I built a site w/ a fairly simple jQuery tooltip that displays an image w/ a border around it on mouseover using a script from URL....I'm trying to use the 2nd script they provide. It worked great with regular html, but then I decided to build the html that produces the tooltip w/ the javascript. Now this code still works fine in IE, but not FF or Chrome (oddly enough). The images are built just fine in FF and chrome, but the tooltip simply doesn't show up at all. There are no javascript errors being reported. So there seems to be some problem in how I'm creating the html using javascript. The elements I'm creating aren't using the tooltip function somehow.I can include the CSS if needbe, but its pretty simple.
I'm working on a list with doctypes and fases. There are n types and n fases. The fases can be ordered by dragging them.
example:
[btn Append new type] - a - a.1 - a.2
[Code]....
I have a fancybox (lightbox) to append new doctypes and fases, but after appending either one, the functions dont work anymore (dragging and opening the lightbox of the appended doctype.
The HTML gets appended without a prob. But it seems that the initiation of the draggable <ul> and the lightbox links doenst work.
I tried adding Javascript to re-initialize the functions, but this doenst work.
How can i fix the prob that appended links with the right class show the lightbox when they are clicked, and how do i make an <ul> draggble after one is added?
p.s. function appendFase(docTypeId,appendThis){ $(docTypeId).append(appendThis); $(docTypeId).sortable('refresh'); } gives error's...
I am trying to build a site using html, css and javascript. problem is it works perfectly in IE but practically not at all in firefox. I have lots of mouseovers and tooltips, none of which will work. The only thing that seems to work is an onload random image generator. The html and css all return no errors using firefox's validation tool. I am completely new to javascript and have been trying to learn via building this site, so apologies if the code is really messy. Would be really grateful if anyone could help - I thought I was getting to grips with this when it all worked in IE, but am now feeling pretty stupid and think I must be missing something pretty fundamental. I've spent an age getting frustrated trying to resolve this.
I'm still working on same task New problem: When I place text in a rectangle, then wish to overwrite it,(that is replace it with new test,) I cannot remove the earlier text. The new overlays the old, an unreadable mess.
Moreover, what I have achieved works only in Opera. FF tells me I have too much recursion (None that I'm aware of). I cannot get any feedback from IE.
I'm trying to get my tooltip to work, it doesn't.[URL]...n-tooltip/ is where I picked it up from.[URL]... is my current display. when I hover over "59 minutes ago" It's supposed to have a tool tip that says "July 28, 2011 23:40"and it's not.Am i missing an include or something? This is my first stab at jQuery. Like... very first stab. As in, 10 minutes ago, I haven't done much beyond
I have recently noticed that version 1.3 of the jQuery Tooltip Plug-in does not work with jQuery's version 1.3.2. Is there a patch available? Is there one on the way?
This is a makeshift sort function for a table. I want to replace a div contents with a javascript function call. It works fine if I define the individual case, but the general case doesn't work. The problem lies with the +divHold+ part. It never converges to the passed value on the 2nd iteration. This is my Div:
I am working on a rapid html prototyping framework. This would allow me (as an interaction designer) to create html prototypes fast.I have been looking in templating plugins to help with building the templates or filling them with content. For example {{ lorem_ipsum }} would be replaced with a few paragraphs of random text. This is easy to do with several plugins.
However it would be great to be able to add a bit more flexibility by using functions like {{ loremWords(100) }} which would add 100 random words which are different for each replaced item. Or something similar to add a menu or other snippets. It is probably not too difficult but so far I have not gotten it working yet. And the pluginsI have found are either too complex, requires script tags or can't handle functions.
I have this problem that is really bugging me. I am trying to implement this script found in Javascriptkit: [URL]
It has a very unique feature of grabbing arbitrary HTML tags and attaching tooltips to them. Priceless to my site. But the problem is, the script only works with jQuery up to 1.2.6... after that version, it stops working entirely. Quite an issue, as you can imagine. It also has some issues with browsers other than Firefox that I hope updating the code might fix.
why the function alert("hello") is not generated after clicking more than once... There is some method to do this function is executed?Note that doesn't work after update using html() involving id "press" in button.Any idea? PS: see in http:[url]....New York Select an item
I have an odd problem I can't seem to find a solution for. I have two ValidationTextBox elements in a form, username and password. In the onBlur() function of username I call the validator function. Here I make an ajax call to the server to verify that the username is not already registered. If it is then focus is set back to the username field. That all works great. My problem is that when the user clicks on the password field (or tabs) the validator() function for that field is called and displays the tooltip for saying "password can not be empty" and the tooltip for username stating that the username is already taken is not shown.
how to show the username tooltip instead of the password tooltip? I have tried calling an empty displayMessage("") on the password field and this does not work. It is rather annoying because the user does not know why the username field is invalid. Visually it is obvious that the field is invalid but it doesn't state anywhere that the username is already used.
Normally an SVG document is loaded/parsed/interpreted inside an HTML document using an 'object' (or 'embed') element, although there are supposedly other ways too. The problem is, the SVG document must be static this way.
I want to use the DOM interface to build SVG dynamically inside an HTML document. I am guessing I can build it inside HTML within an 'object' (or maybe 'iframe'?) element.
My intentions/goals:
In Javascript, I construct an object 'embedSVG' which has properties and methods for creating valid SVG elements and setting their attributes and attribute values.
During construction, the SVG document is created with its root element. During debugging in FF 2.0 (I'll work on an MSIE-compatible format later), I am using the Mozilla DOM Inspector and comparing nodes when the 'object' element is loading a valid external SVG document, and when I am appending the child representing the SVG document created by the DOM functions.
However the child node (#document) does not specify 'svg' as the root element, but instead 'HTML'. Something is not working.
Here is the relevant code in 'ScriptTest.html' which is the HTML in which the SVG is supposed to be embedded. Below it is the relevant code for 'svglib.js' which is supposed to contain code for building the SVG dynamically.
What this code is supposed to do is load the HTML page and execute the anonymous script, and draw a navy blue-bordered yellow rectangle on a blank page. This is similar to the example in the SVG 1.1 W3C Recommendation on page 202 of the 719-page PDF.
I am getting an exception when embedSVG object placeInHTML() method is called: NS_ERROR_DOM_HIERARCHY_REQUEST_ERR. I find in DOM Inspector in spite of or after the exception that a document is placed as a child of the object element, but it is HTML, with a default 'head', 'title', 'body' elements placed.
I have created a multiple upload function using Flash and JavaScript. I have checked it in all webbrowsers (including Safari) on my computer (windows) and it works fine! Bravo for me! However, I have asked a friend to check my upload function on her Mac, but for some reason it fails. I have no Mac to test ... but does anybody know why the application fails in Safari running on on Mac OS? I understand this is a difficult question without knowing the exact error, but why does it work in Safari on Windows, but not in Safari on a Mac. Is Mac using other standards/conventions for JavaScript or something like that?
this is a re-post of the last item in ':after in js?', below, but the problem is no longer about ':after': now there's an 'else if' statement that doesn't work. This works: it looks for 2 conditions in a class name, and changes a class:
I've got a form textarea on my site, which after being submitted is stripped by my php file.
Then my javascript kicks in and does some analysis of the entered text. However everytime the user entered a hard return within the textarea my javascript gives me an error 'tekenreeks niet afgesloten' which means something like 'string is not closed'.
Therefore I decided to replace all occurences of chr(10) and chr(13) with ok2 (just some random characters), I did this with php which worked fine, and I didn't get the javascript error.
However I need to reshow the entered text (original) to the user, so I need to restore the old values. I tried result.waarde.replace('ok2', 'chr(13)'); but it doesn't work, as it still displays ok2.
I'm no expert in javascript, but how can I replace those characters by the hard returns?
Oh yeah I'll show some more coding, perhaps the error can be found there code...
I've done some small adjustments to my clients site, but it won't show properly in IE (the shadowbox js at least.). I thought js was accepted in all newer browsers.why it doesn't work?I use mootools, and shadowbox/corners and rightclick blocker. Is it generally a 'bad thing' to use js in webpages I want everyone to view in the same way? I tried the same effects with CSS but it's not supported in the same way corss-browser, unfortunately. The 'no selection' CSS class I have on the site is also not accepted in IE.
I am having problem making to work 'insertBefore' on IE 6. I have tried to find online solutions but I faild to do so. It works fine on Safari, FF, Opera, but not IE 6. Actually I am trying to insert new '<div>' into document body in front of anything else( this element will appear just after <body> tag ).
Here is a code:
Code: function subScreen(){ // get actual content of body var bodyDoc = document.body;
I want to use the following code on my web page but, it doesn't work they way I want it to. Firts, I want the pop up window to close after a certain amount of time but, instead of the pop up closing, it closes the previous page (the main page).
Second, I want to add a close button to the pop up window but, it appears on the main page also.
What could I be doing wrong?? I tried many times, switched the lines around but it wouldn't work. Code:
In my website i have a javascript to "slide" 3 pictures in my header. You can see that here: [url]....And that's fine! Now, i want to create a new page with more detailed info about the cars. Next to the info i want more pictures. And to present those extra photo's i wanted to use lightbox. Now, when i'm adding the new js just like they said.
