I'm trying to center a javascript fading-slideshow.
The javascript slideshow is 1100 pixels wide. I want it centered even if the visitor's resolution is 1024px wide or less, plus I want the website to not introduce a left-right scroll bar.

I'm creating a Dreamweaver CSS site based off a template I purchased.In this site,I want to have page with a gallery of my company's products.So I went to http://smoothgallery.jondesign.net/, used the "Gallery Set" setup, and put it into my web page.It all works GREAT...except the gallery is left-aligned and I want it centered on my page.I'm not all that familiar with css or javascript, and nothing I'm doing is getting my gallery to center.

1) When you check my page you can see the slideshow not being aligned in the center at all but being left-aligned. Is there a way to nicely center the photos in the frame instead of them being left-aligned? Is this css related (I have set the containing div of my slideshow to float:left)?
2) I have the script from here. How can I create another slideshow with different pictures? Is this the instance they are talking about - but how can I enter different URL's?
I have to do a slideshow with images of different widths... am using cycle plugin, which I like very much... In the past few days I've been trying to make this script work but why the following script works on IE but not on other browsers? It seems that IE waits for the <img> tags to load in the #slideshow and then starts the slideshow. The other browsers seem to load the slideshow while the XML parser is trying to load img tags. It only shows the first image and doesn't do anything else. What could cause this? I tried delay(), load(), ready().

JQuery slideshow works in dream weaver but doesn't work at all in the browser. I can't even see the pictures of the controllers for the slideshow. I can see the first image in it and thats about it as you have to click on a button to get the second menu button. It is the one at the following website [URL]. I took out the background and changed the dimensions to 900 and other than that left it the same I don't understand the issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet me start of by saying that I'm a designer, not a programmer so I'll apologize in advance for having very little knowledge of javascript.I found a free script for a auto-advancing slideshow that allows you to give each image in the slideshow a unique link. My problem is that when you click on one of the pictures the link opens in a new window instead of loading in the default browser window. I have tried to search google for an answer but my lack of javascript knowledge has left me scratching my chin.Here's the code in the head of my page:

So Im trying to create a slideshow with thumbnails the user can scroll through and use to navigate the slideshow. I'm a big fan of cycle so I wanted to use that as my main slideshow component and was planning on using jcarousel for the pager. So far it works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, yet in IE the thumbnails are not loading. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the images in the pager are generated and then jcarousel just isnt proccessing that in IE but I 'm not sure. I feel like I'm very close to getting this slideshow to work, yet I need to figure out why it is failing in IE.

I am trying to make a prompt that will ask the user for some input...
If I just use var input = prompt("dafa") everything works fine but the
box is put in the top left corner of the window. I need it to be
centered so... I was doing some research on the net (never really used
much JavaScript before) and was reading the only way to do this is by
making your own custom prompt. In my attempts of doing so I came up
with this code below. The problem I am having now is that when
onMaxLoad_Click() occurs the prompt appears for a split second and then

Can somoene give me an example of how to center a div, according to it's
image size... I am using different images, and so I have to resize it in a
functino according to the image's size. So I use a h and w vairable that
give me the height and width of the current image, but I can't seem to come
up with a simple freaking formula to center the image vertically and
horozontally.

The numbers in the table are just to keep track of how centered the horizontal scroll bar is. Mess around with the table width; Change it to 100 or to 10000. The numbers stay aligned perfectly.
Anyone have any problems with different browsers?
I need to center (horizontally as well as vertically) a div on screen. It will be in front of everything else on the page and will include dynamic HTML content. (radio buttons, text input, etc.) Essentially it's an in-page popup. (Don't call me evil, this is for a game I'm making.) So far I can get FF to center it with this code:

Is there a way to center a window that is already open using javascript?
I have seen many scripts on how to center the window when it is poped up ... but nothing using the DOM to center it when it is open already ..
I have written a short script that checks if a user has a screen rez lower than 1025 (so that the ipad is included) if it is bigger than 1025 then it centres a div according to the screen size.
