I'm popping a window with media player playing a video inside. Trouble is, even though I've told the window statusbar=no in it's defined size, within mediaplayers code is a param showstatusbar=1 so the popped window thinks it's now supposed to show the status bar when only the mediaplayer is.
I have a situation where a bit of script needs to pop up another window, and then call a script in that new window. My conundrum is that the script should not be called until the new window has rendered completely. What's the best way for the new window to tell its opener that it is fully rendered? The thought that occurs to me is having a script at the bottom of the new window that calls a script in the openening window that then calls the "real" script in the new window. The obvious solution (having the new window just call the script itself) isn't feasible because the opener has the information that the new window's script needs. Is there a better way to do this? I apologize if I've explained my situation poorly.
In my main window, I create a popup window. Is there a way to bring the main window back to the foreground (make the main window the focus window again) from the popup window using JS? Like from a link or a button?
Everything about the window is correct except it is NOT resizeable - the top right expand button is insensitive and the window borders cannot be grabbed and dragged - WTF????
I have several form inputs with a submit link in a modal page, and when I click the submit link I call this function to download a personalized pdf with the GET params.
Is there anyway I can link a piece of text through a URL, while passing parameters to it, but through POST (so that the clients can't see what params im passing)? I want to do this without using forms, like:
My post in firebug looks completely right: [URL] The json is formatted properly and passes the lint test. However, I get the entire json back and not the filtered by my parameter. I have over a thousand funds, but it should only pull back about 9 bassed upon that category. Here is my working url: [URL]
I'm trying to work a way out on how to send multiple params via post using ajax. but the amount of params can change everytime, i know how to create the param string but how would the post page handle the different amount of them, is there a way to loop and recieve each of the params that get sent?
I am trying to pass a video id value from one javascript page to another, extract the video id, append it to a utube url and then pass it to a html page for immediate display. I have managed to extract the video id value and append it to the url but cannot get it into the html section of the code. My code is posted below
I have one page with <select> list in it, which opens a popup with another <select> list. Those two list are linked... When I select something in the list that is in popup window and confirm the selection (by pressing button), I call a function that fills the "parent" window and forces popup to close. All this is accomplished by directly accessing another list:
for(var i = 0; i <= selLength; i++){ name = parent.window.opener.listValues.options[i].text; value = parent.window.opener.listValues.options[i].value;
self.document.form1.itemList.options[i] = new Option(name, value); }
And this doesn't seem to work with IE. With Firefox is OK.
I want to do something like below with jQuery <a id="nextId" href="javascript:doSomething('[URL]')>NextPage</a> <script> function doSomething(link){ //process the response } </script>
Right now my code block with jQuery looks like this : <a id="nextId" href="javascript:doSomething('[URL]')>NextPage</a> <script> function doSomething(link){ $("#nextId").click(function() { $('div.galleryDiv').html("loading....").load(link); }) } </script>
The problem with the above code is that I have to click twice to invoke the link - obviously, one for Javascript and the other jQuery 'click' function. I am new to jQuery, - invoking jQuery 'click', from HTML code, by passing dynamically generated 'link' as param.
I have a HTML and I am opening another link in a separate window using window.open() . The child window is something like 'http://yahoo.com' which is out side html. I need to refresh the parent window when the child window is closed.
i have this code i need to close the parent.html window when the child window opened, i need the code for that working well in IE and Firefox Parent.html
<HTML> <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> function sendTo() { window.open('child.html','_blank','resizable=yes,width='+(screen.width-500)+',height='+(screen.height-500)+''); } [Code]...
I need a script that will open a new window (popup / new link) in a specific size, but will also close the old window (where the popup came from). I know the popup window is easy but finding a work-able close window script as the new window is opened is impossible!!
I have a popup window which has the search form in. What I want to do is for the popup window to close once the form is submitted, and to post the form data to a page on the main window.
Is anyone able to advise. As the main page is dynamic, it is not possible to give the page a name.
I am trying to usw window.open , upload a file in the child window and then referesh the parent window. But once upload is done, window . opener .location.href or opener.location.replace sends a message back but I get a pop up blocker, so if I turn pop up blocker off, it opens in new page. I just want the parent page to refresh on the same window. This works on some employees stations but not on others..I don't know if there are any settings on IE that need to change, I tried everything...weird. does any one done this before?
I am trying to pop up a window and then do stuff(set flags) when the content of the new window is done loading. For this I am trying to detect the window.onload of the pop-up child window but so far I am unsuccessful. I believe my problem is that the URL of child window is on different domain, than the one of the opener(parent) so that the window.onload is not being called. Though this may change, at the moment I do not have access to the code for the page I'm opening up in the pop-up. Im pretty new to web development.
Im trying to create a hidden form field in a parent window from within a child window (popup). I am trying to use jQuery, but unfortunately the hidden field does not get created.
I have a couple of utility windows - a calculator and a calendar that popup from my main window. I would like them to always stay in front of the parent window until they are shut down with there own close buttons. As it is, when you click back to the parent window, of course it comes in front of the child windows. Can I do this?
code to show ( overlay / modal window ) to the user when closing or navigating away from the page ( i want put in this window facebook share to make the user to share the page in his facebook ) , bytheway i wanna use it in my wordpress in every post could it be happen ?
I need to open a popup window from a PHP site and pass in some parameters to use in the pop up window. I have the params in an input box and need to get the val of the box into a param and pass it to the new popup window. All pages are local and in the same folder. The id of the input box is 'ddutykey'. The name of the new window would be showduty.php if possible.
