I'm trying to create two bookmarklets:
1. Take the current URL of the page and open a new window with a URL based on the current page. Some examples (I use "->" to mean "this URL turns into that URL"):I plan to use these bookmarklets in sequence, first pressing 1 to log into the CMS, then pressing 2 to edit the current page.

I have built an expandable menu that displays some categories and subcategories. The menu is populated from a MySQL DB and I'm using PHP to configure the data for the Javascript menu. All of this works correctly.
There are 2 options when using the menu.
1. Click the arrow icon next to the category option. This opens the subcategories for that category while remaining on the current page.
2. Click the category title (text link). This brings you to the category page.
When a user clicks the category title to go to the category page, I want the subcategories for that category to be open when they get there.
Everything seems to be working correctly, until I get to the line to open the subcategory.

I'm fairly new to Javascript and would be grateful for any help you can give me. I've had a search on Google and found a couple of potential solutions but nothing seems to work quite right for what I need.
Basically I have a form with several questions followed by Yes/No radio buttons. Dependent on which answer is given, I want to display a different message above the text box.
For example, if you answered 'no' to a certain question then the message above the text box would change to say "Please fill in additional information" or something along those lines.

I'm pretty bad with Javascript, but I need to hide or show a snippet of text (could be inside a div without problems) based on the selection of a dropdown menu (<select>). If they choose anything with the word "Series" on it, I need to show the snippet. If they choose anything without "Series" on it, then the snippet needs to disappear. I should mention the snippet is part of a form, just a checkbox but that shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

I know I need to include a onchange function to <select name="genus"> but as you can see I have a <div> already for it. I am confused how to create the function to display the table and also the how to include another div tag.

I'm looking for a Javascript workaround that'll allow me to indicate the current page on the main menu(basically, the menu button for that page will be a different colour to the rest of the menu buttons). The main menu is in CSS but isn't bringing up the required image for the "current menu item" indicator automatically and no one knows why.

In the menu in this page I have four different methods (you can see them in the <script> tag on the pages) of indicating the current page in a menu. I downloaded these from various web pages after Googling "jQuery highlight current page".None of the methods works. Is there something wrong with my selectors? Can anyone see why none of them are working?

I've created a nav bar for this site - [URL].. I'm using javascript to handle the image rollover which is working just fine. However I want to add to this so that the current page will stay with the second or rollover image. How would you suggest I edit or add to my code so it keeps the second image active if it is the active page? In my script file this is what I'm using for an image:
menu1buttonup = new Image();
menu1buttonup.src = "http://web11.3essentials.com/~cp27358/wp-content/themes/origin/images/menu1.jpg" ;
menu1buttondown = new Image() ;

And this is what my list items look like:
<a href="<?php echo home_url(); ?>/?page_id=7" onmouseover="buttondown('menu1button')"
onmouseout="buttonup('menu1button')"><img src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/images/menu1.jpg" name="menu1button" /></a>

It was originally an imaged based menu, but they wanted it all changed to css/html. I used quickmenu and it used JS to produce the arrows at the top of each menu item.I'm trying to program the menu items to stay active when on the current page. At first, it looks correct, but if you hover back over the menu, it changes back to the inactive state.

The two page sections you see on the page "One Time Gift" or "Monthly Subscription" are normally hidden via a document.write via a body onload. Generally, all of this functions well. But, I want to expand the use a bit here so I want to pass a $_POST value to this page from another page which hides or shows these two sections based on this passed value. So, if the value in "once", I want the div with the id="onetime" to be visible and the other div to be hidden. If the value is "monthly", then the opposite would happen. Now this is supposed to all happen as the page loads because we are just arrivng here from the sending page.

What I would like to do is have a page with a dropdown menu, and depending on which option the user chooses from the dropdown, reload the page and display a particular iframe below the dropdown, based on the users choice. Also, a default iframe would load (the one connected to the default choice in the select box). I was trying to make this work with PHP (without having the user having to click a submit button) but I couldn't find a way to make it happen.

I have a form with three fields. When the user changes the value of field1, the form displays either field2 or field3. This works fine for NEW records.However, I'm running into a problem when trying to EDIT an existing record. When the form is loaded, I need to test the value of field1 and display either field2 or field3. I've tried using the form onload event, but do not know how to access the value of field1.I'm using Javascript and div tags.This is what I have so far.

function hide(obj)

Im using a jQuery script to show/hide a div based based on the selection made via a dropdown.
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
The problem im having is that the value used in the dropdown lists are price values eg 10.00
Consequently jQuery seems to interprit these as css notations, meaning the code doesnt work.

To build a menu block which should be switchable with hide/unhide of the menu items, I'm using .append html. The code idea is this:
[Code]...
As can be seen from above posted code there is a line "<div id="' + menuSlider + '" style="display:none">". Appending that -- AFAIS -- the .append is automatically (????) adding "</div>" which closes the statement. That breaks my idea of the whole concept! The menu part isn't included in the 'menuSlider '. QQ: How to change it -- NOT to have that "</div" added to it??

I have a content slider called "Codaslider" (ver 1.1 I believe) setup, and using CSS I have an absolute positioned image hovering above the slider at all times. The effect is what I want, where I have a static image of my company's product hovering above the content slider, and the background images slide around showing various features and such.
I would like to make it where the customer can click anywhere within the bounds of the content slider (including on top of the static image), and be able to follow the link for the image in the content slider.
For example, if the background image shows "New Features" or something similar, I want the customer to be able to click anywhere and get to the "New Features" page.
So basically, is there a way to dynamically set the URL that the static overlaid image points to, based on what page the content slider is on?
Here is the javascript that setups up the content slider:
Code javascript:
<script type="text/javascript">
var theInt = null;
var $crosslink, $navthumb;

I am using AJAX + JSON to construct a HTML code, which physicaly does not appear on my page, but after is created and put in a variable I display it with innerHTML. Then with another on e function, I tell some of the <tr> to get style.display = 'none', which is working properly! Then I want to check which of them are currently invisible an d for that purpose I use:
Code:
for (p = 0; p < rows.length; p++) {
if(document.getElementById(rows[p].id).style.display == 'none') {
alert(rows[p].id);
}
}
where rows is a define array with getElementsbyTag with all the <tr> - s. Then what happens is really strange - I am getting alerted ALL the <tr> ids, including the currently visible, and, then they dissappear, (as if I have told them to make them style.display = none, which I haven't)!! I have tried also with currentStyle instead of style, but the effect is the same.

Im developing a site for my company that will contain relevant information on sites we serve (such as login details, passwords, addresses etc). It is available locally on our intranet due to the fact we have login details and such.
Anyway on the sidebar of my site (which is run on Wordpress), I have all the sections for the sites.
When a user clicks item #1, it expands and shows all the sites in that area.
The one problem is that when the sections are clicked on, they just expand in a very plain boring way.
I need it so that there is some sort of smooth transition between opening and closing the <div> sections.
Here is the current code I have now (I tried to edit as much of the comments as possible so it will make sense):
<script>
I found it on google, and modified it without having to change anything on the sidebar itself, just a simple paste to the head section.
This code also hides other currently open sections, so that only one may stay open at a time.
