Not sure if this should have went into the php or javascript forum. I am trying to setup a script that will automatically population a html selection option based on the choice of the previous selection. If hard code everything it will work fine example manufacturer is currently being populated dynamically when the pages loads. The issue is I am can't pass pass the manufacturer variable through to be processed to only retrieve the models for that manufacturer. The code also uses a standard ajax script which httprequest in it.
how to Change a Hidden Fields Name based on selected option. The hidden fields name is sent off and I need to change the name depending on what option they select. For if they select MyList the hidden field name needs to be SelectLists[40] or if they select testlist the hidden field name needs to be SelectLists[41]. This is probably way, way off but I've done this and it doesn't work.
I'm using the following code to remove an option from a select control based on a selection in a different select control and the option text in the select option that is being removed. The code works as I want it to, but I would prefer to use the option value for identifying the option to remove instead of using the option text. I've tried several different ways to do this, but can not find the proper syntax.

I have been wrestling with a problem, I am trying to change the url of an Iframe from a simple selection box, once the user selects the desired url they wish to visit from the main page the iframe then loads the url while not affecting the main page. I am using the onchange event of the select tag to drive the javascript function hopefully passing the value of the selection wich in this case is the url to the independant script wich will in turn will change the src of the iframe from the default page that is loaded when first viewing the page.One question I have is would it be better to use the onload event to set the initial src then use the onchange event form the select to change the src or staticly set the src then use the onchange event to change it? below is an example of my code so far. Also currently whenever I try to pass teh value to the script I get an object expected error and nothing happens.Bear in mind I know enough C++ to make myself dangerous and can stay on top javascript to a point but right now I am just lost. just need a nudge in the right direction at this point please :D

i am building a website form which I would like the user to select a product of interest. Some products are three tiered and some are two tiered.

If the user wants to submit their interest for one of the products, I need to have at most 3 dropdown menus. So in Example 1, I would have 3 dropdowns in my form. Dropdown 1: Scooters Dropdown 2: Three Wheel Scooters Dropdown 3: Delux 503S Bird Scooter.In Example 2, I would only need to use the first 2 dropdown menus. (Obviously the first dropdown would contain 'Scooters' and 'Standing Bikes' in the menu list)I would like to alter the code so that the second and third dropdowns are hidden until a selection from the first drop down is made. Once for example, 'Standing Bikes' is selected from the first dropdown menu, the second dropdown menu appears and the third remains hidden due to the fact that it is not required. If I selected Scooters from the first dropdown menu, the second dropdown would appear listing all items associated with this and at this point the third dropdown menu is hidden. This code is able to display a table and show me state, County, Genus and GenusCount and also it shows when I select option as All for Counties in my drop down. it can based on which it can change my table and give me State, all the Counties, its Genus, GenusCount but when I select a particular County and then select for genus in my drop down menu. I'm wanting to hide certain divs within a container. If the sub div DOESN'T have a checkbox which is selected in it, then it should be hidden when you click the link. eg: if #2 and #5 checbox only where selected then divs(sub_1,sub_3,sub_4) would be hidden when link was clicked.
I am trying to display three different types of forms of the same page. One of the three will appear based on the selection. Right now my code has everything shown when you first reload the page and then when you select something it all disappears and nothing comes back. I am trying to use divs because the forms will perform the same action just with different parameters. It is a lot of code but the forms are the same thing just wrapped in a different div and I know they work. hopefully this will cut down on the amount of time you have to look at it.

I am new to javascript stuff but am looking to develop a form which includes 2 drop down menus but I would like to grey out some options in the second one based on the selection in the first. Basically this is a simplification of what I have:
What I would like is that if south or east are selected for orientation then I can only select front left or front right but if north or west are selected then only rear left or rear right are available.
