var $tabs = $('#tabs').tabs();
I'm trying to create a list of questions and answers, with the questions hidden on page load. They get hidden by this Javascript (to avoid breaking the site for those without JS):
Code: function init() { var dds = document.getElementById("qanda").getElementsByTagName("dd"); for (var ddid=0; ddid<dds.length; ddid++){
[Code]....
how I can go about displaying the <dd> tags again? I've tried Google, but not being familiar with Javascript terminology, haven't got very far!

I am trying to hide/show table when hide/show button is pressed
Problem: The code works fine when I remove 'slow' from line 10. But with 'slow' in line 10 content of toggleButton doesnt change from Hide to Show when pressed.
I need to use the this keyword to differentiate which div class name needs to show. Currently, my code below on '.bioclick' click event, every bio_desc is displayed or showed. I just want to show the current clicked'.bioclick' child '.bio_desc'. I tried using the this keyword but it did not work.
I awhen it comes to "developing" jQuery but I am trying to do something that is seemingly something simple but I can't for the life of me, figure out the best way to do it.

Here, you'll see the area below the navigation that has five buttons which are supposed to help scroll between the five associated divs.All I want to do is hide the currently shown div and then slide in the div associated with the button clicked.http:[url].....Here is what the animation is SUPPOSED to look like but the problem is is that the correct one uses Prototype and I am trying to use only one library and jQuery is the most suitable because I use it for other effects in the site and jQuery and Prototype obviously don't mesh well.
I have this demo site here [URL] It's a simple div with overflow: hidden this containing div houses 3 divs each containing different content. The nav at the top scrolls the divs to show the div relating to the nav clicked. The problem I have is with the last btn - Planes. The div containing the planes photos doesn't scroll to the top of the containing div but sits at the bottom. The first two btns. work as expected so I don't understand why the last btn doesn't.
I am building a web application using PHP. It lists each salesperson and below it, the clients assigned to them. There are only about 5 or 6 salespeople. There could be any number of clients for a salesperson. Each salesperson is given their own div and client information (name, email, phone) is grouped with an unordered list:
I would like to be able to delete (actually hide) either a salesperson or client depending on which link the user clicked. I have been using JQuery throughout my site so far and I can accomplish the task for the salespeople by creating individual events for 6 salespeople. If there are only 5 people, the 6th event will never be triggered. If there are 6, everyone is covered. The tricky part are the clients since I can't guarantee a specific number of them. I would like to fit best practices as much as possible and reduce the complexity of my code if I can. Keeping that in mind...Is there a better way to handle the salespeople rather than rewriting the function 6 times? Can I pass a variable to a JQuery function using the onClick binder on the <a> tag --> <a href="#" onClick=deleteClient(10)> and use the variable to determine which client to delete? Would using a function in plain javascript and ignoring JQuery for this entirely be better?
I would like to have a multiple onclick show/hide menu system with javascript. And theres one more thing I need is to hide my menu when someone clicks outside it.
So basically I have a hidden div layer and a link. And when someone clicks on it I want the hidden div layer to show. And on a second click I want it to be hidden again. But if the menu is displayed and someone clicks outside it then hide it again.
If that makes sens now I really would like to have a anwser on this I have searched on the internet like 20 times already and all those code sucks.
I do not want any body onclick examples and I don't want to use JQuery.
This is the code I have so far I hope someone could give me example with my code intergrated into it
I always want "smenu3" to show with "smenu4" and "smenu5" collapsed... When the user clicks the link, it calls a javascript function to show "smenu4" like so...
I dont know how to display a HTML form when user click on a radio button. I have two forms in a page, when user click on a radio button that correspond to its form, the other form will be hidden. I have the idea to use if...else statement. But I dont know what code to be inserted in an onClick event. I also not sure whether this is logic or not, whether this can be done or not.
I have put the following code into a sharepoint aspx page. So that when I change the value in a drop down box it runs a function (in this case it displays "Works").
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function getField(fieldType,fieldTitle) { var docTags = document.getElementsByTagName(fieldType); for (var i=0; i < docTags.length; i++) { if (docTags[i].title == fieldTitle) { return docTags[i] }}}
function TestFunctionName() { alert("Works"); } getField('Select','DropDownBoxName').onchange = function() {TestFunctionName()}; </script>
What I'd like to be able to do as well is when a check box is changed or clicked on the same thing happens. I dont seem to be able to achieve it though. I've change the line... getField('Select','DropDownBoxName').onchange = function() {TestFunctionName()}; to... getField('Input','CheckBoxName').onchange = function() {TestFunctionName()}; and getField('Input','CheckBoxName').onclick = function() {TestFunctionName()};
Basically what I'm looking to do is at first, I want to hide the previous link until next is clicked. When next is clicked the first href will change to #2 and the 2nd will change to #3. If then #2 is clicked it'll go back to the first step, if #3 is clicked it'll move on to... #2 changes to #3 and #3 changes to #4, repeat above process. #3 changes to #4 and #4 from the last frame is now hidden. Is this possible with javascript?
i m trying to make a simple nested menu. my problem is when i click on child li's the parent as well as whole menu toggle to hide. i added a class too but its not helping.
I have some divs laid on top of each other. By clicking somewehre specific I want to hide all the divs but except for one - which is related to the point i clicked - to show up.Here is my code so far:The function will be called by something like this:
All these divs are in the same from the right_nav-class.I guess the problem lies within line 6, where I want to select the div that should show up and is given as the argument of the function.The commented lines are things I already tried, but didn't work either, especially $(this).style seems to be invalid.It does hide all divs as i want, but the one i want to show again doesn't show up. It just stays hidden...
I got this example code which show rows when click on it, the problem is it shows all but I want if I click on one row it shows that one and hide others.
i searched the forum, but did not find a working solution for my problem. IE6/7 are not hiding the divs in the $(document).ready function. Tried also:
$("#closed").css('display', 'none'); document.getElementById('closed').style.display = 'none'; It is working when i add the ID "closed" to the <li>-Element instead of the <div>-Container. All other browsers are working fine.
the box. Anybody know what's wrong?i have the following code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I'm trying to get jquery to show a specific div "apDiv2" after a hide effect. Basically the click function will hide all divs with ids containing 'adDiv' in the id and then I want to fade up a specific div based on the id of the clicked object. It hides all the divs correctly but the show doesn't seem to work.
I am trying to learn jquery. my example below is to show and hide content in a group divthe code works but i want to know if this is best practice to write what i did. Is there better way to do it?
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html > <head
I'm having a problem on: [URL] I've got a menu on z-index:0; and a footer on z-index:1; if you're doing a mouse over, the menu pops up under the footer. But the menu is longer than the footer (it's a png image) so you see the menu stock under it what isn't exactly the meaning. if there was a overflow-bottom:hidden; it's was solved but now i don't know what to do!
