I have spry validation setup to validate a contact form and it works fine in firefox, chrome, safari and opera, but wont work at all in any version of internet explorer.

Anyone know if this is a common issue with spry validation and if so, is there a workaround?

the validation and CSS work. I just can't figure out how to make them work together.
I use Spry for my form validation and have recently ran into a small issue. Form fields validated using Spry lose their value when I hit the back button. Fields without validation retain their values.
The form is using the POST method. With javascript, is it necessary to send the form variables back to the original form page?
I want to disable the onclick for a <div>. In onclick I am using
Spry.Effect.AppearFade(...). Any suggestions on how to disable onclick
after the first initial click from the user?
I've ripped off some script from another site of mine that works fine which
checks an input box to see if an email address has been entered when
submitting. If it hasn't a prompt is issued asking the user to enter an
email address.
It seems to be ignoring the validation rule and just emailing the form
anyway, can anyone help? ....
I'm trying to display an alert if a form field has a value in it. I got this function, and looked at a half dozen others that are virtually identical They ALL claim to work This doesn't and I have no idea what I've got wrong Can somebody tell me what's going on? The function gets called onSubmit, and the Alert "xxx" is displaying.

And while I'm in here asking questions about javascript, can somebody tell me how to do an alert that'll append a value to text? For example... Alert ("xxx" + form.newfile0.value); How do I write this so it actually works?
I am using javascript validation for submitting a form. All the other fields are working except for the Terms of Use checkbox. It sends and alert and says it wasn't checked whether or not you check it. It also submits the form whether or not it is checked immediately after the alert. The field is called df_Terms. Can anyone see anything I am missing?

There are about 3 to 4 radio buttons. all with the same name, but i need to make sure that at least one out of this group is selected.

I've been making a website for a friend. On her contactpage, I wanted to insert a emailform with php. It works! But before it sends the e-mail, there should be a javascript validation. That code works fine on localhost, but once I upload the website on the host (she uses dhost.info), the javascript file doesn't seem to work anymore. The form even sends blank mails now!
It seems very weird to me, cause I copied the code from my own websites contactpage. It works perfectly there.
Does anyone know what the problem can be here? code...
I have an issue with a spry accordion panel causing a flicker. The page is at: [URL] When I do a keyword search however and get a list of results, the flicker dissapears. It is flickering on some pages and not on others.

Since there'll be quite a lot of rows in the table, I need some sort of paging controls so the user can see about 10 rows at a time and then page through the rest of the rows.[code]When I test though, I get the following error:"Failed to retrieve data set (dsHospPrivate) for spry:repeat".I wondered if someone could tell me where I'm going wrong? I found some folks couldn't use the minified version of the .js file, but I tried both and am still getting nowhere. This works in FF. The submitHandler runs (I'm showing an alert) but the validations aren't running. Below is the code.

I have to build a small contactform validator in JS, which checks the fields' values when submit is clicked. I am experiencing problems with getting the email validation to work properly. This is what I've got:
When I don't fill in anything in the email field, I indeed get the proper alert. But when I fill in a string between 1 and 7 characters, the (document.contact.email.length < 7) is not met. The same goes for the last two conditions: (!document.contact.email.indexOf("@")) || (!document.contact.email.indexOf(".")). Even when (one of) these two conditions are not met, it is possible to submit the form...

It is a vertical menu with multiple sub-menus.Some lists are very long and the menu goes below and off the page.I found a great example of what I want my menu to do: Coins Paper Money | eBayOn the side, it says "Browse By:" and there is a vertical menu. If I shrink the page up vertically a little and watch the sub-menus pop out, I notice they get pushed up if the parent is close to the bottom of the screen, which ensures that none of the options go off the page, they get pushed up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with my MooTools Slideshow. I have a page with 4 Spry tabs and 3 of them have slideshows. I've set up the page for multiple slideshows, but only the first tab works correctly.
These are 2 issues I'm having:
1. The thumbnails work properly for the first tab, but for the other tabs they seem to stack upon one another and flutter when you mouseover.
2. When you switch to a different tab, you get a smaller photo artifact for a couple of seconds in the right corner of the slideshow screen (I have a feeling this will go away when #1 is resolved).

The issue is probably that slideshow can't calculate dimensions properly when it is hidden. It's really a general issue with javascript/DOM-manipulation: when an element is set as display:none - like the hidden tabs - nodes inside of them have no height/width. The workaround would be to initialize each slideshow once the tab is visible.
Do not initiate all slideshows at once, initiate them when the tab comes into focus, destroy them/pause them when a tab loses focus. I don't know how to initiate the slideshow on tab focus.
I'm trying to use spry to create an accordion navigation system. At the moment I have just inserted it using dreamweaver, and I have been able to change the look of it through CSS. However, I would like the panels to only open as large as their contents, rather than a fixed height, if you understand what I mean. I read through the adobe help and it says:"The accordion also supports variable height panels.
