How to change style on a series of divs (with similar structure but different content) *only if* all the children are visible (that's using visibility, not display).
Sample div:
<div class="h">
<p class="a1">text</p>
<p class="b2">more text></p>
<p class="b3">text text</p>
<p class="a4">text...</p>
<p class="link_display_none_visibility_visible">div name</p></div>
I think it needs to use contents(), but not sure about handling node numbers.

I have a form that I am using for several different pages as they are exactly the same... however at the top you must make a choice from the drop down box that then shows the appropriate fields to fill in. Can I make the drop down default to a certain option depending on which page they are coming from?

I currently have a normal link like Code:<a href="http://sitepoint.com" class="link">sitepoint</a> and when a user clicks on it I want to be able to change the "link" class to a different class. However, I don't want to add anything to the actual link html. Is it possible to do this using javascript without modifying the original link code?

I'm trying to create a list that contains items which are filters for a search. The list shows 10 items (max) on the page load. if there are more than 10 it changes the class of the elements > 10 so they are hidden, and a 'show more' link is appended. Now if the user has 'unhidden' the previously hidden items and then chooses one, I want the class for all those previously hidden items to change until the user has deselected that item.
[Code]...
Is there a better, smaller way to write this? It works for what i need currently, but there are future features im planning that will not be practical checkingindividualindexes the way i've done it.

I am trying to create a list of customers that we do weekly reports for. What I would like to do is if the current date falls in between $date (variable of last updated report) and $date+7 (i.e. a week later) then display the text in green else display text in red.

I am building a web application using PHP. It lists each salesperson and below it, the clients assigned to them. There are only about 5 or 6 salespeople. There could be any number of clients for a salesperson. Each salesperson is given their own div and client information (name, email, phone) is grouped with an unordered list:
Code:
<div id="salesperson-1">
<h1>Salesperson 1</h1>
<ul>
<li>Steve Smith</li>
<li>steve@company-a.com</li>
<li>555-5555</li>
<li><a href="#">Delete Client</a></li>
</ul>
<a href="#">Delete Salesperson</a>
</div>
I would like to be able to delete (actually hide) either a salesperson or client depending on which link the user clicked. I have been using JQuery throughout my site so far and I can accomplish the task for the salespeople by creating individual events for 6 salespeople. If there are only 5 people, the 6th event will never be triggered. If there are 6, everyone is covered. The tricky part are the clients since I can't guarantee a specific number of them. I would like to fit best practices as much as possible and reduce the complexity of my code if I can. Keeping that in mind...Is there a better way to handle the salespeople rather than rewriting the function 6 times? Can I pass a variable to a JQuery function using the onClick binder on the <a> tag --> <a href="#" onClick=deleteClient(10)> and use the variable to determine which client to delete? Would using a function in plain javascript and ignoring JQuery for this entirely be better?

I was wondering if there is a way to use Jquery to reduce the amount of images I use on my company website as well as resize them depending on the page they're displayed on. It's just that I feel that's it's very tedious creating 5 or 6 formats for each campaign each with it's own dimensions depending on the page and unfortunately my company doesn't want to implement a Backoffice fed site, which means I have to do it all manually.

I'm trying to write a piece of javascript that will check a single checkbox depending on a dynamically-imported piece of information further up the page. The page will look like this:
[Code]....
The variable which indicates which checkbox should already be checked is in the div 'title' in the p class 'white'. So in the case above, when the page loads the 'Option 1' checkbox should already be checked. The javascript i have, rather poorly, cobbled together so far just doesn't work, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some useful tutorials. All the tutorials I have read so far deal with mass checking all the boxes with a button click.

What I'm trying to do is create three rules depending on the path of a page. If the path contains 'best-sellers', I want jQuery to set the class of the page to 'pm-best-sellers'. I can do this, and it works, but when I add the rules for 'express-gifts' and 'eco-friendly' it breaks.
Here's what I've got:

i thought it'd be something like:
document.getElementById("link").nodeValue = 'javascript:dothat();'
but alas, this does not work.

I'm a member of a forum the for the Winter season has changed it's CSS a:link color attribute to a more winter themed colour. However I want to revert back to original as I don't particularly like the new colour.
My theory is to create a small JS file, that I can define Opera (my browser) to load when loading the site, which will change the colour of links back to the original colour. I have the colour code HTML I want to change it to.
I've only ever done a small amount of JS coding but from the research I've done it should go something like this,
document.style.alinkColor = "COLOR"
I got to that via discovering that
document.style.backgroundColor = "COLOR"
will change the background colour attribute, however it doesn't seem to work. I think my problem lies somewhere in the attribute name, I know the usually with JS CSS Attributes you would make the attribute starting with a lower case letter and the sub-attribute (e.g. the color bit) starting with an upper case.

I am using the JQuery cycle plugin that lets me use buttons to fade in and out between different content. The structure is as follows:
HTML Code:
It all works fine but now I need to change the second <a> above, or specifically its ID from "middle1b" to "middle1" on the fly. I'm trying to do it via the method below but somehow JQuery isn't finding the second <a> and hence it can't change it's ID from "middle1b" to "middle1".
Code:
I need to change the link's ID so the hover button image is different as this is necesary to blend it in with the content above it.

I am running a website and I want to display many things on the same page. Currently what I have is something like this: [two buttons here][some code here, showing][some code here, hiding]When i click the second button, the hidden code replaces the code that was just showing. The first button then re-hides that code and shows the first code again. What I want to do is combine the two buttons so that when you click the first one, the text and hyperlink will change to display that of the second button. And when you click the button again, it will change to the text and hyperlink of the first button.
