how to create a drop down login panel.I've read any tut about drop down from DynamicDrive.com but it's not really what i'm looking forward.I try to change the content in "Drop Down Panel" script released into the relevant tut but it's not working.

I'm using a script for a drop down panel and it works fine, however I need to add a bit of a margin for the inner content but the script seems to be stripping it out in firefox, it works fine in ie and chrome. I've tried every trick in the book outside of editing the actual js file. I currently have a transparent image as a spacer at the top and it even ignores that. It seems that firefox just wont display anything above the first form field for some reason. Could someone take a look at this script quick and give me an idea on what to change to I can add like a 5px margin to the top of the content?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a sliding panel using css and jQuery, sliding up from the footer of our page. The panel is acitvated by clicking the "newsletter" link (will be used to display a subscription form) in the footer. Functionality looks good, but there is a problem with the look and the positioning. First of all, the positioning is off. It fits seemlesly in the FF I used for creating this effect, but on various browsers and resolutions, the div is displayed higher or lower in stead of "glued" to the top of the footer div. Secondly, I'd like this div to be 100% wide, just like the footer below, with a 940px centered div within to include the content.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to use several jQuery effects through a website that I am developing; a login popup, a drop down contact form, coda content scroller, and tabbed content. However, these implementations keep interfering with each other. Is there any way to get around this? I seems as though there must be a way to use multiple jQuery functions.
The page is here: [url] Implementing the Login Popup (which doesn't have a login form inside it yet) broke the contact drop down, and it stays revealed now. The tabbed content in the sidebar seems fine though.

I'd like to have one form that has username and password at the top and if that is all the user supplies, then try to log him in. Otherwise, validate all fields for registration.
The problem then lies in the remainder of the form which has email, name and password confirmation. I still want to run validate on those fields but ONLY if the user has typed at least one character in any one of them.
Is there a way to do this? Or an example somewhere? Can validate for certain fields only be turned on IF a certain other condition is met?
I wonder if it's possible to implement a menu like the one ofcbs.com?Basically, when mouse over some of the menu items, a menu panel shows up with a few columns of links. The many panel disappears when the mouse moves out. I think it's quite neat and I'm hoping to be able to do something like that with jQuery.

So i made a bookmark with this javascript injection, that fills in the info, and focusses on the 'aanmelden' button (='login' in dutch), so that i only have to press enter to continue. I have a a html page that is used as a login page.I know it is not secure but this is just for learning purposes, I'm not using it for anything important.My problem is that when I put in the correct login all that happens is the page just clears the text boxes as if you were starting over.I am trying to get it to go to register.html which is located in the same directory as the login page.

I tried various combination of single quote and double quote but I think I am missing some fundamental rules of single and double quote combination....or may be something else.

All i know how to do is using the mouseover effect, and then displaying an enlarged version of the image (thus creating a "drop down" effect). However, i do not know the code to make the image "drop down" gradually.
I am trying to create 2 different drop down menus which are chained.
First drop down menu: options 1, 2, 3, and 4
Second drop down menu: options 1, 2, 3 and 4
However for the first drop down menu, if you choose the number then that number cannot be selected again on the second drop down menu. So if i pick 4 on the first drop down. then only 1, 2, and 3 should show up on the second drop down OR if you pick 4 on the second drop down it gives you an error saying you selected that value.
Here is the complicated part that I cannot figure out.
I want each drop down menus on two different pages and not on the same page. So after you select the submit button on the first drop down it should go to another page with the second drop down.. Has anyone seen this before.
I have a question about the best way to execute this task. I am trying to create a page with a dropdown list where the user selects the state. A drop down list below that can have the specific schools to that state to choose from. Now I need a way for the user to click on a school and then be taken to a page that has website URL's from all the fraternities in that school.
Do I need php and mysql? I don't want to create a million pages unless I have to. What is the easiest way to do this. Maybe some kind of central form things where it outputs the fraternity you want at a particular school and state. Also I am using tumblr but can just link it to a normal html or php page just throwing that out there.

I was thinking that I could set the Div's value to a html file with the loading data while the PHP loads and then revert to the other page. Is there a way of doing this?
