Clearing Two Popups And Text Fields On Checkbox Selection Not Working In Ie7
Mar 6, 2009
why isn't this working ok in ie7?:
[URL]
the javascript is:
Code:

/* */
function closed_changed(day) {
[Code].....
it should call closed_changed(), which sees if it's ticked/checked, if it is it calls clear_open() and sets the four open related input elements to empty/blank (because a shop can't be open and closed at the same time). works fine in firefox (pc and mac) and safari. not ie7. why not? (the intended clear does happen but only when another subsequent closed box is ticked; it works on the previous day which was ticked; so it's lagging one behind)
I am using jQuery AJAX to submit a form. When the data has been validated successfully and processed, I want to clear the form, but I am unsure how. I have been trying to make it work for a few hours now.
I am showing status messages in the container below:
When everything was successful, it looks like this:
And here is the simple code I use to clear the text fields:
What I need is a way to check if everything was successful and if so, then run the code above. I tried to do it in a few ways, but it kept clearing regardless of the status.
I have a client who wants to automatically send coupons that are selected by the customer on this page. Now, this will be handled by a mailing list software but it was suggested by the support team that the input fields (labeled coupon#_#) could be populated by using Javascript. There are 3 coupons and here's how have them structured:
I know how to do this the hard way, but I suspect that there's an easier option. I'm creating a program that requires a series of 4 or 6 select menus. Something like this: Code:
I've done a search for this because I'm certain I'm not the first to have this problem, but I could not find the solutions. I am marginally experienced with PHP but have no knowledge of javascript. This is for a scheduling program. Prior to generating the form, the question is asked as to how many days are needed, and the form automatically generates the appropriate # of fields. They are, for this example, as follows:
Day 1, Title 1, Description 1 Day 2, Title 2, Description 2 Day 3, Title 3, Description 3 Day 4, Title 4, Description 4
I would like to add a checkbox (entitled "Same as Previous Day") that allows the user to duplicate the previous entry, populate the fields so the database is properly filled, and make the fields it just populated uneditable. So for the example, if day 2 and 3 were the same as day 1, I could select a box for each day 2 and day 3 and their titles and descriptions would be filled with the information from Day 1.
I have a working script here regarding generating a
that contains a text. My concern is whenever the checkbox is unchecked, the type hides but the value is still there (the one inputted)
Here is my code for reference:
HTML Code: function showCheckBoxDiv (DivName, box) { vis = (box.checked) ? "block" : "none";
[Code]....
Say for example, I click the checkbox, the field appears, I inputted something on the field, but I unchecked the checkbox, when I click again the checkbox the value I input is still in the field. Is there any way, it can be cleared as soon as the checkbox is unchecked?
I have a form with two input fields - 'name' & 'research'. What I'd like is for 'name' to be cleared when the user clicks in 'research' & visa versa. I've tried to do this by implementing the code in Sitepoint's excellent new DHTML Utopia article, but without success. I'm guessing that I should be using the onblur event, but am not sure how to go: Code:
I have a page with 5 sets of form fields. Each field set has a checkbox that if checked will allow users to utilize it. I want to clear the given field set when the user un-checks the check box. As you can see in the code below this method will make for a very long and cluncky script, I would like to make it more generic.
For some reason, in IE8, on product pages (Example) of my ecommerce site, the 'Size Chart' and 'Email to a Friend' popups don't work, and the product image lightbox won't work eitherbrowser I have tested in, including IE7. It seems to only be IE8 that is having this problem.Upon looking at the page source, one thing I have noticed that both the 'Size Chart' and 'Email to a Friend' buttons have in common, is that the popups seem (I'm far from an expert) to be 'triggered' by a span element (class="more") within the HTML. For example:
I have tested the thumbnail images that link to a popup detail page and they seem to work fine in Safari and Firefox on a mac and in IE on Windows (not sure which version of IE, I was using the PC at a UPS Store). Why does my client insist that they do not work? Any javascript issues with my code? I know it is a bit old since it was created a few years ago but I even got it to work on my iPhone today.
I am just finishing a site for a photographer which uses Flash for the interface, PHP to display a number of image thumbnails (4 scripts, depending on the route the visitor has chosen) and then 1 PHP page with lots of JavaScript to open the correct image in a new popup window.
It all works in the latest versions of NN & IE but the problem is that some of the site owners' clients use older browsers and the JavaScript popups are not working in NN 4.7.
The address of the developing site is here. The JavaScript that I am using is an adaptation of Anarchos' great script.
Are there fundamental things I am missing regarding NN 4.7 and JavaScript or would my scripting in JavaScript be wrong?
I am trying to track down an issue with some content in a couple of popups generated with j-query. If you go to [URL] and role over and click on ethiopia on the African continent, you will get a map that pops up. On the map you will see one or more flags. If you click on them another popup will be generated and it has tabs at the top. Clicking on these shows or hides certain content. If you do the same thing for say India or Nepal, it all works except the tabs at the top. They do nothing. I have compared the code to the ethiopia code and it should be the same. I have tried naming the content areas uniquely although I do not think that should make a difference in this case.
I need to clear the default value from a textarea when a user clicks on the textarea and then replace it if the user clicks away from the textarea without modifying it. I have managed to accomplish this with the textfields in my forms but I am struggling to get the textarea element to mimic this behavior. Here is the script I am using:
This is some of the script that I have and it works well. The story is that I have a drop down list and depending on the selection a different set of text is displayed below the list.
However when the selection runs this part of the code:-
[Code]....
The "web 3" text is placed under where the 'Link0' text would have been if there had been some. So basically what I need to do is set the 'Link0' text to nothing and have the 'Link1' text sit in its place. I know I could just put the 'Link1' text in the 'Link0' element but I have other controls on the screen that mean I need to run it as it is.
I'm currently designing a form with client-side validation using javascript. I've set the input property to display as the value (for example, "your name" inside the name field) and I've set the javascript to clear value using name.focus but everytime I reselect the field to edit the value, it clears again, so I'm trying to make it so that on the 2nd time it get's selected, the nameClear funtion doesn't run.Here's what I've got so far, but it's not working. For some reason, the else statement within the function that runs on .focus is showing as invalid in my debugger, but it looks fine to me.
'trying' to write a checkbox type calculator. How can I do something along the lines of,If 5 checkboxes are checked, apply a 2% discount to the total.I am by no means an expert in javascript. I found a bit of jQuery
Code: $(document).ready(function() { var total = 0;
I've created a dynamic table with a checkbox.I'd like to be able to return the value of the cell in the right column of the checkbox that has been ticked, and then disply the values when the approve button is clicked.Looks something like this:
I have a list of input fields within the form and a button that can be clicked to add new input fields into the form. This works but if any of the input elements have had text entered into them, then this text is cleared when the button is selected. code...
I wrote an application that generates HTML based on some database record set. One of the HTML generated is a checkbox with NAME=StudentID. This is to facilitate user to select this user for further processing. This also means that ALL student have a checkbox named StudentID. I do I ensure that only one checkbox is selected at any time before the user proceed with the processing of the selected student.
I'm in the middle of adding some validation functionality to an inventory tracking form.
What I would like to do is have one dropdown menu/Listbox(Part Number) and another text field (Product Description).
When the user selects an item from the drop down (IE 12S0FB) it will autopopulate the text field with a description of the product. At the moment I will hard code the values in.
