The user browse for an image in their computer and click open, th
image to be upload is preview on the img tag.
The script works fine with IE, but does not work with mozilla Netscap
bowsers.
Does anyone knows what could be the problem?
Does the ONchange function works in Netscape?
Or anyone knows a tag that can preview the image file before uploadin

but i am not able to preview this image on mozilla so please provide me the solution for this or if it it possible using ajax then also please provide the solution. the altimate goal is: the local image which is suppose to be uploaded should first be previewed to the client or uploder.

Dec 15, 2010I have a page with 5 file inputs and 5 img tags i have everything working but preview of course changes all the img tags so no madder what browse button i choose all fixed img tags are updated with that preview.here is a code i found and messed with a little cant seem to figure out how to add a loop or something to update just the called tag

i went through this code file and the change does not appear to be where the change should ocur im sure its in the actually script need to loop through the images[] field i would think like i would in php The only thing i could think to do is paste the script code 5 more times and change each variable to 1 2 3 4 5 but then ill have a big php code page there would be a way to make this work i would think

Jun 4, 2011i am trying to make a script that will display a preview picture when the cursor hovers over a link. i have the basic functionality down but noticed that I should probably have some kind of delay so the user is not ambushed when they move their cursor over the links. i figured i could just implement a setTimeOut() function but i can't seem to get to work. i am including the source of what i have so far.

Preview Of Image Picked For Upload
Sep 22, 2010I have a form where visitors can upload an image. Rather than showing the form data and image again with a "are you sure you want to upload this stuff" button, I thought it would be neat to show a preview of the image next to the "browse" button after they indicate which image they want to upload. I'm guessing this is not possible given the image is on their systems?.?.

May 24, 2009I wanted to do an Ajax script to resize and preview and image in an html form. Well, I didn't find how to do with Ajax, so I had to use php.The issue is that JavaScript cannot manage a file field to get the selected file and send it via Ajax. The only way to send a file is submitting a form. To not send all data of the form, the file field must be a separate form from the rest of the data. So it can be automatically sent to a php script, which resizes the image, uploads it and then can display it in a iframe without reloading the page.
Then you have the resized image previewed in the form without submitting all data. And then you can send all data with Ajax, including the path of the previously uploaded image, which is stored as a variable in the iframe.I use one html file and two php scripts, which in total are less than 20 KB.

Sep 16, 2010From the little I've read in this plugin's source code, ajaxSubmit() switches to "iframe mode" whenever it detects a file link in the form. The file is uploaded fine, but the server, which normally replies with different content. based on HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH header, fails to do its thing. This header is normally set to "XMLHttpRequest" on normal jQuery .ajax() calls.
The server I'm running is on rails, and I'm using the "request.xhr?" test.
I admit I'm not too familiar with iframes (or jQuery, for that matter:), but surely there must be a way to get around this, so that this can act as a simple drop-in replacement. Should I be looking at other headers, like "Accepts" or the kind, or should the plugin (or my code) be forcing the HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH header?

The script works fine when the requested XML file is stored on the same server as the script.
The problem is when I try requesting an XML file from an external server such as the National Weather Service. I get an error. If I take the XML file from the National Weather Service and save it to my server it works. Why can't I use my script to request XML files stored on external servers?

Mar 11, 2010I'm trying to write a script that will be loaded from one server into a website on another server. This script is trying to talk (ajax) to the server that it comes from but I'm getting "Access Denied" errors. I'm well aware that cross-domain calls are not allowed for security reasons so my question is how does Google Analytics work because essentially thats what I'm trying to accomplish. I can embed a Google Analytics script into my website and it'll gather data and send it back to Google.

Resolve Relative Server Links When HTML Source Is Not On Server
Feb 10, 2010I would like to open an html file locally (not fetch it from a server) and somehow use javascript to fetch the relative resources from the server. One solution would be to convert all of the relative links to absolute links. I can convert the html source file anyway I wish, but ideally I would like to modify the html source as little as possible, for example insert a function that modifies the result of the src attribute. How would I go about this? Is there any trick I can use to define where the relative home is? Am I going to get into any scripting security gotchas?
