Sorting Tables In PHP Isn't Working
Nov 24, 2011Not really sure why this isn't working. I've mirrored this webpage from a friend's page - everything is literally identical, save for the references to the databases. His works, and mine doesn't. Here's an example of one of the tables I'm trying to sort:

Body Using Variable Defined In Header?
May 2, 2011My site is run on wordpress, but I'd like to customise the menu so that if the user is logged in the menu displays "Logged In" and if they are not it displays "Log In".Normally I would just use an if statement in PHP to output the required html, but as I can't use PHP code in the menu item I need to use Javascript. :mad:So, the way I figured this would work is:1) PHP code in the header checks to see whether the user is logged in2) This code then outputs JS to define a variable (varCheckLogin)3) JS within the menu checks varCheckLogin and outputs the html i wantThis sounds good hopefully. :DUnfortunately this isn't working at the moment. The code I have is:HEADER: (I know this works as the variable is being output correctly in the source code)

External Header - Show/hide A Set Of Divs In My HTML BODY
Oct 8, 2010I would like to learn jquery but have already stumbled upon a little problem.
My whole website is programmed in PHP. On every page I include my header.php containing the header, login bar etc. I am now trying to show/hide a set of divs in my HTML BODY.
Now I understand that I need to put my jquery code in my HTML HEAD tags, however, I don't want to put it in my header.php because then the jquery will be included in all my pages.
Evening Out Tables - Table On The Right Is Not Even With The Table On The Left
Aug 31, 2011As you can see, the table on the right is not even with the table on the left. This code has worked in the past,

But that only works for a static page. The problem is now, both tables, the one on the left, and the one on the right, are dynamic. Either could have different heights depending on what page you are visiting. Different pages also have more than one table, and the only way I could see this working is with a million if statements or each page, defining each table being used. Is there anyway to get these two tables evened out, no matter the content using JavaScript?
Sorting Table Data Rec'd From DB
Nov 13, 2006I mainly do LAMP programming, and as such don't have much experience with JavaScript.
I'm looking for a simple function that will allow the user to reorder search data gotten from a database and displayed in a table.
Meaning, the user clicks on one of the column headers, and js automatically resorts the results. I've seen some stuff online, but none of it seems to really work.
Can anyone point me to something in the right direction?
Access Row Data From A Table Within Tables?
Apr 22, 2010I have a table within a table, that is to say the table is embedded in a <tr> tag in another table and would like to extract row and cell data to make an ajax call. The table in question has several input fields and a submit button on each row. While I can find the table where the submit came from and can get the data from the <td> elements which contain data i.e.<? echo AsOfDate; ?>, I can't find the correct syntax to retrieve the data from the input fields in that same row. Can someone give me the correct syntax to retrieve the input data?

Sorting Columns In A Table Or Form
Jul 20, 2005I need to be able to create a 2 column table and then based on which column
header is clicked on, sort the list by that column so that each table row is
sorted properly. If possible there might be more than one line in the row
and I would only want to sort on the first line in a given row. Can this be
done using JavaScript. If so, which entities do I need (A table? A form?)

Jan 17, 2011I have to sort a table where few columns are dynamically generated .I searched the net and came out with sorttable.js included in my jsp file . then called this function in <body>onload event as initTables('id_of the table"); It was working out for me..I have some columns which introduce the concept of hidden columns so when I try to hide it instead of hiding it just sorts..Is there a way to not to sort the first row alone becoz my first row is the total amount. I do have expand and collapse columns in my table I am not able to sort the parent row get sorted along with the child rows. I want the parent row to be static and only the child rows getting sorted ..

JQuery :: Get Table Header Value When Td Is Clicked?

When a particular 'Y' is clicked I need the header value. I can detect the click but I am not sure how to get the header (the day value). It appears that the click event is passing the 'Y'. Does the click event pass other information that can be used to get the header value?

I have a div high 200px and the table itself is around 300px so when I scroll down I'd like to always see the header on top. I already use for the table tablesorter so the solution must be

In other words, regular sorting.I've tried a couple jquery plugins and they work just fine, however, the table that I'm working with is somewhat different to a regular table, because it will display 2 values (prices) in the same column for each row.

Feb 2, 2006I'm trying to create a table that has a fixed header but the table contents can be scrolled and also sorted by column headings.I'm already using sortable.js (http://www.surfmind.com/musings/2003/12/01/) library to sort the columns.I can find examples where I can scroll the table with fixed headers, but most of these use a dual table approach, with sortable.js, I think only one table is required. I've found examples how to scroll within a table element using autoflow and scrolling using CSS that I can't follow (I'm new to all of this).How can I get the contents to flow with a single table? Forgive me if it's too easy. If you can help me with a solution, you can ridicule me 'til the cows come home...I'm ok with that. Here is the basic table I have layed out.
