Ticker Scroller Doesn't Work In IE8

[URL] The ticker below the navbar works fine in FF and Safari, does not work in IE8 (and mostly likely other IE version as well). In IE, the live page will not even load; will load locally but the ticker doesn't work (remains static). Here is the .js:

I have been looking for rss scrollers/tickers which go horizontally, I
have found one which goes vertically and is very good, but I have no
idea how to change this to go hoirzontally.
Does anyone know of a script I can use to solve my problem.
Obviously it is impossible to show the script I am using for the
vertical one as it is made up of several files.

I have a question about this scroller/ticker script (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/mikescroll.htm) I'm working with. I'm able to get the script working on it's own page, but when I put into my HTML I'm having an issue where all the test lays on-top of each other and the scrolling is broken (see attached image).

The text is yellow..size 10, yet whatever font family i specify, will ALWAYS appear in the font Georgia (in the browser im using, Firefox.) in both Opera and IE, it comes out Times New Roman! this is a real rooky problem, but i am a rooky and i'd just like to understand why, and how to ACTUALLY get Calibri.

Is it just extraneous code possibly? It seems to be ok (from right to left) in Firefox 3 but using IE and Opera, it scrolls from btm to top and I cannot figure out why.

This is funny cuz I just got done saying this morning that everything works in FF.
Well...I guess I don't know what I'm talkin about. What I'm trying to do is pretty simple. I just want to use this code to put in a ticker message at the top of my page. Just a static message. It works great in IE and Safari, but in FF it just sits there and doesn't tick. Firefox does display my 'TICKER_STYLE' changes tho. This is where I got the code from www.mioplanet.com. Below is the javascript from webticker_lib.js code...
Here is what I've tried so far:I've tried moving the <script></script> piece all over the place. This includes the head.
I took the javascript piece for if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("MSIE")!=-1 ...{ ... and tried that with "Firefox" I changed some tags around. Don't recall all of what I changed there, but nothing worked. I have a feeling it's tag related because in the webticker_lib.js I changed 'var tickerSupported = false;' to true and that didn't work. Also, I know it's recognizing my browser as FF because I took the 'indexOf("Firefox")' piece out and it then displayed the 'else {' markup without my css changes.

i am using an image scroller and i have it on three pages, the pages use the same header, the same css and the same basic structure.such as
table
content
footer
the problem is that the scroller works fine on two of the pages but does not work at all on the one page.here is what i am getting on that page

the only common denominator i can see is that the page it does NOT work on is in fact a photo manager page, the other two (that DO work dont deal with photos)i checked the array and the js vars and stuff are different from my photo manager vars (php) so i was thinking maybe there might be a clash of some kind accessing the queries at the same time when the page loads but i dont get any errors other than these.by the way the scroller is black not grey like the others for background.does it sound like from the errors that i am getting that it might be a db query clash of some kind.

The "Permission denied" cross site issue.
I have to check from my external domain if a service is running on localhost:8080 of a local machine.
I'm using XMLHttpRequest to do it.
I'm checking a local-web-server, not a file.
Every browser doesn't work, but Firefox. So I'm looking for a work-aorund.
An iframe? a flash swf? an applet java? HTA applications?
A side question is, why does FF work? Because it's a local-web-server?

I have created a multiple upload function using Flash and JavaScript. I have checked it in all webbrowsers (including Safari) on my computer (windows) and it works fine! Bravo for me! However, I have asked a friend to check my upload function on her Mac, but for some reason it fails. I have no Mac to test ... but does anybody know why the application fails in Safari running on on Mac OS? I understand this is a difficult question without knowing the exact error, but why does it work in Safari on Windows, but not in Safari on a Mac. Is Mac using other standards/conventions for JavaScript or something like that?

I've got a form textarea on my site, which after being submitted is stripped by my php file.
Then my javascript kicks in and does some analysis of the entered text. However everytime the user entered a hard return within the textarea my javascript gives me an error 'tekenreeks niet afgesloten' which means something like 'string is not closed'.
Therefore I decided to replace all occurences of chr(10) and chr(13) with ok2 (just some random characters), I did this with php which worked fine, and I didn't get the javascript error.
However I need to reshow the entered text (original) to the user, so I need to restore the old values. I tried result.waarde.replace('ok2', 'chr(13)'); but it doesn't work, as it still displays ok2.
I'm no expert in javascript, but how can I replace those characters by the hard returns?
Oh yeah I'll show some more coding, perhaps the error can be found there code...

I've done some small adjustments to my clients site, but it won't show properly in IE (the shadowbox js at least.). I thought js was accepted in all newer browsers.why it doesn't work?I use mootools, and shadowbox/corners and rightclick blocker.Is it generally a 'bad thing' to use js in webpages I want everyone to view in the same way? I tried the same effects with CSS but it's not supported in the same way corss-browser, unfortunately. The 'no selection' CSS class I have on the site is also not accepted in IE.

I am having problem making to work 'insertBefore' on IE 6. I have tried to find online solutions but I faild to do so. It works fine on Safari, FF, Opera, but not IE 6. I want to use the following code on my web page but, it doesn't work they way I want it to. Firts, I want the pop up window to close after a certain amount of time but, instead of the pop up closing, it closes the previous page (the main page).
Second, I want to add a close button to the pop up window but, it appears on the main page also.

In my website i have a javascript to "slide" 3 pictures in my header. You can see that here: [url]....And that's fine! Now, i want to create a new page with more detailed info about the cars. Next to the info i want more pictures. And to present those extra photo's i wanted to use lightbox.Now, when i'm adding the new js just like they said.

Sorry if this isn't exactly the right NG for this, but I thought you guys would know better than anyone else.
I have 2 computers networked. The internet connection is dial-up, and I'm using ezProxy to share the connection. Both computers are Win98,and both have IE6.0.
The main PC works perfectly, but the second PC's browser doesn't recognize Javascript at all! I've gone through every setting imaginable, and haven't found any reference to Javascript that was
incorrect.
Anybody have an ideas?
