Time Based CSS Class Change?

Aug 18, 2011

I am in need of changing the class of a number of divs for a specific loop in one of my clients' pages. My javascript skills and knowledge, however, are direly lacking, and I see myself in the unfortunate position of trying to take on more than I can handle.

What I want is a function that runs on page load, ad eternum, changing the class of #foo into .bar and into .foobar alternatively, every X seconds.

I am looking for a script that changes an image based on time. The ideal script would work something like this.

Image A displays from 12:00 - 2:59

Does anyone know where I can find a script like this or vary similar to display certain things at certain times?

Make Body Content Scroll At The Same Time As An Iframe Located Within The Body?

Feb 21, 2011

I'm trying to make my body content scroll at the same time as an iframe located within the body. This has to do with the age old problem of mouse focus on iframes. When my mouse reaches the iframe and it takes over focus, I would like the body to keep scrolling until the iframe is right at the top of the screen. After that I want to relinquish focus to the iframe. I don't mind if the iframe starts scrolling as soon as the mouse reaches it, so long as the main body keeps scrolling for a while.

Convert UTC Time To A Definable Local Time?

Apr 15, 2010

There are probably a million threads about time conversion, but I cannot find the answer to my problem. So I'm making it a million and one...

I have my date/time stamps stored in UTC (ie number of second since the Unix Epoch). How do I convert this to a definable local time in JavaScript? With definable I mean any local time, not necessarily the machine local time.

In PHP I would do it as follows:

Code:
$utc = time(); // current UTC
$timezone = "America/New_York";
date_default_timezone_set($timezone);
echo date("Y-m-d H:i:s", $utc);

The above would give the current date/time in New York. I would like to be able to do this in JavaScript for any time given in UTC.

Code:
var Cdate = new Date();
var Smiltotal = Date.UTC(Cdate.getFullYear(), Cdate.getMonth(), Cdate.getDate(), Cdate.getHours(), Cdate.getMinutes(), Cdate.getMilliseconds());
var Pdate = new Date(Smiltotal);
var Smonth = Pdate.getMonth()+1;

Local Time Conversion Code/Script?

We facilitate webinars/conferences and post the date/time of the events on our website.Presently, we list the times in various United States time zones to make it easier for viewers to determine what time the event will take place within their time zone.However, posting the date/time in all the time zones makes the event calendar look too busy,cluttered, and somewhat confusing.Is anyone aware of an html code/script that would allow me to post the times in my time zone (Mountain Standard Time) to where the time is automatically converted to the viewers local time on their computer? Detect Broweser+version And Place This As A Body Class In JS?

Oct 28, 2011

I've obtained some server side PHP code which places the browser and version (taken from the USER AGENT string response header) in a class of my body HTML element i.e. <body class="ie ie7"> I'm using this as a CSS hook for cross browser styling.

Im running the site on Wordpress with a caching plugin which spits out a HTML version of the page. The problem is, is that the cache doesnt refresh on a per new user basis so if the first user comes in using Chrome this will get added to static file <body class="chrome"> and obviosly wont refresh if the next user is on say IE as it is now cached as a flat HTML.

I'm wondering is there a better way to do this client side and manipulate the DOM after the page has loaded? If so, anyone got any code that can do this?code...

Changing Font-size Property In Body Definition?

Mar 27, 2010

I've got a website with font sizes using 'em's. I've made it so that in my 'body' CSS styling, I can change the font size and it changes it right throughout the whole site.

I have hyperlinks to increase and decrease the font size but have no idea how to get the links to change the 'font-size' property in my 'body' definition. As a secondary requirement (but not essential) I also need to remember this value and store in a cookie so the user doesn't need to keep resizing the page on every reload.
