View 3 RepliesI am trying to build on my weather website. On the page I am working on I have many images. These images are best viewed at large sizes, but if all of them were large, the page would look terrible, so I have them set to take the large image, shrink on load, enlarge on mouseover, then shrink on mouseout.. the problem is, if users do not scroll down my page, and try to look at the second row of images.. Then the bottom half of the image is cut off.. So what I need to do is Figure Out how to get my images to either appear and center of page on enlarge, or to have the page scroll down on enlarge..

Is there the ability to refresh to a specific url in a target frame. Code:
View 5 Replies View Relatediam either being really dumb or something is way wrong with the code. i am trying to create a fade in / fade out effect. i know there are tons of scripts out there that do this, but i like to do it myself. my script is only working in firefox at the mo (when it works il cater for other browsers). basically i can get the fade out part to work, but when i want to fade back in it does nothing. now logically id of thought that fading in would be the same as fade out but reversed.

I'm building a simple portfolio gallery and am having trouble determining why the content is loading at the bottom of the page and then "jumping" into place once all images are loaded. This occurs in all browsers I tested on both the Mac and PC which were Mac - Firefox 3.0.5, Safari 3.2.1, Opera 9.6.3. PC-IE 6 and 7, Firefox 3.0.5, and Opera 9.27.
Here's the link to the sample page:

I have a form with 3 sections. The first is always required. The second OR third needs to be completed.The form is used for booking holidays OR flex time in the company I work for. [URL]I have it so the first section is validated, and works fine. I can't work out how to have it pass validation if Holiday OR Flex is done. I can only get it to pass if both are filled in.Here's the code im running:
PHP Code:

function validate(f){

I've been experimenting with accordion nav in the bottom of the sidebar on this site. I got it from this work put up by Marco van Hylckama Vlieg, and I think he's done a good job. At a glance, it looks like my menu works, but as you click around, you will see it is not consistent at remembering which section of the menu to leave open - it should remember its state. It uses cookies, and I wonder if there is a problem with that, or a conflict with other scripts on the site (this is a Squarespace site). I'm hoping a js expert might see an obvious problem. I asked Marco, but he saw no problem. I've tried it on several machines and always had problems.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the standard practice to verify that a page has loaded succesfully
in a frame when one issues a framename.href="url"? For example, detecting
404's, or other errors (like domain doesn't exist).
Does anyone know how it would be possible to create bar at the bottom of the browser window that doesn't reload when you navigate thru the site. A good example is the chatbox that Facebook has. When you click links throughout the site the chat box is constant and doesn't reload.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my application I have an iframe that is empty (and not visible)
initially, however when a user presses a button a form is
programmatically submitted and the target is set to the IFrame.
I want to detect when the frame has been loaded with the result of the
form submit.
Of course I have tried some event handlers like onload, onactivate,
onreadystatechange, but they do not work in this example. They only
seem to work, when the "SRC" attribute of the "IFrame" is set, e.g.
not when the IFrame is set as the target of the form.
Can a random page be loaded without a prior visit to a site?
I have a list of 15 people with a photo and contact information in a table with 3 columns and 5 rows. The issue is that the people near the bottom want a chance to be at the top the first time the page is viewed. It is unlikely that a second visit would happen.
Is this possible to load a random page for a site without it being viewed or logged into before, therefore no cookies will be used.
I have scroll div on the buttom of my page. This div is autoloaded after pressing link via AJAX technology. Everything is ok except position of the web. Right after I press link the view of the page is going to the top. How I could set the view on the div after AJAX content is loaded.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHey JavaScript gurus!
Here's a weird one:
If I check (with an alert) this line:
vStrDate2 = vDate.toLocaleString();
I get: Saturday, August 14, 2004 7:57:30 PM (as I should)
but this operation...
vStrDate = vDate.getMonth() + "/" + vDate.getDate() + "/" + vDate.getYear();
Avails me: 7/14/2004 (!?!?!?!)
I check my computer date and it definitely believes (as do I) that it is
August. Any idea why getmonth() thinks it's July?
Also, is there an easier way to get this American date string?
I have the following script:
function Test(){}
Test.F = function(){}
Test.F.FF = function(){}
Test.F.FF.FFF = function(){}
Test.F.FF.FFF.FFFF = function(){}
//var alias = function(){};
var alias = Test.F.FF.FFF.FFFF;
var date1 = new Date();
for (var index = 0; index < 100000; index++)
Test.F.FF.FFF.FFFF();
//alias();
var date2 = new Date();
print(date2.getTime() - date1.getTime());
Why is it when I use Test.F.FF.FFF.FFFF() I get around 100ms and when I
get alias() I get around 280ms?
What is going on here? This is something I would have never anticipated
and I think that neither of you as well. Aliases whould work faster
then doing lockups at each iteration, right?
Also if I uncomment this line: var alias = function(){}, from 280ms I
get a drop to 265 ms?
i'm looking for some help with a weird problem I've come across. So, I'm using jQuery's toggle() function to hide and show a html element, for example a <div>. Then I put the current state in a cookie ( visible / not ) and when I refresh the page I get the data from the cookie and if the state says non-visible I hide the element. So far so good. However, I wanted to add some animation to the whole thing so I've put slideToggle() instead of toggle() and it works, but when I refresh the page, the element won't hide. Any idea what's the problem? Am I wrong going for slideToggle?

View 5 Replies View Relatedok, here's the background on my "lets learn jquery" debacle ... I have downloaded it (plus the UI) and that demo index.html loads and functions perfectly.
well, I can create a brand new .html document, and include just the jquery.js and perform something, and it will work ... here's the thing, if I change *anything* in the source file, the content in firefox will not refresh ... I could even delete random tags, including the <body> tags, the <h1> tags and text ... and it will just not carry over to the browser. And, if I view the source on firefox it will show a random amount of lines removed from the bottom of the .html file
what in the world is happening ... it is driving me crazy that i cant figure this out. (btw i'm using jquery1.4.4 on centos5.4 + apache2.3.3, and firefox3.6.6 from win7 if it matters)
to recap, if i start with a blank/fresh/from scratch file it will work as designed ... but as soon as I change anything, adding or removing code/content, it blows up randomly displaying content (even old content that isnt even saved in the .html file anymore!)
