View 4 RepliesIf you go to google and you search for a thing, you see a list of websites. On the right you can see a double arrow. I you placed your cursor on it, you can see a thumb of the website on the right.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a jQuery lightbox in addition to a javascript page. When I click on a thumb it retrieves the appropriate div. Right now I have the div img src actually spelled out, but I've got so many of these on the page that it's taking forever to load. How do I tell the document that when I click on the thumbnail, to replace the div image source with the appropriate image? Or, is there an even more efficient way to do this?

Click on the thumb and get the image. However, it doesn't work in the newer browsers IE8 & Firefox. Chrome, Opera, and IE 7 work fine. I'm looking for some suggestions. There is also an external page and a page of functions which I can't tell if they relate to this. I would be happy to post them as well if needed.

I have a Cycle Plugin carousel of 20 product thumbs split into 4 slides of 5 thumb images each slide. This scrolls horizontally forwards and backwards with left/right navigation. This carousel is situated below the products being displayed. The user can navigate forwards and backward through these 4 slides, however, when they pick a product to look at the carousel always resets itself back to the first slide. How can I set it so that when an image in one of the 4 slides is clicked and we move to that product's page, that slide stays active when the page loads? It's annoying to have to scroll back through the 4 slides to find the one that had the active product on it.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI've found a post regarding this issue but it's a little bit different this time.So I've created a .php script which creates some galleries where users can click them and browse their respective photos. It works like a charm in Chrome and FireFox, but IE doesn't like it.With this code:
script
type
="application/javascript"
[code]...
When I click on the gallery thumb it should open the first photo in fancybox and browsing through the gallery should by peanuts. And it is, but with IE just opens the .jpg in a blank page without fancybox. The strange thing is I've used the same script approach in another website and the fancybox works just fine with IE too. So why doesn't in this case?
I believe I found an accessibility issue with superfish. I have the "sf- menu" ul as the child of another list item. After tabbing through the entire sf-menu, it disappears. How might I fix this? This is happening in both IE and firefox. It is nested as follows. ul -> li -> ul sf-menu

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter much searching and head-scratching (JS is not my forte!), I adapted some code to do what I want - well, almost! So here I am back again. I need to have three divs on a page, with each separate div changing onClick. Below is the code so far.
Two problems:
1) when I open it in a browser window both divs show, then the one disappears when I click on the second div leaving only the numbers. How can I change it so that both divs remain open?
2) Instead of the numbers [1], [2], etc. to change the divs, I'd like to have to just click on one single 'click here for more' to display the next div then return to the first after the last one. Can this be integrated or is it too late?
I have a map with hotspots, and when you hover over a hot spot, a hidden DIV appears. The only problem I'm having now is getting the DIV to remain open while I move my mouse from the hotspot to the DIV. As soon as I move my mouse away from the hotspot, the DIV disappears. I need to put links in the DIVs, and users will need to be able to move their mouse away from the hotspot to click on the link, but currently can't.
I experimented with setTimeout, but didn't get too far. I really need to get this working.
<img src="images/map.png" alt="" usemap="#map"/>
<map id="map" name="map">
<area shape="rect" coords="211,84,225,97" href="#" alt=""/>
<area shape="rect" coords="226,78,240,92" href="#" alt=""/>

I have a jwplayer in my page, and I've placed a short text describing it underneath it. Works fine in FF and Chrome, but in IE the text vanishes after you click the "Allow blocked content" permissions to allow activex controls.This is what it looks like:
<object classid='clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000' width='450' height='277'
id='single1' name='single1'><param name='movie' value='jwplayer/player.swf'><param name=
'allowfullscreen' value='false'><param name='allowscriptaccess' value='always'><param name=[code]........
Here is my description text.<br/> If I place the text above the object, then it shows up fine. I'd rather not put it there, but I can if I can't figure the problem out.
I am running this javascript on a Windows IIS server. It is in a .asp page. The script seems to run OK. When you click on and release the "Calculate" button, the answer flashes and then disappears. The answer seems to be correct, but I want it to remain visible until the form is reset. The code is as follows. What am I missing? This is my first attempt at javascript coding. Code:
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been looking for rss scrollers/tickers which go horizontally, I
have found one which goes vertically and is very good, but I have no
idea how to change this to go hoirzontally.
Does anyone know of a script I can use to solve my problem.
Obviously it is impossible to show the script I am using for the
vertical one as it is made up of several files.
I saw a script named "page scroller" in the following page and it works well without any error:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/pagescroller.htm
but when I'm using it in my program, in the same browser (with the same security options), I get the following error:
To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could acess your computer...

I'm looking for a particular dhtml content scroller that is will slide to different sections of the content when a link is clicked.
Imagine a long table with all the pages of content on it side by side and a layer is placed over that table so that when a link is clicked the desired content will slide into view.
Its a very common effect used in flash sites but im wondering if anyone knew how to do it using dhtml.
I have an item at the end of a menu that when it is moused over, it makes a form visible underneath it. On some machines running Safari the form flashes on and of on hover, and disappears when the mouse leaves the trigger.
I can get it to happen in Firefox if I move the mouse super slow from the trigger word to the box. I've tried moving the log in box closer with css, and it still happens.
Here is the javascript:

I use superfish horizontal nav-bar style. Subcategories appearhorizontally below categories.The problem is that when I take themouse from the category name to reach one of their subcats, thesubmenu disappears! The subcategories disappear too fast! Is there away to fix this?

I cant find an example for this, but I'm sure people will know what I mean. Imagine a form on a page, the user hits submit, but a new page does not load, instead a "busy" graphic displays, then disappears and then the results of the input are displayed.
Does anybody have a link to a tutorial or an example of this kind of feature? Or even a few google keywords to search for would be cool also.
where can I find an horizontal scroller where I can set the
scrolling direction from left to right?
I am using jquery as a text scroll (jcarousel) to pull recent articles from a blog. Everything works great. EXCEPT, I would like to have the links open in a new browser if possible.
Here is where I THINK the code needs to be changed?
// JavaScript Document
function mycarousel_initCallback(carousel, state)
{
// Lock until all items are loaded. That prevents jCarousel from
// setup correctly and we have to do that in the ajax callback

I have a question about this scroller/ticker script (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/mikescroll.htm) I'm working with. I'm able to get the script working on it's own page, but when I put into my HTML I'm having an issue where all the test lays on-top of each other and the scrolling is broken (see attached image).
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn a thread somewhere, someone wanted to know if there was a form element that would create a slider bar for the users to select a rating for something or other.
Well I went away and made one in DHTML and it works in all but five browsers (IE 3.0 4.0, NN 4.79 Opera 5.02 6.00) that I have tested it on.
Once I had made it, I decided to make it more customizable by allowing users to set the width of the bar more easily.
Then I considered using XML to create the slider bar so that it would work for non-JavaScript users, I decided against this for two reasons, not many people use XHTML for their pages and I don't know XML. Instead I just included a noscript section with just a normal text box in.
Then someone at school told me that I could use ActiveX to create a slider bar. Well, lets just say that I know more about XML than ActiveX and leave it at that.
So as it stands this is just your average, run-of-the-mill, DHTML script. I'm posting it here to see if anyone can think of any ways that I could make it better or just tell me how damn good it is. :D I don't mind either way, honest.
I plan on submitting it to Dynamic Drive so that's why there are credits all over the place if you're wondering.
I am trying to create a combo box with horizontal scroller. i.e. Combo box will have a fixed width, ifany of its options have higher text, then horizontalscroller should appear automatically.I also tried placing a <div> around <SELECT>. But not getting how to apply styles on it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know nothing of js yet, I'm still studying CSS & PHP. So I'm just looking for a ready made script for vertical scrolling. I found one that does exactly that, but all the css styling is done in the javascipt, so I was completely lost. I want to be able to just enter the html (into the js array if neccessary, I can do that much lol) and have it scroll upwards, simple as that. The nearest thing I could find to what I want is this Creating a vertical content scroller using DHTML I can style my div & images myself, then all I need to do is enter the html and away it goes, but it functions just like the marquee tag in that it waits for the entire content to clear before it starts scrolling again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a script for a scroller that scrolls a normal page in an iframe when you rollover an image (which would not be inside the iframe rather on the page the iframe is on)?
I've been searching the net for like hours and all I've found have been news tickers and marquees.
