Click() Method In Firefox

May 11, 2007

I'd like to automate some click events.
In IE, it's easy :

document.getElementById('lnk_1').click();
How can I implement it in FF ?

JQuery :: Firefox - Why Isn't The $.post Method Working

Jan 30, 2011

I'm trying to use the Ajax $.post method, in Firefox. This same code is working for me in Chrome. The form handler is working, and I can get Firebug to breakpoint on line 12, where the $.post method is called. But, it won't ever enter the callback, so it's not getting a response. I'm not seeing any data hitting my server, either, so I can tell the POST isn't going through.

One thing to mention that seems odd, the form handler doesn't seem to be executing until the timer, defined below the form handler, executes. When I hit Submit, it'll sit there and the breakpoint won't occur until the timer occurs. This seems odd to me.

Can anyone perhaps spot something that I am doing incorrectly, here?

Code is pasted here: [url]

After further inspection, the form handler isn't running on the timer. I removed the timer all together, and the form handler is still extremely slow. It takes 3-5 seconds to hit the $.post function after submitting. Why so slow?

GetElementById Click In Firefox

Apr 8, 2007

Does anyone know how i can get the getElementById().click() to work in Firefox? It works ok in IE6 but not FF. I've herd that the click() event is not supported by FF. Is there any way to fix it?

onMouseOver="parent.Switch.document.getElementById('DownON').click()"
There is an iframe on the page called "Switch". inside that it loads a html file with a button with an id of "DownON". Once that button is clicked it moves some text down. Works fine like i said in IE but not FF.

Firefox - Show When You Type In The Box, And Hide When You Click Away From The Box?

Mar 20, 2010

In IE, Safari, Chrome, and Opera (to an extent, still some bugs to work out there) the search suggestions show when you type in the box, and hide when you click away from the box, then re-appear when you click in the search box. In Firefox, however, the suggestions still show even when you click away from the box. I can't really figure out why it's happening, I've tried setting the CSS properties for both visibility and display, but neither worked. Here's the code for that part:

Code:
<input type="text" name="search" value="Search Cheezonastick" id="searchbox" onClick="this.value=''; this.style.color='#000000'; search_suggest.style.display='inline';" onBlur="this.value='Search Cheezonastick'; this.style.color='#666666'; [code]...

Prototype And Firefox - Create New Default Right Click Behavior?

Feb 3, 2010

I have a table (tables are for tabular data) with patient information. The user can click the row to select it and when they do the right part of the interface loads some additional information on the patient - quick lookup info if you will, but also provides links to tasks involving that information - edit, view case history, etc.I'd like to replace the default right click behavior on the rows to create a pop up menu next to the point of click that links to the same list of options for the convenience of the more savvy users.The project is being built with prototype so no jQuery please. The site is a corporate intranet where Firefox is the only browser it is *required* to work in. It would be nice to have it work in webkit.

Trap The Shift+click Event Of A DIV Works In IE And Chrome But Not In Firefox?

I am trying to trap the shift+click event of a DIV. Works in IE and Chrome but not in Firefox. Purpose of the code: The DIV provides a hidden link (no decoration) for an editor who wants to edit content. The DIV ignores a simple click (meaning a click without a combination of the shift key) to avoid accidental access to the casual surfer. Here is the logic of the code: DIV is clicked. call function to check for the shift key being depressed if the shift key were depressed during the "click", initiate access. If the shift key were not depressed, ignore the "click" Here is the HTML code:

But when I use the live-method (and it would be nice to use it) the middle Mouse-Button behaves like the left one.
