I need to use Javascript to add some new attributes to an inout field (see below).
Here is the standard input field code...
I am trying to use SetAttribute to append a custom attribute to a form input. The code is below.
Code JavaScript:
function getpostdata(){
// Append the values[code].....
I'm now working on kind of invoice form which in it the user can add as much input field as he wants.
The problem is that after adding a new input field - the content in the other fields is deleted.
Code:
I am having a form with two input fields. I want to enter some text in the first input field and then the second field should get the same text. Is there a simple way (maybe a plugin) to do this with jQuery? It would be perfect if I even could output all these input fields values as normal text in <p> or <li> tags.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs recently as 1.4.3 $('input:text') would find input elements with no type attribute, but after upgrading to 1.5.1 that is no longer the case.
Is this a bug or an intended refactor to be more standards compliant?
FYI - this is the selector I now have to use: $('input:text,input:not([type])')
I'm trying to copy something from one input field to another input field. I don't want to wait until the user clicks the button, should be instant.
This script works but it's always one letter behind.
$('#locationInput').keypress(function() {
does anyone know a simple way to focus on a different text field after the user enters data in the first text field?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make some dynamic effect to a HTML page using JQuery.<br/> 1.<br/> When the user clicks a Radio field, the field will be highlighted.<br/> 2.<br/> When the user clicks the Radio 'Man', <br/>a Input text box will be provided immeditely just below it.
Here is my simple HTML page, but I don't know how to do with the JQuery part:
<Table>
<TR>
<TD>Gender</TD>
<TD>
[Code]....
<SELECT NAME="color" CLASS="text">
<OPTION VALUE="red">Red</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="blue">Blue</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="green">Green</OPTION>
</SELECT>
<INPUT TYPE="button" CLASS="button" OnClick="self.location.href='index.php?page=page&color=((COLOR))'">
That's the code I'm basically looking for, I would show you the page - however I'm working through localhost and right now it's impractical to upload. The code I've given you gives you the required part anyway. What I want to do is where the buttons OnClick attribute refers to '((COLOR))' I want it to be whatever the select option is the the select field (red, blue or green).
For simplicity reasons as far as the coding is concerned, it'd be easier to avoid any functions.. (There's a lot of PHP, including files, etc - it'd be a hassel to get back to the head of the page :P). Also for practical reasons I'd prefer to avoid using a form with with the GET method to pass on the information.
So I have to ask some stupid questions and make sure that there is not something wrong in this simple syntax. I am trying to get input field attributes type and tagname by field ID. Heres the code..
Code JavaScript:
var type = $('#' + input_id).attr('type');
var tag = $('#' + input_id).attr('tagName');
When I look in firebug I see there is the correct ID in input_id variable and that the input field with that id exists. But for tag and type variables I just get 'undefined' for reason unknown.. syntax is correct or?
I want to change attribute action in form. Problem is that in that form
is also input with name action. Unfortunately renaming of that input is
worst case because many servlets depend on it.
This works in konqueror but not in IE and Mozilla:
newurl= document.forms[i].getAttribute('action');
newurl= newurl.replace('all/', prefix);
document.forms[i].action= newurl;
Do you have any idea how to modify attribute action in this case ?
When accessing my web page I build up the javascript and html dynamically. Depending on an parameter I want to set all the fields (input tags) readonly. How do I do this? Of course I can write if statements to add different input tags with and without the readonly attribute. But is it possible to write a javascript that onload search the page and add readonly to all input tags?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a table with several columns containing input elements populated from a database, e.g.,
On every row, I need to perform a calculation using the value of several input fields. So I tried to access the value of the first input field like so (which had worked in another function):
But for some reason it's returning a 0, and the line below also doesn't work:
But this returns the correct class, so I know it's finding the element:
And if I assign the input element an id, say "count," this works:
Obviously I don't want to fuss with individual id's to get the values. How to understand why the first two examples don't work, and how to fix them?
How can I add via javascript an Event Attribute like onkeyup="xyz(this.value)" in a text input ?

Is it possible to copy the value of a visible input field to a hidden input field?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to submit a form via a function which dynamically creates a
hidden input:
function submitLocation(theForm) {
var e = document.createElement('input');
e.setAttribute('type', 'hidden');
e.setAttribute('name', 'location');
e.setAttribute('value', Ƈ');
var f = document.getElementById(theForm);
f.appendChild(e);
document.forms[theForm].submit();
}
The function is called from an anchor's onclick event:
<form name='form1' method='post' action='action.php'>
<a onclick="submitLocation('form1');">Submit</a>
</form>
However the function produces an input which is missing the name element:
<INPUT type=hidden value=1>
The desired output should be:
<INPUT type=hidden name=location value=1>
Can anyone tell me how i can change which attribute on my form field triggers the validation?currently it appears the be the name attribute. So in my Rails app using Rails helpers, it sets the name to somthing like formname['fieldname'] and the whole name.in my script if i do something like [codde]it causes the script to break.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to replicate a feature found in hotmail, facebook, etc. When you type or select a recipient from an auto-suggest box for your message/email that recipient's name is put into the "To" field box and is encased (usually a blue rounded corner box) with a X to the far right. If the "X" is clicked the recipient is removed.
How can do you put the selected recipient into the encasing and insert it in the "To" field box? If there are multiple recipients how are they differentiated? For example, if there were a ";" between the recipients the semi-colon would separate the values.
I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="hidden" name="on1" value="Size" maxlength="200">Size</td>
[code].....
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
I tried to get values from a input box which works great in Firefox, but not in MSIE;
$("input[name=name]").val();
Is there a workaround for MSIE to get this working or am I just doomed to use id's?
I am developping a C# program and I need to get a value from an input

I'm new in web-development. I've searched it but it's not found. I make a input then how i get value of it for javascript value?

I need to put a cookie value into a form input field using Javascript.
The form is written in php and I have no way to change the code or change the name of the input field.
I have a Cookie function that gets the cookie (get_Cookie). the Cookie name is "Referredby".
The form name is "editform" and the input field name is "FormField[2][32]"
