Switch Table Rows/columns With DOM (firefox Issues)

Nov 17, 2005

I want to switch entire rows/columns around in a table. Move rows up/down and move columns left/right. This works fine in IE/opera but has a few problems in firefox.

First of all, is this the 'right' way to do this or is there a better way? Firefox doesn't support swapNode().

When moving rows up/down (top one in demo) firefox takes a few clicks to work when it should be one click on the button. I have no idea why. Code:

Editable Table - With Editable Rows And Columns That Will Feed Back Into A Database

Aug 12, 2009

I'm trying to implement is a table with editable rows and columns that will feed back into a database. If I could do it with AJAX that would be great too, but I'm not too familiar with javascript. I don't need the code, I need more of an idea. The HTML Table is currently a recreation of the MySQL table minus a few columns. Its all in text, but if I could make the text editable, or better yet, make the text turn into input boxes it would be really cool. I'm not really sure what kind of methods and properties I would need, or quite how to put it all together. What do you think is the best way to go about the entire project?

For points 1, 2 you are OK. Point 3 is the difficulty.

Onmouseover Not Firing In Firefox - Doesn't Recognize Table Rows As Links

Jan 3, 2011

I've been working on a project for some time now, and just recently I installed Firefox.

Now, part of the site (which works perfectly in IE6/7) doesn't work in Firefox.

Here is part of the code:

Code:

(I didn't copy all of the code because it's basically the same all the way down)

The main problem is with the link (Firefox apparently doesn't recognize table rows as links). The second problem is with the onmouseover/onmouseout etc handlers (absolutely nothing happens).

just in case you need to know, the code is for a nav bar.

JQuery :: Validate Matrix Columns And Rows?

Mar 3, 2011

I'm trying to validade a table that has 20 checkboxes (5 columns and 4 rows) and that needs to have at least 2 checkboxes checked in each row and column.I've managed to create the validation for the row part (all checkboxes in the same row have the same name).I've also created a custom class rule (all checkboxes in the same column have the same class) but it doesn't seem to work. It only shows the row validation messages (labels that are display next to the last cell in each row) and not the column rule message.

Here is the code:

<form class="form_matrix" id="form_matrix" method="get" action="form_matrix_submit">
<table><tbody><tr><th></th><th id="col_1">Col. 1</th><th id="col_2">Col. 2</th><th id="col_3">Col. 3</th><th id="col_4">Col. 4</th><th id="col_5">Col. 5</th><th></th></tr>

calculating the summed values of a column. Also, the row values are subtracted from each other eg:

col1 col2 col3
row1 a b = a-b
row2 c d = c-d
row3 =a+c =b+d =a-b+(c-d)

however there can be N number of rows. I have listed below and example I have done to calculate the subtracted values but I am having difficulty doing the summations.

Sticky Table Columns

May 2, 2007

I have a requirement to build a div in a page that contains a table of
plane details, and one of the columns (on the left - tail number)
needs to be sticky on the horizontal axis but not on the vertical axis
(i.e. when scrolling right the tail numbers need to stay visible on
the left hand side, but when scrolling down the tail numbers need to
scroll to keep up with the rest of the plane details).

I have been looking at various ways of doing this but currently to no
avail, the idea that looks most promising is to split it into two
tables and set them both to have scroll bars, the problem with this
idea was that both the tables need to be scrolled by the same amount
vertically, i could get the position of one table using the offsetTop
property but could not find a way of setting the offsetTop property
for the other table so they stay aligned. The other issue with this is
that it would be using the onscroll property which does not seem to
show any distinction between horizontal and vertical scrolls..

JQuery :: Stripe Table Rows After Table Is Reloaded

Feb 3, 2011

I have a site with 2 side by side tables with matching data. The left table is a drag-n-drop implementation so you can reorder the values in the database just by dragging and dropping. It works wonderfully. I want the right table to reflect the changes instantaneously. I got the right table to reload itself with the following jquery line:

$("#newMeet").load(location.href+" #newMeet>*","");

I stuck that line in the "Update" function of my "Sortable" funtion. And the line that I am using to initially stripe the right table is:

$(".checks2:even").addClass("grayBack");

Now matter where I stick that line, I cannot get the table re-striped after it reloads.
