Make A Video To Be Played At A Particular Time In A Website?
Feb 27, 2009
I want to play a video at a particular time in our website(Automatically) like i might want the embedded video to be played at exactly 9:00 A.M . How can i do it.
I want to run video at our website at a specified time only, like i might want my video to be played at 9.00a.m exactly . how can i do it using javascript.
I'm trying to create a video box on a website that plays a youtube video and then automatically plays random recommended videos with no break in playback. An endless playlist created by youtube based on the initial video. Youtube uses Javascript API. I have never used Javascript before but i'm just trying to get the video to play as above. There are few tutorials online and I couldn't find anyone trying to do a similar thing.
I have created a transparent flash video (virtual spokesperson) for my website. For demoing purposes, I would like to have this appear on any desired website.
This is what I am trying to produce - here a virtual spokesperson appears on the [url]website: [url]
Have a look at other sites which enable one to type in a URL and their demo virtual spokesperson appears on the given site: [url] [url]
I believe they do this within an iframe to display the underlying website.
I do pretty much all the computer related tasks, which includes computer system repair, audio/video editing, cd/dvd printing and duplication, document format and creation, etc etc. But when it comes to HTML (or other codes) I know very little. But we needed a website, so I use Homestead hosting and the Homestead (offline) Site Builder program.
Anyway, inside the sight builder program, they have the option to insert HTML Snippets. Which I use for various objects, off site tools, and other. But now I need to do something for which I have not been able to find a "premade" html code object, that can perform the task desired. I have searched and searched google and went through many sites, including this one. I have tried to take some codes which I thought I could alter to make it perform, but they just wouldn't work for what I needed them to do.
I need a code that will automate a "specific text message" to change daily, and to schedule a "different specific text message" to appear each day. I need to be able to schedule each days "texts" at the very least 31 days in advance. In other words, I need to make an array (I think that's what it is called) for the entire month:
Day 1 "today's text 1" Day 2 "today's text 2" Day 3 "today's text 3"
[code]....
If were possible to make an "array" that would go six months out (or more) that would be very helpful! But the longest that I have seen is one month at a time, so that may be as long as they go, but I'm not sure.On top of all of this, I need these changes to be performed at a specific time of the day. I would like them to be preformed at sunset everyday, but I don't think there is anyway to direct the code to look at like [URL] sunset times or such. So if I can at least choose a specific hour, like 8:00 pm, that will work, I will just have to adjust this every once in a while.
However, I don't want it to change just at 8:00pm in my timezone. I need it to change at 8:00pm according to the website viewers timezone. Is there a way to make the code "look" at the users computer and "get their time" and use that to adjust what text is displayed? In other words, I live in Indiana USA. If someone in Australia looked up the webpage on the 15th day of the month, but it was 9:00pm Their Time. The text I need to be displayed should be for "Day 16" from the array.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use Javascript and HTML to access video+sound input so a user can use a webcam on a site without the need for flash/plug ins? Trying to figure this one out but not finding any good starting points yet. Not even sure if it is feasible. :)
I have a video gallery with a bigger div with width 500 pixels where the main video is waiting to be played and below is a smaller div with all the others videos from the gallery having width of 80 pixels. The list of video are managed by a content management system in PHP and are the result of youtube "Share Embed action" where the result is an iframe with the link for the video. How can i clicking on a video from the smaller div see the video being displayed in the bigger div ? already playing? or in a new layer above the website ?For now the video plays in the div it is located at.As an example here is the source video format :
i am now playing with the time. how to make the time move in downwards, i mean a countdown like format, e.g the time will start countdown and end in 2 days? here's my initial noob code for creating time
We are using FlowPlayer to display a video on our website page here. However the video appears very small in IE8 (like a thumbnail) and I cannot seem to work it out!
I see when I post a link to Facebook for a youtube video that it shows a thumbnail. When i click the thumbnail it plays the video right there on my facebook page.
I am wondering how do they do that trick?
So, let me take a guess.
Facebook is probably using some RSS feed aggregator to pull the info from YouTube.
They probably are also using maybe jQuery + CSS to hide the video at first. When you click the thumbnail it shows the video and then the video begins playing.
So, two questions: if that is how they do it then How do they make the hidden video not play when the page loads? how do they get it to start playing automatically once the video is revealed?
I've got image slider on my website. I'm using jCycle. It shows images or videos and it advances slides every 11 seconds. I want it to STOP animating when video is played. How can I achieve that?I tried jQuery click event (when slide is clicked then pause jCycle and when pager is clicked then resume it). This doesn't work at all.
I am trying to implement a time calculator onto my website with preset times to tell how long it would take to make troops. Say you want to make 100 Catapults and each Catapult takes one minute and ten seconds to make, I would like to be able to show the time in days /hours / minutes preferably in the format of 0:00:00. I would like it so someone can type in the amount of troops they want. There are Infantry that take 0:00:22, Cavalry that take 0:00:52, Archers that take 0:00:35 and Catapults that take 0:01:10.
You know how the get time functions pulls info from the users computer? Is there a way i can get that same information from a web site or a clock on the the same web site?
I'm new to javascript and was wondering if there was a way to do a 'time check' on my website?I would like it so that if the time is between Midnight and 6AM the user has access to the page. Any other time outside of this range gets a picture displayed or a pop-up message and access is restricted.
the person whose site this is wants a short blip sound played whenever you roll over the links in the sidebar. I know it's not advised, but she insists. I've tried implementing a few scripts but no luck in Firefox or Chrome.
I have a Javascript that calculates and displays how long, in minutes and seconds a user has been in online(Google Gears development) mode on a given web page. I need however, to modify the script so that it calculates and displays how long the user has been online on the web site. For e.g. on page 1 for 2 minutes 12 seconds. Moves to page 2 - total time on page 1 and 2= 4 minutes 13 seconds. My script (see below) starts a second counter then converts that to minutes and seconds. I have tried passing the secVar0 variable in the url but that comes back "undefined".

I have an idea for a website that I'd like to pursue, and it would need functions such as:
-Live news feed
-Member logins, profiles, ability to rate/leave feedback for members
-Mobile phone friendly
-Comment on postings
-Create an intro video (maybe even with animated stick figures to explain how the site works)
-Accept paypal or other payment method
-And basically, need to understand the monthly maintenance cost of all these functions, how to minimize expenses, etc.
how would I begin implementing a site like this.. Do I need to find a programmer to code it from scratch? Are there pre-written scripts available for all the functions I listed? What can I expect the costs to be?What's the best way to move forward?
I am currently working on my own company's website I am currently working with the FAQ page and I need to make a simple textbox, where visitors can type and ask a question and submit it, the question the visitor typed needs to be read by javascript from a seperate xml file which should be read with javascript. Now i dont know how to start with this
I am a novice jQuery user and I was assigned a job to create an interactive map for a website. I want to make a simple nap, but I have no idea where to start. I am trying to make a simple map (as attached) so when a user comes to a homepage, the map would be visible. Then when the cursor is rolled over the map, different states appear in different color and when clicked, the user is taken to another page. Sounds simple, but I cannot find any useful info.I do not want anyone posting any codes, I want to try to do it myself.
I am trying to make an xml file download from my website, so the saveAs window will be open, I checked the forum and found the following code. but instead of saving the xml file it saves the html file.
<html> <script type="text/javascript"> function forceSaveAs (filename){
[code]....
I also try to send the xml with the following header but with no success
