How To Dynamic Control Some Picture's Size By Javascript
Feb 14, 2006
i have some pictures in a page. there are have difference sizes. some
of them are too widen for be arrange in a line. so
i been tried to adject their sizes to more suitable.
i add a event to that image likes:
<img id="img" onLoad="adjustSize(this)" src="123.jpg">
and write a function in javascript:
function adjustSize(obj){
if (obj.width>250){
sizeRate=250/obj.width;
obj.width=obj.width*sizeRate;
if (obj.hight>268)
obj.hight=268;
}}
but exactly,i can get the image's width and height. cuz the loading
hasn't finished while the function of adjustSize works.
I'm battling to print labels on a dot matrix printer. The available page sizes are all bigger than a single label and I can't make custom page sizes on this printer (panasonic KX-P1150). Whenever I print a label, the printer form feeds the label paper and does not stop after the label. I have googled and see that printer comands can be send directly to the printer with ActiveX controls from inside a javascript but the only examples I found changed the orientation etc. None changed the page size or disabled the form feed.
I have a form that I link to from several locations. Right now I use JS in the link to the page to open it a specific size. I would rather simplify the links and just put the dimensions in one place...the file that opens. Is there a best way to force a page to be opened in a specific size without putting JS in the link? I would just use target="_blank" to get it in a new window.
i used to use the jquery.bublepopup.v2.3.1.min.js to build my buble popus in different forms. Now it is getting lit bit complicated as i want to call one bublepopup in one of my dynamic textboxes..and i am stack there. in general when using form , i include the jquery script . on the header of the page and just call what i want in a DIV or textfield class i.e<input id="text1" class="jquerypopupfunction">
inthe dynamic side, i know how to call a class in javascript dynamic mode. i tried to do the same as above but it did not work
I have to create a dynamic html block that can hide and show text, anchor tag is used to hide/show the block, which is also dynamically generated, so I have to call anchor's tag click event using live function, but within that click event I have to look up for immediate next div control which will hide/show. my code is somewhat like below I am comment the line of code which is not working
$("a").live("click", function(e) { var $nextElement = $(this).next("div");//div control is not found here, it is also dynamically generated. ($(this).html() == "[-]") ? $(this).html("[+]") : $(this).html("[-]");
We are working within a CMS and we have a dynamic text header that pulls into the top of the page. The problem is that there are certain titles that are too long and are breaking into other design elements. I'm thinking there should be a way to count the number of characters and then dynamically change the font-size of the header.
I have a .net application that I am trying to add some javascript code to for a client-side execution. What I want to do is resize all the HTML text fields on my web form, but instead of writing a line for each text box I would like to loop through a collection of controls and resize the control if it is a text field. Is there a way to do this in javascript? The function below is what I have been toying with for the past couple of hours. Another idea was to use a css, but I can't find an element for the text field.
function Test() { Tarray = new Object; Tarray = document.Form1.children for (var prop in Tarray) { //document.writeln(Tarray.toString); var s; s = prop if (Left(s, 3) == "btn") { prop.height = "20px"; } } }
I have been unable to reduce the size of the text that goes along with my image slideshow(the play, next, stop buttons and also the captions for the pictures) without reducing the size of my title text(my friends).
I would like to set dynamically the pressed item of a menu of a form in javascript. First, how to get the value of the item that has been selected with the mouse. Then how to set it in javascript. I don't know the object name. I do that like form.myfield.value = xxxx with an input text, but it it doesnot work for menu!
I need information (sure, i used google but couldn't find anything useful yet) about automating/adjusting Acrobat Reader using javascript. I need to print multiple documents without having to open them individually and selecting the print option on each document. I also need to adjust the user interface. Sometimes printing is allowed, sometimes it is not. So i need a way to disable (or remove) the print button from the default toolbar.
Anyone has experience (sample code) or documentation i can use?
When designing a site, a request has come to me about printing web pages. What they want is the page to be broken up into frames, and only one frame will be able to be printed. so that if the page is broken into 3 vertical frames. Would it be possible to have it only print the middle page if the person clicked the print button.
This is so that even beginner users to IE or Netscrape would be able to get a printout of the page without having to change options in the print preferences.
* The example the person gave me was similar to Page Breaks in MS Excel. You can see the whole thing, but when print is clicked, you only get a certain section printing (even a beginner can do this).
I am looking for a upload form to upload pictures and then when the pictures are uploaded, then they get emailed to me. Kind of like a contact form but attached is the pictures.
I'm using input hidden control's value in the javascript function.
same code is working fine on all other browser except a specific version of safari(i.e.: MAC OS 10.3.7 and Safari 1.2.4).
problem: control's value is not getting displaying at the first time when the page gets load, although the same piece of code would work if I just refresh the page, strage.
declaration of hidden control: <INPUT id="hSliders" type="hidden" runat="server">
javascript code which is calling the value of hSliders:
alert(document.Form1.hSliders.value)
this alert is showing nothing although it should display string.
i check the view source also control's value is getting populated.
This JavaScript Ticker is an example of "Data Binding" using "Tabular Data Control (TDC)" which is a Microsoft ActiveX control built in to Internet Explorer....
I am making a web page and i have one js menu in it. But when I resize page in the enternet explorer, menu stays at the same size and that is bad. Anyone knows how to deal with it or anyone has some manu in which I can define size in percents, not in pixels.
I have a current script that I am using to dynamically resize the font within all paragraph tags on a page. Does anybody have a simple JavaScript that will retreive the P tag and change it's font size, either up or down a few pixels?
I would like slim code that might only work in the latest browsers. IE6 and Netscape 7 is fine.
I have a <img scr="mypic.jpg"in my html. I would like to display the image by width=200 if the image width is larger than 200. I also would like to display the image by its real width if the image width is smaller than 200. How can I do it?
I am working on a project and want to give the users the option to scale their font sized up and down, using a javascript or javascript/CSS combo. Basially, clicking the text icon once will enlarge it (to whatever I determine) and clicking that icon again will revert it to the normal size. They will not be able to incrementally get larger with each click... just one size. Code:
There will be a number of list boxes and other controls, with pop-up windows to edit certain properties. It's the kind of thing I would normally have done in VB but I want it to be browser-based. I've only used javascript for trivial things before so this would be my first serious javascript development. I would like it to run on all reasonably recent browsers.
The form starts with all the initial values being received from the server (presumably just by pre-initialised data structures). The user tinkers with it and when he is happy he presses 'submit' and the whole lot is submitted to the server (presumably as a form post). This would be a few kb of data, possibly 100 individual values but obviously in various data structures. I guess there would be a few hundred lines of javascript code to manipulate it.
My question is, is there likely to be a problem with manipulating and sending this amount of data in Javascript. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but like I said, I only used javascript for tiny programs before, so I'm a bit unsure about its capabilities.
I have used ASP.net 1.1. In that application user can upload the file(any printable document like doc/xls/ppt/pps/jpg/gif etc.,). The user allows to upload a max of 4MB.
But if the user uploads more than 4MB I'll issue a msg. But in slow network, the user needs to wait for much time to upload and even get error msg.
I want to stop from client side itself. Once the user selects the file to upload it shud b checked frm Javascript.
* Is there any way to do achieve this? * The user should not change security settings in browser, if u suggests some method. * If it is not possible/meaningful then please tell me the reasons very clearly. So I can stop searching. * Please note any printable document can be uploaded.
