Resize A Text Display Box On Link Click?

i have 3 text display boxes: (they were originally meant to scroll, but the scroll bars look really ugly with my page)

I'm looking for a solution somewhere along the lines of putting a link in the text box, and when that link is clicked, the text box expands to about double? and then the background image repeats-y (i can manage this part i believe) and then the text is replaced with whatever i want. I havn't worked in javascript (or html) in a long time, so im quite rusty.

Well here's the thing I have a div named "content", and another div class named "resizeme" (for a link). When I click the resizeme link rollover. I want the div to toggle from it's original dimensions of 300x200. However all I got so far is you click the link it goes fullscreen, and from there I can't remember how to make it toggle so when I click the link again it'll go back to it's original size.

I would like to display file extension along with the file links on a web page. For example, I would like to append (pdf) next to any pdf links. The following code works to some extent but not as I intended. $("a[href$='.pdf']").append(" (" + 'pdf' + ") "); If I use the above code, (pdf) is also underlined being part of the link. I want (pdf) next to the link and not as part of the link.

I have been working on some javascript code that will display text when clicked in a spearate div. I have got this to work but am struggling abit with additional groups of text on the same page.

I'm trying to scale the text with the size of the window (I've also got all the layout sizes in ems, so this should keep the aspect ratio of everything the same as the window is resized). The code that I've got at the moment doesn't do anything -

I have finally gotten my text to change when the links are clicked, but they switch make immediately, instead of when another link is clicked.I used code 'jscheuer1' posted on dynamicdrive which worked beautifully on the test page. When I attempted to adapt it to my site, the above happened.

my question involves text appearing upon a button click or after a set time.
I have the following code:

I guess document.write is not the correct command to use in such situations, since it just replaces the whole page.
Which command should I use so that the wanted text appears within the page, without reloading or replacing it?

Lets say I have a bunch of links with the same class but different anchor text like [code] When the page loads I want the anchor text of each link to display the same text of my choosing. However, when the visitor clicks a link the anchor changes back to the orignial. It would be best if all links could be changed back their original if any link is clicked but this isn't necessary.

I have to display an image in a fixed spot on my web page. The images are submitted by users, and I have no control over their size (width and height). If the image is wider than 130 pixels, I need to display it with an IMG WIDTH=130 to fit the spot. If the image is less than 130 pixels, I want to display it as is.
Is there a way with Javascript to retrieve the width of the image before the image is displayed by the browser? I know I can preload the image, can I then look at the width before the HTML displays it?

I have a situation where I'm sending full sizes images to new windows from linked thumnails. Using _blank, the window is rendering at a very small size, and the image scales to that size on some browsers.
I want the window to be larger when it comes up, and the image to display maximized (not scaled). I know how to resize the window from javascript in link-side docs, but not in linking-side docs.and no idea how to max the presentation of the image.

I currently have multiple combos ofimage with a description text below it.I want to lay them out inrowsand inline. So if the width of page is not enough the next one should startbeginning of next row. Each image and text is currently house by a div with float left and a set width, but if you look at the attached screenshot (1.jpg), The Oracle - eBusiness Suite gets stuck because of the differentsheight due to text size and if I set a height too, then some of the text gets covered up (2.jpg). I was thinking if I can maybe use J Query to automatically adjust height to divs on the same rowto fit the biggest text size on that row?Evenjust changing all divs to that heightbe would be ok if it'seasier.

I have 3 items in menu. For example-
Training qualification seminar If I click Training link,it should display the web page of Training in the same page itself,where this menu exist.If I click qualification link,the web page of qualification should be replaced in the same page. similarly for seminar link.

I am not very familiar with AJax, and for simplicity sake, I am trying a simple code. When I click the text box it should change the text and display "hello there", but it did not change. Is there something wrong with the code? I know this can be done with out using AJAX, but I want to test AJAX.page1.php

I want to call the click event of the link (anchor tag) on the click of the button. I used this code below in the click event of button to call links click event and it works fine in IE.
document.getElementById('linktag').click();
But, this doesn't work in Firefox. I googled a bit and found that in firefox, you have to do something more to achieve this behaviour. So, I ended up doing this on button click to work in firefox:

The above code does the click on link when I click on the button. But my problem now is that I have defined a link as

and when click is called and mailto links opens my email client, it somehow ignores the subject and body parameters of the link. It works properly when i actually click a link element. but it doesn't work when i simulate the click event by code written above. above dispatching event code somehow ignores the link parameters?

how to resize a div containing some text by setting a width and height so it would stretch to fill that area like an <img> tag? E.g. when you set the width and height attribute of an image, it resizes the image to fill that area. I do not wish to send a request to a php script to build an image containing the text since it will be slow and affect the scalability of the web app. Oh, and I would preferably not like to use html5 because it is a requisite that I need compatibility with ie7+ (and firefox/chrome).

I have a page that needs to have accessibility features for people with poor vision, namely, I need them to be able to resize the text across the page.

I know you can do this through the browser, but my company wants me to have it in the page.
Also, I've used most of the code from our head office, but I can't figure out why it won't work on my page.
ps. Also most of the other javascripts on the page are not working (like the contrast, but I'll tackle one thing at the time).
