I'm trying to make a table that will hide multiple rows in single js functions... now I put together a way to do it, but it requires multiple id declarations in the functions, is there any way to do it with classes instead of IDs, so that I can have a blanket class that I can use?See:

I have tried a number of variations, like adding "javascript:" in front of the first call, and returning True of False from the first function, but Icant get the second function to fire after the first one has.
by using alerts, and wathcing what IS occuring, I know that the first is being called, but the second isn't.
I did this once some years back, but I can't seem to rember how I did, it, and none of the example that I have located have helped, so can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have a web page that has a short flash show on it, then it redirects to the main site index page, using a setTimout in body onload. That was all working fine. Now I need to add an OS detection function to redirect iphone and ipad users immediately (bypassing the flash pape). So, I have 2 functions that need to be in the body onload. I figured the logical thing to do would be to write another function that calls the first 2, then put that one in the onload. But now nothing is working. I have played with in for an hour with no luck.

I am getting to know jquery a little, and I am trying hide and show a div when a link is clicked.I have a page setup that has a flash video in a div on the main page. Then when a link is clicked, a lightbox window opens and plays another video. I am trying to get the video on the main page to hide while the lightbox video is playing. Then when a user closes the lightbox window, the div with the main video on the page is shown and starts playing again.So far I can get this to work with one link. But I cannot get the main video div to hide when a second link is clicked.

I have created two buttons with different background flags: italy and uk, so when one pushes the button with flag uk, the html page will be reloaded with only english rows, and when one pushes the button with flag it, the same page is reloaded containing only italian rows. All the code posted here works well, but I think that the code can be better because to reach this result I had to dupplicate the same function and I don' t like this.

Trying to display events on my website based on what my clients want to view. I have 3 checkboxes setup to toggle the connected events, but I can't seem to make the onclick handle more than 1 event at a time.
Basically, I want to know
1) how to display more than one tr row'd event with the selection of any given checkbox.
2) how to have all boxes checked on the page load (checked=true only checks the box with no info showing)
3) AND/OR how to create a CHECK ALL option
4) and, lastly, how to give it a scroll in case I have many events code...

I've been stumped. I'm usually good at figuring this stuff out, but I'm completely confounded here.I have a form with tables in it to add items to a series. The rows are being added dynamically by Jquery on the click event.
The following hides all divs. What if I want to hide only one div? Specifically the one with the word TEXT.<div ><div id="hide">TEXT</div><input type="button" value="Hide" /> </div>With this in the header:$(document).ready(function(){$("button").click(function(event){$("#hide" ).hide("slow");});});if I change #hide to div then it hides all the divs, which is not what I want.
I am familiar with the user built addEvent function used to load multiple functions in the window.onload property. However, I am curious as to the best way to do this across multiple JavaScript files. I thought I had seen somewhere code similar to the addEvent function was native to JavaScript now but I can't seem to find that anywhere.
Just to clarify, suppose I have 3 JavaScript files:

note that it is not feasible to combine those functions into one file as they aren't always loaded together. What's the best way to load them all as a window.load?
I have my own library for web-design building - active forms, lists. I am going to build tabbing component. The complexity in this process is that all web forms uniformed and are built as TABLEs, where each field is TR. Tabs have to show/hide some of table rows.
I don't know how TR's properties must be changed in order to hide them all. I tried make HTML code like <TR>...</TR> .... <DIV id=tab1> <TR>...</TR> .... </DIV> <TR>...</TR> ....
And tried to change visibility of a DIV, but this doesn't work. How can I change visibility of set of TRs?
Seems to work fine in Firefox/Mozilla and IE, IE doesn't work with style.display = 'table-row' but Mozilla/Firefox display the row wrong without so it detects and fixes that also. Code:
I try to group several rows in a table into a div and show/hide them by click on a button somewhere with a javascript link. When clicked, the link will toggle the style of the div section's style between BLOCK and NONE.
This technique works on normal text fine, but it doesn't work on part of the table, is there a solution that I can achieve the goal of turning on/off several rows all together?
I ahve this table as code shown below with buttons Up and down above and below the table respectively now whgat i want to do is that as I have ten enteries in the table.I want to show only 6 of them at one go on a page and the rest 4 should be hidden and when I cliock the "down" button the next four should be displayed and vice versa when I click "up" button the first 6 should be displayed.
I have a JSP page with several forms on it. Some of these forms are generated dynamically, and each of them submits some information to a database.
Handling one form is easy, as I can simply make the form post to itself, and handle the data using a single bean. Since I have multiple forms, I now have a problem. Several of the forms on the page handle the same type of data (same input names), and a 'setproperty *' call for each of the form beans would change data in several beasn, not just the form/bean that sent the data.
I am attempting to write a separate JSP with a single bean that handles a form submission. However, I'm not sure how to make this page go back to the referring page from which the data was submitted.
I have developed one project and in that i have taken two css now i want to add jquery effects in that, But my display is not properely adjusted and extra enlargement is done so how i can add jquery in my php project without affecting another effect? I'm having a problem with one of my Labs and My TA is not answering emails.I need to make a button, that when you click it, turns the bgColor blue, when you click it twice, it turns bgColor yellow, and a third time turns it orange.The tricky part is, I need to use an internal CSS style sheet for the color, and a function for the javascript.Here is what I have so far, but I'm completely stuck.
I have this script which is set to generate random anagrams of my name in rotation which works fine, but I can't work out how to put multiple instances of it on one page.
I was just wondering if it's recommended to have all your javascript contained in a single unified block or if it's okay to have them spread out across the document? I find the second approach ensuring JS is located near code that is directly associated increases readability, but I'm worried it may have a negative effect on performance, however minor.
I have a table that is set up to look like a menu and would like to show/hide certain rows, the problem is that the rows do not have id's...basically, it looks like this:
Ultimately, what I would like to do is: show all Level1 rows.hideadditionallevels below Level1 (which could be any number deep) and finally, if row is selected then show additional levels below (td class will change to "Selected" when on the page) and above (ie. if Level2 is selected).
I have a query regarding the hide/show of the cells in a table.The first column is 'Yes and No' options using combo box, 2nd option is 'input field', 3rd column is also 'Yes and No' option using combo box, and 4th option is also 'input field'.What I want is to make a table using JAVASCRIPT, in which if i select 'No' from the first row first column, i want to hide the remaining 3 cells of the first row. Otherwise if i select 'yes' from the first row first column i want to show all the 3 other options of the first row. Also in between if I select 'No' from the first row third column i want to hide the first row fourth column cell. Selecting 'yes' from the first row third column will show the first row fourth column.I want apply the same setting of hide and show cells into the remaining columns also.
By selecting 'no' from first column -> hide other corresponding cells of the row by selecting 'yes' from the first column -> show other corresponding cells of the row
AND ALSO
By selecting 'no' from third column -> hide fourth cell of the corresponding/same row by selecting 'yes' from the third column -> show fourth cell of the corresponding/same row
