I am VERY NEW to javascript programming as I am to web development. I am pretty decent with VB.Net though. My question is, what are the different ways to call a JavaScript Function either from within XHTML Markup code or from a VB.Net Code-Behind file?
I have scoured the net and found nearly what I'm looking for, but not exactly, and I don't really know javascript, so trying to piece together bits of code hasn't worked. What I need is the script for a live clock with date and time format exactly as follows: Sunday, 07 June 2009, 24:00:00 (GMT+1).I have two separate files with the following code, which gets me close to what I need: Sun Jun 07 19:05:48 2009 Obviously the time is in the wrong place and it doesn't show GMT+1. These are the scripts:
Code: function update() { time = Date();[code]....
I hoping one of you guys can help i'm developing an ecommerce site that has items available for next day delivery. The cut off point for receiving an item next day is 2.00pm.
If possible i need a script that if the time is before 2.00pm i just need some text displaying tomorrows date and when the time goes after 2.00pm the date shown will the day after tomorrows date. If poss i need it in this format "28 October 2005"
I am new at web development and am just getting aquainted with JaveScript. I have seen a countdown clock on another web site and wouldl like to code the same on my web site. I have been through the [URL] javascript tutorial and could not find any reference to that specific code. I'm sure it is somewhere in the date functions. how to code a countdown clock?
again I turn this forum as the issue I have is beyond my current knowledge and I have found it impossible to find help on through google.First up, I have some code that puts a keyup event on all text boxes that have a certain string in their ID. That code uses 'live' and looks like this.$("td[id*='tdQuantity'] .field_input ").live('keyup', function() { calculateTotal(); });This one is simple enough. All the input boxes that match that selector call 'calculateTotal()' on keyup. I have code that adds a new dynamic row of items. Hence my use of 'live' above'. However, once it hits calculateTotal() I have it hard coded items on the first row. For example..
if (isNaN($('#tbQuantity_1').val())) { iQuantity = 1; $('#tbQuantity_1').val('1');
I am developing an application and need to be able to use either JavaScript or PHP to request a page, add code to the end of it, and thenopen it for the user.What I want:
This code is supposed to find all table rows with a class of "selected", remove that class, then find all checked inputs that are descendants of a tr and give its tr a class of selected. The problem is, that even radio boxes that are not checked are being returned by $(' tr input:checked', '#deviceSelection') and everything is getting a class of selected. Anyone know whats wrong? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1
I need to create an external .JS in perl script, with a Var that holds the bgcolor of a table. I need it to be an external .JS file because i will be changeing the color values alot.
I dont want to generate the HTML, at this time, with perl. Createing the .JS file is easy, what i need to know is:
1. What the .JS file needs to look like. 2. And how to assign the table bgcolor to the var stored in the .JS file. :) The .JS file will need several Vars
var color1 = "#000000"; var color2 = "#000000"; var color3 = "#000000";
and in this code, it works, the call is made and text is added. in the other code I don't get a change at all. Not even in the database that add.php manipulates.
function updateObj(obj, data) { document.getElementById(obj).innerHTML = data; } //--> </script>
If I remove the HTML tags within the data node it works, but obviously there is no formatting, and its just all text. How can I load the HTML content into the div? Note: 'xmlObj' is the name of the div I'm trying to populate.
am very new to JQuery. I need to create a form, which will take username and email id and store it in a text/csv file.I do not want to use PHP/ASP.I am familiar with Java script.Is there a way I could do this?
I have a external file for example abc.js ,in this abc.js file no functions ,it contains some scripting,i want to call the scripting file though html I use the code
I'm currently facing a weird issue with the onchange event. I have a web application where each blur event makes a call the webserver to store the value of the textfield. I only want to trigger that ajax call when something has changed, so i track the onchange event on each textfield to set a flag if something has changed.
The onchange event always fires to first time when i click outside of a textfield even if i didn't change anything in the field.
I narrowed it down to the following: A prefilled textfield always fires the onchange-event the first time you leave the textfield. An initially empty textfield does not fire the onchange event.
I am working with a activeX widget that has a method that produces an image which is saved to a users local machine. All the method requires is the path on the local machine. I need to obtain this path (hopefully utilizing a "save as" file dialog) and store its value to a variable so I can pass it to the method. It does work with an input type="file" but they are branded for file uploads an dit is a little misleading and confusing for the user.
example:
var path = $("#saveAsDialog").val(); activeXObj.saveScreenshot(path);
I want to have a link that when clicked on will call a specific php code. So when you click on the LSS link it sets a value to lss that I can call later with the php. This is what I have:
I have several form in my site, that validate on onsubmit.I call all the validation functions from a file call functions.js.Here is a sample of the code that is working:
Is it possible to call a procedure in the code behind a web page from jquery/java script? For example, If I have a button that calls a script called Process_Data and a module in the code behind called Save_Data. Can Process_Data call Save_Data?
I dont use JS much, I did take it in school years ago but cant remember much of it, what Im trying to do is quite simple, just a random quote gen but I want it to get the quots from a separate file as the quotes will appear on every page so I dont want to have to edit each page every time a new one needs to be added.
I just found a simple quote generator online that I want to modify to call the array from a different file, the gen looks like this:
var Quotation=new Array() // do not change this! Quotation[0] = "Time is of the essence! Comb your hair."; Quotation[1] = "Sanity is a golden apple with no shoelaces."; Quotation[2] = "Repent! The end is coming, $9.95 at Amazon.";
[Code]....
get that array into another file and call it from that script
What I'm trying to achieve is, when my page loads, I want a ajax script to send data to a php file and then I want the php file to echo the data sent to it. Later I'll insert this ajax data into the database but for testing I want it to echo.
For example let's say the javascript collects the user's browser info, On page load I want the ajax to send this browser info to a php script, the php script should echo back the browser info sent to it and it displayed on the calling html page. (this is example I know this can be done with just javascript or php but it will be simple enough to show me how the 2 interact)
