DOM Components Cannot Be Accessed?
Jan 4, 2011I am fairly new with Javascript and now I am on the DOM chapter of a book I'm using as a learning tool. Anyway here is my problem, I can't seem to access DOM nodes. For example: document.getElementByClass doesnt work, so does variable.nodeName. I also tried giving alert the value of the id by using this
var o = document.getElementById("x");
alert(o);
alert(o.nodeName);
The first alert value returns null, while the second alert does not work at all.I've read in Google that this might be caused by the JS file loading before the whole html page. I tried using a library which supposedly will fix the thing but it didn't work.
Form Not Getting Accessed?

Of course, the form has more stuff, but I stripped all of that to test the problem. The stuff above alerts only one "test", and nothing afterwards.
Display The Duration A Webpage Is Accessed?
Apr 5, 2011it is possible to display the duration a webpage is accesssed. For example, if its a form webpage, then the time to be displayed will be = time the webpage was left (press submit button etc. or the time the viewer left the page) - time the webpage was first accessed or loaded.
If it is possible with javascript, what are the methods, attributes etc that need to be used.
Ajax In Outlook
May 22, 2007I'm trying to get my PHP scripts to email me an email which includes a
button to enable a feature, which I'd like to be done via AJAX so the
user can open the resulting page within their Outlook email rather
than having to open a web browser.
My script is below, however I'm slightly confused, because when run in
Outlook or outside the webserver directory it won't work, but run
inside, it will. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong? I may have
seen somewhere about accessing XML on another server - is it that AJAX
can't access files from a different URL? Code:

AJAX & OUTLOOK: Copy/paste Error
May 17, 2006I have a website that uses AJAX to generate data in an html table. I want to copy/paste the entire page into MS word and have the conents of the page be displayed exactly like how it is in the browser.
When I do, I get script errors in each cell of the table. I believe it is some compatibiliy issue with AJAX and word.
If I remove all the ajax functions from the website's code, the copy/paste would work.
Anyone know how to make ajax be compatible with MS word for copy/pasting?
Unfortunately I can not post any links to this website because it is an internal website at my work. I do not have a personal webserver so I can not link any screen shots. I will in the near future if this gets too complicated.
