work correctly for every browser except firefox. A quick search online and all the fixes seem to include:
Code:
But when I debug this function, neither e or event are defined, am i overlooking something really obvious?
