I have four html form check boxes. The user is allow to choose one or three of the check boxes, the last check box has a value of None.
Example: What's your favorite color.1. Red 2.Blue 3. Green 4. Gray. 5. None. The user can select more then one color. So I'm wondering how can I make the other check boxes deselect when the user click None.So if the user select None, then the other boxes cannot be checked. know you can do this with radio buttons but I would like the user to select more then one option.
I need to validate three textboxes and it will validate for numbers. How should I change my code to validate three textboxes?
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >
[code]....
I need to use Javascript to validate 3 textboxes, whereby the users can only key in numbers (because they are phone numbers related fields). If any of the textbox is empty, display an alert message to show which textbox is empty. I do not want to show many alert messages to show that, for example, text1 and text2 are empty, it will show two alert messages. I would need to show one "summarized" alert message instead.
i have a list of checkboxes, the number of checkboxes is dynamic. All the checkboxes have same name. i am trying to get the length of selected checkboxes.
when i try to get the length in javascript like document.form.name1.length, it works fine if number of checkboxes selected are more than 1, but not for 1.
I have a code that I got from a tutorial website. The goal is when someone clicks the first check box with the value of yes then the two other sets of check boxes will autmatically be checked for no.
The issue is their are three sets of 2 check boxes each.
So here is my code code I am trying to use
PHP Code:
Here is my form code
PHP Code:
So Ideally when a representative clicks that the customer has three services (clicks the Yes checkbox) all the other checkboxes will default to No.
How I would change the above javascript to do this.
I'm trying to have a user input a number in a prompt box which gets totaled and displayed in an alert box. This is what I have and its not working out for me.
I'm absolutely terrible at coding javascript, it makes no since to me, I'm "ok" at html but I just can't get Java, but anyways. I'm working on an averaging code for a forum I apart of that has to take the selected number from 5 drop down boxes adding them together, dividing by 5 and displaying the result.
the code I have is barely half completed, but it's not to long just the same thing over and over with the drop down boxes, so I was hoping someone could help me with this. Or at least guide me in the right direction. Code:
I'm primarily a database programmer (Mysql and PHP) but I have some Javascript programming and I have been programming in other languages for over 25 years.
On to my problem:
I'm trying the create a function in Javascript which will take a variable from three different text boxes and show the net result in a fourth text box that is ReadOnly. This is all on the same page. All three text boxes have other Javascript scripts formatting the value in the text boxes.
I'm trying to make sure that when a user enters information into my textbox, that when the textbox loses focus then it checks to make sure that they entered numbers and not text or other characters. Numbers only....Any suggestions?
I have this java script code in my php file wherein I used this as my validator..for the inputs in different fields in my textbox. How to create a validation that only accepts letters... in my first name and last name field. I also wanted to know how about accepting numbers only in my field.
Here's the code: <script type='text/javascript'> validation and submit handling $(document).ready(function(){ $('#employee_form').validate({ submitHandler:function(form){ $(form).ajaxSubmit({ success:function(response){ tb_remove(); post_person_form_submit(response); }, dataType:'json' }); .....
This is an assignment I have for a course I am taking. The objective is to validate the zipcode of a form to ensure that it only contains numbers. I cannot get this to work. The teacher wants us to use the for loop to do this, otherwise I would use a different function. Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <meta charset="utf-8"> <head> .....
have a form with three fields for home phone, work phone & mobile phone.I've got jquery to validate that the numbers entered are the right format, i.e. using the following with custom methods for the phoneUK etc.The thing is I only need one of these numbers. I have been trying *all day* to try and get this to work but no joy. I know I need to group them somehow but can't figure it out.I want it so I get a single message if all fields are left empty and then if a field does have an entry then it's validated to ensure its a number.
I have searched the internet and couldn't find a problem regarding this issue. The thing I want to do is simply validate a text input so when you enter a number in it, it won't validate and give you an error message. This is the code:
The above code was copied from a Youtube tutorial about JavaScript.
I would like to ask, what additional code should be added in the existing code in order to validate the numbers only and an email format before the form to be submitted?
I need a regular expression to validate a string which consists of numbers, seprated by a period. For example: 123.456.7890.123 or
543245634.564362454.543543523.43532543
Basically, its a set of any amount of numbers, seperated by a period, ocurring any number of times. Now this is my first time dealving into regular expressions, and after reading some tutorials i came up with this:
I am constructing an HTML questionnaire and one of the questions requires people to rate some choices from 1 to 5, where 1 is their favourite and 5 is their least favourite:
Car Bus Taxi cab Train Airplane
Each choice has an INPUT TYPE=TEXT tag to contain the response. I also have a function that is called ONCHANGE in order to check that a number is entered between 1 and 5:
function CheckNos(obj) { if(obj.value.match(/[^d]/) || obj.value<1 || obj.value>5) {alert("Please enter a number between 1 and 5");obj.value="";return false} }
This works fine, but ideally I would like a function that could check ONCHANGE that someone has not filled in the same number twice, for example answered "1" for all of them. They are only allowed to use each rating number once, so rating their choice 1 to 5.
Can anyone suggest a short function that could accomplish this easily? Could I use some kind of array with 5 elements and allocate a flag value once that number had been chosen, then check that the value had been set?
I would like to add a plausability check for numbers with JS, but regex is not really a strong knowledge of mine. Can anybody give me a hint, or lead me to the right script for doing this?
Inside the form a user can place a price which I would like to be only a number, smaller than 100000 and there should no , or . be inside the value. otherwise they should see an alert message. Code:
If I click Box 1, it should also check box 2.. If I uncheck box 1 it should also uncheck box 2...I have to do it by id instead of name and cannot seem to get it to work.. These are input flags with type=checkbox....
I'm working on a website where users can add films to a film directory through a form. One of the fields that can be filled in is a "Release date" field, where a correct release date can be filled in. The form uses dropdown boxes for selecting the date; this is much less confusing in terms of how to format the date than if one would just use a text input field. Here's a screen shot:[URL]..
I've been looking for a Javascript script that does three things:
1) Validate the entered date (i.e. no "31st of February" dates).
2) Check whether the date entered doesn't exceed today's date (so no release date in the future is allowed). This could be combined with PHP to find the today date.
3) If the "I don't know the release date" box is checked, simply skip the whole validation process (no need to validate something that won't be used).
I've been looking for Javascript code that does this, and I found a couple of scripts (like this one) [URL].. /date_validation.asp), but they all make use of text input fields where the user has to input it in a certain format (mm/dd/yyyy et cetera). This is not what I'm looking for, but having zero knowledge of Javascript I am completely unable to write my own code or adapt this code to what I want.
I already figured out the PHP that does all of the above, but I would also very much like to have some code that checks the date before the data is processed so that users who have made a mistake don't have to fill in the whole form a second time.
I have a form with a text box where users can enter a 10 digit code. The 10 digit code can be just numbers/letters (eg. 0123456789 or abcdefghij) or it can be a mixture (eg. 0a1b2c3d4e). What I would like is if the user enters a code which is a mixture of numbers and letters then the submit url goes to mixed.php If the user enters a code which just has letters or numbers then the submit url goes to sole.php change the url from selecting radio buttons.
