I hired a programmer to develop a drag and drop system for my blog. The user should be able to browse one of my blog entries and click, drag and drop an image from my entry to a fixed bottom bar on that page.The problem we are facing is that when dragging an image, it wont place it on the bottom bar until the whole page is scrolled down to the bottom of the page. This is a problem because some of the pages can be very lengthy

You have a table on an html form. As the user changes one or more fields in a table row and moves to the next line, the changed row should AUTOMATICALLY be sent back to the server and updated in the database.
If the user moves BACK to a line that's already been changed, and changed a field, a popup should display and ask "if the user really wants to change the field". If so, again, it should AUTOMATICALLY be sent to the server and updated in the database...
Ignoring the horridness of making that many round trips to the server and banging the database for every line, is there a way to AUTOMATICALLY do the equivalent of a submit and post the changed table row back to the php script?
I have a page that displays a list of people playing in a tournament. I need to be able to generate a Leaderboard based on which players are manually selected by the admin. Next to each person there is a drop-down list. An admin can go in and select a "slot" that a player should be in on the leader board from 1 to 8, or leave it blank if none. What I need to figure out how to do is the following, when a change event happens on a drop-down list, and say the value 5 is selected, I need to check to make sure that 5 is not already selected in one of the other players drop-down lists, in other words, that the 5th leaderboard slot is not already full. if it is, display an error message and make them change that one first. how to do that with jQuery? I'm thinking it will have something to do with the each() function, but not sure exactly how the logic should work.

I have been trying to make an expand/collapse (essentially accordion) list. So far, everything works and looks fine in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, but in IE8, the page height is static when it loads, with a page height being as if all headers in the list were expanded. The expand/collapse functionality works,but as you can imagine, there is this big gap of space after the list.
The html markup uses <h2> tags for the always-visible header portion and a <div> for the expanding/collapsing content. The <div> content contains form elements and everything is enclosed in a form tag.Anyways, here is the jQuery code:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('<img src="plus.png" class="icon" />').prependTo('.header');
$('.content').hide();[code].....
I'm working on a project that requires dynamic manipulation of an ordered list -- adding and removing elements in response to the user pressing buttons. I've run in to some odd behavior. Here's my code:
HTML
<ol id="track-list">
<li>Static Content Here</li>
</ol>
<input type="button" id="add-track" value="Add Track" />
jQuery:
$("#add-track").click(function(){
var listEl = $("<li>Dynamic Content Here</li>");
listEl.hide();
[code]....
Looks pretty straightforward, problem is when I add the new list element it does not prepend it with any number (being part of an ordered list). Now if I remove the hide and fadeIn lines (just append it), it inserts it correctly with a number before it, but I want this to look pretty being jQuery and all...
i wonder if there's a way to find an absolute position of a div-layer from the bottom of the page with some jquery-code.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA website I've been working on has a black bar across the bottom. Under some conditions, however, there is a gap between the bar and the bottom of the page -- white for the body. The conditions vary between browsers and OSes. To keep things simple, I'll describe what happens with my principle development environment -- Chrome under Ubuntu.
The main body of the website is fixed width, centered against a neutral background. If the browser window is narrowed so that a horizontal scrollbar appears, the gap appears.
I have tried various things to find the gap so I can move the bar down or whatever but nothing seems to work. I tried using the document height but I found that it is greater than the actual display area which probably means that it is including something not visible (which is fine) but how do I reliably determine the extra? Or is there another solution I should be looking at (I won't bother listing all that I have tried)?
I am trying all day to find in google the way to do this..
i want a panel to slide from bottom to top, exactly the opposite from this
is there anybody to send a link or tell me how exactly can i do it?
All expanding textarea plugins I've seen always insert an additional line at the very end. This signals the user that more text can be typed since there is more space (such as [URL]). But can anyone direct me to an expanding textarea plugin which doesn't add an extra space at the bottom? I want it to grow only to the exact number of lines which have been typed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy div has this CSS on it:
{height:300px;overflow-y:scroll;overflow-x:hidden;}
After loading some content with append() I want the scrollbar to move to the bottom of the div so the last row of the recently added content is visible, as if the user had moved the scrollbar to the bottom manually. I have tried all the obvious solutions:
//lets assume I've got the height as vHeight from scrollHeight and it equals 800
$(elem).scrollTop(vHeight);
$(elem).attr('scrollTop',vHeight);
$(elem).animate({scrollTop: 800}, 'slow');
None works. I also tried using the DOM as in
document.getElementById('elemId').scrollTop = vHeight.
Nothing sets the scrollTop property.
Do anyone have idea about moving the blocks in left or right, or top/bottom like yahoo,

I've installed the jQuery autoscroll [URL], for my web page. I'm using it in a div tag for a news feed. The problem is that it is looping. Is there any way to make it stop at the bottom? And if its possible, is there any way to make it being able to scroll upwards again?

For example, a div positioned with bottom: 10px, will have a "top" read in Firefox. But if using "top" to move the box, instead of moving it, it will grow or shrink.
