Ajax :: Functionality To Post The Data Comes From A Text Area ?
Jun 23, 2010
I am trying to use ajax functionality to post the data comes from a text area, the data can be 2MB, it seems that the browser deals with the data so slowly, how to improve the performance?
There is a Text Area that user can enter text. assume that user enter something and put a dot Following values should be populate in a drop down at the place where dot locate .
like when we get the string object using Net Beans IDE and when we put "Object." , drop down will be displayed with available methods for that particular object. idea is to build a editor using java script.
I am having a bit of an issue here. For some reason my ajax POST does not send all the information.The first parameters work fine, the others seem to be lost or something.
HTML Code: replytext = encodeURIComponent(document.reply.replytext.value); kunde = encodeURIComponent(document.reply.kunde.value);
I have a problem with sending data from a form to a php script with AJAX. To test if it works, I try to send data from the form, print it in the php with "echo", and then put it back in the initial html file.
My Javascript code is:
The function stateChanged, basically says:
The problem is that the response is empty, but I don't know why. I have checked the input data and the postData variable says "firstName="+input (e.g. "firstName=Robert"), so that's not the error.
The data is a serilaized form that "alerts" correctly with all the data using this
[code]....
The alert gives me a string like product=p1&qty=1&product=p2&qty=2 But when I try to php echo out the results on basket-calc.php I get an "empty" array [code]...
The server i'm trying to post data to in an ajax call expects data in xml format, including a particular attribute value. I have to use Chrome browser which does not support the XML Class (e4x).
I tried to marshal my data as follows:
But the ajax call does not appear to transfer the xml data to the server even though the xmlhttprequest call appears ok in Chrome's developer tool console.
I'm wondering whether I'm forming the xml formatted data correctly.
I'm using jquery-1.4.2 with PHP. I have a grid of records with a link to a form i'd like to use to edit the row with. The form is built using php, and works as expected when called just using a regular html link.
When the form is called using $(".ajax").click(function(event), the form comes up, but the textarea(s) are messed up; <textarea>Stuff for the text area
im sure this will be pretty simple, at the moment i have some code which sends text from a textarea to a php file, the php file then stores the data into a database.the javascript post is as follows:
var text = document.getElementById(area).value; http.open('post', 'autosave.php?text='+text);
there is a little bit more to this(just a handle response).My issue is that when the data is passed through javascript newlines and breaks disappear, so when i call the saved data it is presented as one long string with no formatting.i tried the nl2br() function and htmlspecialchars() function in the php file that the javascript passes the data to, this made no difference. I then tried to replace /n with <br /> in the javascript before passing the text variable again this made no differnce.
So I'm currently working on a ASP.NET Webforms site and I've run in to a small problem. On my .cs file I have the following Webmethod
[WebMethod] public static string IsJobEditable(int jobid){ try{ string isEditable = "false"; JobsBLL jbl = new JobsBLL(); int jobStatusId = jbl.GetJobStatusId(jobid); //If the jobs is either waiting or being edited it is okay to edit it if(jobStatusId == Convert.ToInt32(ConstantsUtil.JobStatus.Waiting) || jobStatusId == Convert.ToInt32(ConstantsUtil.JobStatus.Edit)){ isEditable = "true"; }return isEditable; }catch (Exception ex){ throw ex; }}
This function in this case will ALWAYS return TRUE as a string. On Aspx page I have the following $(function () { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "Coordination.aspx/IsJobEditable", data: "{jobid:" + jobid + "}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "text", success: function (result) { alert(result);
//This is written out in the alert {"d":"true"} I want this in a variable as a string so I can do a check on it before I do some other actions. The format is not a String so I cannot split on it to retrieve the "true" part. }, error: function (err, result) { alert(err); } });});
As you can see in the comments the value I get back in the Callback method is in to me a weird format. The type is unknown and I need this value to be able to proceed with my entire method surrounding the small portion of the Javascript. Where to access the result variable / data as a var or anything else that will let me put it into a var (as a string).
I'm having a weird problem using ajax. I use ajax to create a input field inside a form.
like this:
Before Ajax script
Code:
After Ajax script
Code:
The Ajax script works perfectly. the problem occurs when I try to send the form with the new field. The form doesn't send the field data to test.php. And more weird is that it works on IE, only on FF the problem occurs. Nothing shows in the Errors Console, and I have the last Firefox version.
I would like to submit a form depending on the success data of an ajax post.
Below is my jquery code; as you see #theform is the main form and before submitting the form I need to check the availability of the the date and time and the room using$.ajax. However it doesn't submit the main form if the date, time and the room is available.
required=["txtCal_Event_CalendarID","txt_TreatmentRoom","txtTreatmentID","txtTreatmentTypeID","datepicker1","datepicker2","timepicker1","timepicker2"]; emptyerror="Please fill out this field.";
1. When I have the "<textarea>" code lines in it put a text-area on the page, but it puts all of the code following that first text-area line into the text-area box and doesn't execute that segment of code.
2. When there is no "<textarea>" (for the sake of seeing if the rest of it worked) it doesn't check the survey.
I'm stumped and can't figure out what to do at this point Code and pictures follow:
I wonder if i can make the variable data which is [data] in jQuery.post( url, [data], [callback], [type] ) dynamic. for instance, this is the form i want to send,
I am writing a small data entry screen that will post the form data to a page and return a message. But i cannot get the Success or Error functions working properly.
Here's the code where strData is the posted querystring of:
I'm not sure whether it should be in a form and using the onsubmit or click of a button.
I am trying to use jQuery's AJAX functionality to make a progress bar. A request is submited via AJAX, which starts importing data to a database. Once submited another AJAX request is called on an interval which checks the progress of this import, a progress meter is then updated using this information. However, the progress AJAX call which is fired on the submit of the form only returns once the import has complete. Its like its being blocked by the initial request? How I can get both calls to work at the same time?
I have a webpage (on a Drupal website) which is currently using the jquery tabs javascript. Each tab dynamically loads content through an Ajax Call.Drupal has a javascript file called tabledrag.js which allows the users to order the elements of a table by dragging them up and down in the list and this will reflect the elements position when you submit the form. When the content of the Ajax tab loads, I need the document.ready code (or drupal.behaviours, the equivelent) to fire off.However, this code has already fired when the page first loaded, as opposed to the content inside the ajax tab. How can I force reload the tabledrag.js so that it will re-run its document.ready behaviour?
