View 6 RepliesI have one web-page on the web-site & I would like to detect a select date isn't in the past, so I use:
var date_today = new Date();
It works well, except if I (or other user) changing the System Time of the computer to the past,I discover that the date_today is actually that date ... therefore my detection is wrong!I would like to use the today date of the Server where my web-page located ... so that I don't concern about local system date any more Any java code to get today date on the Server?
What I'm looking to do is be able to load a number of pages in advance for a daily blog, and then have index.html automatically pick the right page based on today's date. I guess I'll name the files something like '20090708.html', '20090709.html' etc.As well as selecting the right page to display (happy to use frames for that if there's no other way), I want to include "previous post" and "next post" buttons at the top of each page. Happy to hardcode what they point to, but I'd like a function whereby the "next post" button is not displayed if the user is on "today's" page.

I'm making a combo box, and I want it defaulted to todays date. What am I doing wrong? in the body onload function I call time_Stamp() In time_Stamp I'm doing
document.getElementById('job_month').value="test";
My combo box looks like this:

I'm trying all different options and can't figure out how to have the month auto checked to current month.
I use the Datepicker plugin of [url]. How can I put the date value directly in to the input text, when I click the "Today" of the Datepicker?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do i select an option in a combo box? i have tried looking on the internet but dont really know what i should be searching for. what i want to happen is that when a function is called
a line of code will select a specific option in a combo box. something like:
//excuse the dodgy syntax
function select_combo() {
cb_1.select[3] //where option 3 will be selected (or 4 if first index
is 0)
}
the combo box would be something like:
<select>
<option>First</option>
<option>Second</option>
<option>Third</option>
</select>
The function would change the selection in the combo box.
I have a form which takes some values as input and stores them in a db for another use. I have the following java script to validate the entries.
Now I am planning to add a combo box to the form where I have the environment field. Following is the code for the form.
How to implement a combo box( ie first two options are US and UK and third one is a text box which i can enter any value, can't be left blank while submitting the form) with "Environment" field?
Can anybody give me complete code and steps wherein i can implement the dtpicker in only "yyyy-mm-dd" format. i want the user to select the date using this dtpicker and the selected date should show in the textbox on the form.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAny way to allow a user to click items in a combo box and have its value populate an input field.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAn existing JSP is generating the HTML page and table. I have retro-fitted it so that it adds to each input field a 'trigger' to the onkeyup event.
The purpose of this trigger is check for the the cursor keys being pressed (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) and then if it is a logically valid move, shift to the next cell in that direction.
Now, the function it calls, doOnKeyUp, for the most part is working fine... when the input field in the table cells are a textbox or textarea, my method can re-focus the fields appropriately.
HOWEVER, I am having a huge headache when the input field is a combo box. Basically, the value of the combo box is changed with the cursor keys (which is default combo box behaviour (I think)), instead of moving to the next editable cell in that chosen direction.
Problem #1: My question: Is there a way to intercept/override the various onKey events or similar for the combo boxes. For the combo boxes, I want to continue to move between table cells UNLESS a do something specific, like press the spacebar to entire an update/modification mode for the current cell. Everything I have done so far does not prevent the combo box events from triggering.
Problem #2: Also, I tried a nasty hack to try and get it to work, by trying to switch the combo box's value back 1 spot (if it appeared to be needed) by changing the <combo box>.selected value. However, that change never appears to be taking hold, so it is staying at whatever the original selected value was. For this one, I am just curious as to the correct way to have javascript change the selected value in a combo box and make it "stick" and make it applied to the view/UI?
Code example:
You can probably tell by the code that I had been trying various things to change the combo box's selection via javascript, but none has worked for me.
What I have got is a form that a user has to fill out and submit (when validated all variables are stored in a session and emailed after multiple forms are completed), currently I have radio buttons, text boxes and a combo box/ drop down list (for location). All parts are working fine and validating fine. My problem is to do with the combo box//ddl. I have successfully validated the ddl so the user must select a location onsubmit and it is added to session and passed fine.At the moment the ddl only has cities or towns in it however as I would like to include different states and possibly different countries I need a code that validates the state first and then only gives the cities/towns that are in that state (otherwise my ddl would be to large). I can do this with links however I can't seem to do it in a form.

I am using javascript to populate a number of text boxes based on the data item selected in the 1st combo box.
I am now working on making the selection of that combo box populate another combo box with items from another table. I can hard the sql code for the 2nd combo box so that when I select an option it populates more text boxes, but want the contents of the 2nd combo box to dynamically change depending on the selection of the 1st box. I would like this to do it without refreshing the page after each 1st combo box selection.
The 2nd box does not populate with the below code as I guess the variable isn't populated, I can put '1' in and it selects products with that prodid, but as explained above i'd like it to read the prodid from the 1st combo box.
Code:
<?php
require "session_logincheck.php";
function selectProductAndPopulate()
