I am needing some help with an error I'm getting from a project I'm working on. First off let me preface this all with the fact that I'm a total javascript noob. I'm really trying to understand what I'm doing wrong. So any help or advice is MORE than welcome. Here's what is happening. I found this code that will duplicate a row in a table and modifiy the name of a input in the row. Well for my purposes I have two different tables I need to work with. (each one idividually) So I changed the code a bit to make it accecpt a variable to use for the table name. (before it was static) and now I'm getting a error. Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: http://www.tourandtravelnow.com/admin/scripts/faxPageScript.js :: addRow :: line 14" data: no] This is the old code that would work (only for one of the tables)
In my code (ASP.NET MVC using Nhibernate) , I do this :
[Code].....
Then I display the result in the DIV named "myFormDOFF" Of course, my .NET code can generate exception. I'd like when I receive an exception didn't change the content of "myFormDOFF" but display the message send by the exception in another DIV.
I am having trouble getting my expanding menu to work in Firefox and Opera. It works fine in IE though. I did not write the javascript myself, as I am fairly new to JS, but I did all the HTML and CSS. I used the error console on FF, and also used FireBug. They both returned the following error:
I have a form in which there are two radio buttons .
On selecting the first radio button1 , two textboxes are displayed ( textbox1 & textbox2 ).
& On selecting the second radio button2 only One textbox is
displayed (textbox1) & another one (textbox2) get hidden .
what i am trying to do is that when radio button1 is selected & so two textboxes are displayed, then Onsubmit throw alert for two textboxes seperately , to Enter value in them if this text boxes are blank .
But if radio button2 is selected then throw alert for Entering value for only one text box (textbox1) if its value is blank , & Skip alert throw for the another one hidden textbox(textbox2) .
I call a javascript function b from another function a.

I want to change a db record when the user leave the website. I have this PHP script: <?php require_once("../config.inc.php"); if (isset($_POST["user"]) && isset($_POST["ip_address"])){ $query = 'UPDATE users SET logged = 0 WHEREuser= "' . $_POST["user"] . '" AND ip_address = "' . $_POST["ip_address"] . '" AND confirmed = 1;'; mysql_query($query, DB_LINK); } ?>
And this jQuery script: // script da includere in tutti i file delle pagine per l'utente loggato // cambia lo stato dell'utente da loggato a non-loggato quando viene chiusa la finestra del browser $(window).unload(function(){ $.ajax(AJAX_PATH + "logout.php", {type: "POST", data: "user=" + escape(USER) + "&ip_address=" + escape(IP_ADDRESS), success: function(){alert("Arrivederci!"); return true;}}); }); but it doesn't seem to work.
I am new to this forum and hope this is in the right place but I have been trying to code (with no success) a voting system with PHP/MySql and jQuery for a clients webpage and am about to throw my computer out the window. I need to create a simple system where a viewer can vote (only one vote) between two options (only 2).
I am trying to fix permission denied error on a popup calendar in my page. Infact this functionality works with Netscap + PKI Certificate but this functionality not works with IE + PKI certificate. Without PKI certificate it is works fine with IE. With PKI certificate when I click on calander image i get "Permission Denied" error but it display the calander after when I select the date it change the data in the data field but calander do not close and throw another error "top.newWin is null or not an object".
So i've written up the code to do a lightbox esque overlay image gallery. everything is working smooth and fine. The only concern is that I have the following:
lets say that I have a page that has multiple galleries. Obviously I would have to make each literal array with the gallery data different names, ex:
obviously "galVariable" would be undefined... as i'm trying to get "_gallery2.images" but trying to use "galVariable" to point to "_gallery2"
I'm familiar with solving a problem like this in PHP, not so much javascript. is there a JS function that can be used to ensure that it's using whatever "galVariable" equals to, and then that array's content is? Or is there a different way to go on about this.
I have this code which shows a slidebar, adjusting it shows a number, 0-100 depending on where the bar is. Is there anything I can do to set the width of the slider, or replace the slider with a graphic of my choice. Code:
On hyperlinks, and certain web controls when you put your mouse over the link/control it turns from the arrow pointer to the hand with finger so you know you can click. I am making a menu so that when you click a TR, you will have more options appear below it. There is no anchor or anything to change the mouse pointer. How exactly would I achieve this, either through JavaScript or CSS..?
I am opening a blank window and writing a javascript on the new window to submit a form.when I execute a line "newWindow.document.write(newwdtxt2);"(3rd line from last) I get an exception and last two lines do not execute. I see this problem only in IE 6, Code works fine with IE 7.Below mention is my code
function openWindow(url,name,options) { var aToken = ""; aToken ="2121225434349231132674638921:something"; if(aToken=="") { aToken=document.formEMS.AUTHTOKEN.value; } var newWindow = window.open("", name);
The code I am writing fetches a csv file with weather data and updates the contents of the page every 5 seconds. It works correctly as far as I can tell in Firefox, IE, and Chrome. In Safari it works correctly the first time it loads but gives the following error any time after that.
Error: NETWORK_ERR: XMLHttpRequest Exception 101 I've searched for this but couldn't find anything that seemed to be similar to the issue I'm having. The error occurs on the xmlhttp.send(null); line.
Code: function getFile(url) { var file_url = url + '?t=' + ((new Date()).valueOf()); if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest();
I am trying to change both, the background color and the mouse pointer to hand on the mouseover event. Am using this to change the background color: onMouseover="this.bgColor='#55FF55'"onMouseout="this.bgColor='#AEFFAE'" How and I add the "change pointer to hand" on this as well?
I am trying to redevelop firefox addon, to give it more funcionality. I found JS file where all the functions are and started to edit it.
What I want to achieve is to get target of an anchor under mouse pointer (when mouse pointer is over anchor, I right click and call addon from context menu).
For example when I have anchor which HTML code is:
<a href="somewehere.com/place">place</a>
when I right click on this code and call my addon I would like to alert its href (somewehere.com/place)
I wrote a function:
function ff() { var current_target=this.href; alert(current_target); }
take a look at: [URL] i have an included .js file called fader.js which controls the fading panels at the top of the page. on line 84 of fader.js is a function called setMouseOverHandlers(). it sets it so that when you over over the current panel it does 3 things:
1) pauses the timer 2) replaces the navigation image with the paused state image 3) changes the cursor to a pointer.
the problem is with item#3... i cant figure out why i cant get it to give me the pointer cursor... all the other stuff seems to be working.
