Use InnerHTML In Script File To Send Some Text To A Div In Html, Disappears?
Jun 8, 2010
I'm a student and am trying to write some very simple code. My problem is I use innerHTML in my script file to send some text to a div in my html. When it's sent it renders and then quickly disappears. I've attached my code.There are two separate "files" .html & .js:
<?xml version = "1/0" encoding = "utf-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE html Public "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">[code].........
I wanna send a file thru the JQuery.load, I want it to work exactly like the regular post without the JQuery. So I can check the $_FILES['file']['error'] in PHP and all its features like I do without using JQuery.
$("#load").load('gerenciar_itens.php',{/* This is where I wanna pass the file. */}, function(data){ alert(data); });
I have a jwplayer in my page, and I've placed a short text describing it underneath it. Works fine in FF and Chrome, but in IE the text vanishes after you click the "Allow blocked content" permissions to allow activex controls.This is what it looks like:
Here is my description text.<br/> If I place the text above the object, then it shows up fine. I'd rather not put it there, but I can if I can't figure the problem out.
Im new to JS. Im having a problem with special character (im from Denmark where we useWhen embeded the text doesnt include the special characters. I know why but I dont know how to resolve it.My HTML looks like this:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I'am trying to create a text, which moves from the top to the bottom and the text which disappears at the bottom, comes in at the top. <div id="myFloatingText"> | V Here is my text which should be moved down and the line which disappear at the bottom should appear at the top. | V </div>
Quote: <script type="text/javascript"> function emptyTitle() { if (document.getElementById('title').value=='Enter the Title for Your Post') {[code]......
However, the text that appears is black. How do I style it to make it gray and smaller?
I have written the following code to read contents of a text file using FileReader object of HTML 5 for Google Chrome.
<script> function handle_files(files) { var i; if (checkBrowser("Chrome")) { for (i = 0; i < files.length; i++) { file = files[i]; var reader = new FileReader(); ret = []; reader.onload = function (e) { console.log(e.target.result) }reader.onerror = function (stuff) { console.log("error", stuff) console.log(stuff.getMessage()) }text = reader.readAsText(file[i]); alert(text); }}} </script> <input type="file" multiple="multiple" onchange="handle_files(this.files)">
Unfortunately, the variable text always displays as undefined. Everything above the line text = reader.readAsText(file[0]); works fine. Is there any other solution to read a text file using HTML5/JavaScript on Chrome?
I want to have some text in an html file, but I don't want to have several paragraphs in that file. Can I use Javascript to insert text from a different location? If so, how do I do that?Can it really be impossible? I mean, you do it with pictures all the time... I just want to do it with text instead...I can't post any code because I don't know how to do it. >_>" I've been trying to find stuff online, but most of that was to put a whole window inside it, with scrollbars and stuff.
I'm having trouble figuring out why my image is disappearing when the user clicks on the arrow image to expand text for viewing. The arrow image only disappears if the link text is is more than one line. It remains if the link is only one line of text. Here is the code:
I have a basic search box that I want filled with light gray text that says <enter search query> or similar, and I want it to disappear when the box is clicked on. I also want the '<enter search query>' to reappear when the page is reloaded.
Now that is fine when the text is only one line long. Suppose it's longer? What I want to do is have Javascript give the variable contentString its text from a hosted text file in a similar manner to the way Javascript can insert more Javascript using a hosted .js file.
I illustrate what I need to do using some "dummy" javascript:
I have the cycle plugin running, works fine on all but IE7 (not catering to IE6). The pager elements on the right do not appear in IE7. I have tried adjusting the z-index, etc., but can't figure it out.
Also, the caption text transitions in with bolded elements properly appearing, and then they flip to regular text (the whole line of text transitions a bit strangely).
I am trying to pass a php variable to a javascript file via a link. The link is set up as follows: <a href="video-details.php?src=<?php echo $row_videos['YouTube_Ref'];?>">
The javascript variable is a s follows:
Code: var id = 'flash'; var src = "<?= $src ?>"; var params = {allowScriptAccess:"always"};
I want to update a div using innerHTML and take the data from an external HTM file residing on my server. The purpose is to have a series of links in the div content_left that when clicked dynamically change the div content_right. That will allow me to create individual pages for the dynamic content rather than including it all on the original page.
1. http:www.uploadify.com/ 2. http:valums.com/ajax-upload/ Which related with upload file.
I a bit confuse on What different between Applet and Plugin? How the file can send from the client PC to the server? By the way, do DIC have the sample source for this? If no let me do it for the new one here.
After remembering that you can bypass any MAILFORM skulduggery by just putting 'mailto' in the form code along with your address, I've come up with the idea that it might just be possible to take the contents of each field and then write out an HTML page using that info and maybe have a few picture links alongside using Javascript and its variables.
If you don't understand, I'm thinking about e-cards. I do not have access to any CGI or ASP or anything on my host (it's free, though not Xoom or anything). Therefore I'd like to write an HTML email including a greeting and picture directly from a form after gathering the visitor's send details and greeting.
What advantage does adding elements via document.createElement have over writing markup naturally with innerHTML?
[Code]...
The latter method has much more overhead and is considerably more difficult to write with. However, there must be an advantage of some sort to doing it this way, but it's not exactly clear to me why.
I have two variables that I would like to use jQuery serialize and send to a PHP file with a post. I don’t know how to format the command to serialize them. Here is the start of the code. How do you serialize the day and month variables?
var currentTime = new Date() var day = currentTime.getDate() var month = currentTime.getMonth() + 1
