I'm sure this is very basic but I'm having a hard time adding a hyperlink to text within javascript. I want to add a website link to the text 'click here' that is being displayed under the image within javascipt. I end up modifying the whole image instead, removing the javascript that displays the larger version of the image. Here's the coding. I'm using Dreamweaver CS5 on a PC to modify a few things and using another website building program to get the basic layout. I'm just a small business owner trying to get my website off the ground. code...
I have a web server built in to our Student Data system. I want to put a teacher survey form out there but can't modify the DB and have no cgi ... darn proprietary web server.
Can I use JS to save form values to a separate text file? So far the best I can do is appendData() into the current html.
I've got a function, you can see it below, that is being called onmouseup in the textarea on my main form. The idea is to find a selection if possible and store that text in a global variable. I can't get this to work in any browser on a Mac, though it works alright on a PC. What am I missing?
Is it possible to create a text hyperlink with 2 different font colours in one word e.g. Hyperlink so that the colours swap over when the mouse is placed over any part of the link i.e.. Hyperlink. ?Using #FF6600 for orange and #006600 for green and by setting the css as follows:
Basically what we are trying to accomplish is this... We have a php file in which a hyperlink "Select Forms" is present. What we want to happen is when the "Select Forms" link is clicked on a pop-up window will open. The content of this window is generated from our database and displayed for the user. The php in this window generates a list of checkboxes for the user to select and an "OK" button.
What we want to happen is when the user selects the various checkboxes and clicks "OK" the window closes and the previous "Select Forms" link is converted to text based on the checkboxes selected from the pop-up window. We have the pop-up window already taken care of, as well as the php codes. We are having a hard time getting the php variables for the checkboxes transferring to the previous window and converting that link to the text variables.
I'm building a small site that displays my companys benefits. The site is a single page with 5-10 benefits positioned on the page with CSS. I'd like to have an area along the side that displays more text info on any benefit on a mouseover of the benefit.
I hope this makes sense, sorry I can't post an image, still in the process of organising a host.
I can view plain text public data from a government web page. But I want to capture that text and put it into a string var in a javascript to parse the data for display in a very different way (create graphical indicators).
1. How do I get the www.webtext.gov/textpage.txt into a string var. 2. I would prefer to use pure javascript as my users are very diverse and not all of them have recent brosers (IE8 or 9, Firefox 4, 5 or 6, etc.). 3. I would be able to use php on the server if that would do it.
I have be days searching the web for a solution but have found none that suits my purpose.
I have a PHP form with a html section at the bottom. There are 14 input text fields on the form and I want the form to send of the email as it should do and also take the name field, pass it to the following web page and display it in a <div> tag.
I think the relevant code looks like this
HTML section
Can I capture the input from FieldData0 and send it to the next webpage by Javascript or as a cookie? Or to have then confirm their name in a second form and automatically capture it before the submit button.
I am creating a dialog that has three asp.net buttons inside it. I want to change the text property of the buttons from jquery. I have tried the following code but it does not work. The text is not changed.
//server control id=b1 var b1 = $("#<%=b1.ClientID %>"); b1.text("yes");
currently I have a page with six links. Now since I want to display the imformation on those six links (when each is clicked) in a #mainDiv (below all the links). if figured the most efficient way of doing so was to have all six "links" in six different div's -- all with display: none... and when a user clicks a link I just have the appropriate div set to display: block. Code:
I'm doing a very simple expand/collapse function using 'slideToggle'. The button that triggers this event simply says 'Expand/collapse'. I want this text to change depending on whether an element is visible or hidden.
I have an index.htm page ready. I want to be able to put in javascript code into the HTML coding that will write the ip address of the actual server that is hosting the website into a hidden text box. Then I want to insert this ip address into a hyperlink in the original index.htm to link to another html page (this will be a SSL secure page instead i.e. [URL].Also vice versa. (With SSL index.htm page have code that writes ip into hidden text box then hyperlink to the original http index page)
i have a script that changes an image in the main frame when you hover over a hyperlink in the navigation frame. however i would like to extend this and make the image that appears to be a hyperlink. the code i have is below. the navigation frame:-
I am trying to find a way to create a hyperlink that includes the URL of the current page as a query parameter, eghttp://website.com/ref?url=http://mywebsite.com/thispage.htmwhere the bit in green is generated from the URL of the current page rather than hard-coded into the HTML. The reason for this is that I am putting it into a page fragment to be called up with a virtual include and will appear on hundreds of pages, so I really don't want to have to hard-code the link every time!I don't use PHP or any form of CMS, so I think my best bet is to use Javascript (it's a non-critical function so I am not too worried if it fails for people without JS enabled). I think I could probably cobble something together using document.write but I suspect there is a better way of doing it.
I have code that basically will bold a hyperlink when a check box is checked. For example I have checkboxes that say;
Eggs [] Waffles [] Ham [X] Wheat Bread[X] White Bread[] Cheese[X]
When those boxes are checked it will bold links as follows
Breakfast sandwich Lunch Sandwich Dinner Sandwich
What I'd like to do is while the check boxes are being checked it'll highlight those hyperlinks that fall into the checked values. When it reaches a value that it doesn't fall into it will unbold itself. So far I have code that when a a certain combo of boxes is checked, it'll highlight, but like I said. I'd like to keep the links highlighted until it reaches a condition that'll make it unbold. Code:
Usually a change in the querystring causes a page reload and procedural code can can then run with the loading of a page. What I need to do is run code when links cause the browser to focus on an anchor.
For instance, I want to fire a script that prints to the screen every time the querystring changes via the following links: Code:
Does anybody of you have a good algorithm to capture when a value in a textbox is changed? I'm using the keypress/keydown events but they seems to be a bit inconsistent (IE and Mozilla). Basically what I want is to set is a "isDirty" flag when a user has changed any value in the textbox (or in a dropdown) and then if he/she tries to leave the record without saving I want to give a save warning. Since I don't want set the isdirty flag if you for example klick tab, certain F-buttons, arrows (up/down/left/right) etc I tried to capture the keypress/keydown event and ignore specific keycodes. Since there are several keycodes that should be ignored I was hoping there is a better solution.
