I have a simple example below showing how when I pass in the value of the value attribute of option node, and then use if operator to check whether parameter is a string or not, even though it's a string, it converts it to false boolean and triggers the else statement rather than calling a function.callback should be a string so why is it saying otherwise?
I'm attempting to read in a user's weightlifting history from a database using a php file(viewworkout.php) to first run the query and then a js file to get the results from the query. the script below is all i have so far, and it
I have a jq function that uses the $.post and have never really had an issue until a couple of days ago. I have looked over the code many times and can't figure or the issue. I think that it may be something right in front of me but for some reason or another I can't figure it out.The error "Missing } after property list" is given in FF and IE also gives an error, both on page load. Here is the function:
function editForm(data) { var company=$("#company" + data).val(); if (company=='') {
I'm trying to include some JSON in my script, but Firebug gives an error that I'm missing a closing bracket, but EVERYTHING matches - brackets, parens, quotes, everything. To make it simple, I've put everything in the onLoad function. Here's the code:
I have taken part of some code I know works and simply added a print statemet to it as I want it to print to the command prompt, where I am running the script, the value of REMOTEDIR why the addition of the print statement provides an error: ERROR: JScript runtime error: Object expected
Is it possible to pass a variable into a if statement, What I mean is the function takes in variables i need to take one of those variable and put it in the actual statement.I need the check variable to be put in the if statement but all it does is throw an error because it can't find "check".
I have a table displaying records from query, now i want to have a small dropdown listbox on the top right corner called "sort by". The list index would be "date modified", "Price(High-low)" and "Price(Low-High)". I want my order by clause in my SQL to change according to the values in the dropdownlistbox. code...
How can i pass my selected value from the listbox to my PHP SQL statement?
if i group some javascript into a function that returns false; how could i carry that 'false' out of the function so it can be used outside the function.the example below shows the validate function checks for a condition then returns false if it is met. i want this false to then be passed out of the function to then throw an error in its containing function. (goal to prevent the submitting of a form)i dont want the proceed function to be called, so how can the other function prevent this.Now i realise that the validate function could be incorporated into the top level function but, my form will eventually be quite large with a multiplitude of fields so i need to know how i can call back to functions and use them as objects insteasd of repeating lots of code.
I haven't really gotten to far into javascript, but i think i'm going to need to with a particularly annoying problem with one of my javascript statements.
i use this statement in some of pages to take the user back to the referring page:
I have a page with checkboxes generated by a script. Users are suppose to select the checkboxes and click on a button to process their selection. The codes work fine except when I only have one checkbox on the page. Then it will not register sReturn.....
i get a syntax error message (line 43 character 82) for this line if (document.contest.month.selectedIndex=5 && document.contest.day.selectedIndex=31) { what am i doing wrong here (it is an alert message if the person's birthday is the 31st of may)
What does this error mean? Problem at line 15 character 9: Combine this with the previous 'var' statement. var $columnTwo = $('#content-right').innerHeight(); Problem at line 16 character 9: Combine this with the previous 'var' statement. var $columnThree = $('#right-column').innerHeight(); Problem at line 19 character 9: Combine this with the previous 'var' statement. var maxNumber = Math.max($columnOne, $columnTwo, $columnThree);
I am working on a script that seems impossible to work. I want to click on a link, and if the .text() is the same as a classname of a div, I want to do stuff with the div. The problem is that I can't imagine how to set up the if-state. Right now the script is like this:
$(document).ready(function(){ var filterTrig = $('#sortPort a').html(); $('#sortPort a').click(function() { $('.listItem').each(function(){ if (!filterTrig == $(this).hasClass(filterTrig).html()){ $('listItem').addClass('test'); //later on, animations }} return false; }); });
The script runs here: [URL]. I have turned off all other javascript to work only with this, if the site seems broken. The filterbox to the left will filter the div items listed to the right. All "boxes" in the list is a div with classname listItem + classes equal to the a.text() in the filters (leftbox). It is thoose divs I´m trying to animte with clicks.
Below is a stock script I found which controls a framed environment. My problem is that if a URL has a query string attached, that string does not pass through. Can someone please let me know if and hopefully how, it will be possible to carry a query string through?
This first part here is in the default.asp framed page. Code:
I have a form which passes an IP address to another page which then runs a function to resolve a host name. I am trying to pass the form name 'ip' to the string, but am having problems with the syntax. Code:
What I am attempting to do is have a link/button on a page (testpopup.cfm) that opens a popup page (popupwindow.cfm). The popup page displays a resultset from a query and the selected record needs to be passed through a query string/URL parameter to the original calling page and will be available in the body onload event of the calling page.
I open the popup window and display the query results, I then click on a record and the record is then displayed in the calling form textbox (txtOrg) - - - only the calling form appears in the POPUP window! This is not what I need it to do. I need it to pass the URL parameter to the calling page and close the popup. Here is the code from the two pages. Can you shed any light on this? ....
